Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich
Carina H.

The service at Time Out Market makes ordering different food with friends convenient. You don't have to get up from your seat, and on a weekday night, there was plenty of seating. It wasn't too crowded or loud. I deconstructed the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, since it was so big. The biscuit wasn't soggy with sauce, and the cheese complemented the biscuit's flavor. I wish there was more of a cheese flavor. The chicken was also crispy.

Delicious, hot and fresh food! Great portions for the price too. Order at their counter, find a seat, and wait for your number to be called. The food came out fairly quick. The Mac and cheese was the star of the meal. So cheesy and creamy! The chicken was a little overly breaded in my opinion. However it tasted great and paired perfectly with the pickles and biscuit.

This was a solid restaurant in the Time Out Market. Food came out quickly and freshly hot. Delicious honey chicken and pickles. I was a bit disappointed by the biscuit; it didn't really have any texture. I would still come back for their chicken and would love to try their mac & cheese next time.

We were hungry while in the area and also wanted to check out the market as well. While perusing, Jacob's Pickles caught our eye. We came on a busy weekend so it was hard to find seating. The food took a bit of time as well (likely given how busy the whole place was). Overall the food was good but maybe a bit overpriced? Still enjoyed the experience!

OMG!! Was this place delicious! We've been wanting to visit since we saw it on IG. And we were not disappointed! The meals were hearty, and absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to visit again to try out their chicken and gravy! My wife and I agreed that next time we'll share a plate as there was so much to eat! Especially with their side orders being amazing! We were able to sit alongside their clean counter space which was a treat in itself, as we were able to watch the employees making the food from scratch! It was amazing to see how efficient they were! If you love chicken you DO NOT want to miss this spot! See you soon!

Had a good time trying Jacob's pickles in timeout market! The menu is relatively simple so it was easy to order for those who have decision paralysis. Decided to get the chicken sandwich and made it a combo with waffle fries and Mac and cheese. Came on a weekday during lunch so the ordering was fast and it wasn't too crowded but the weekend is most likely a different story. Everything about the food was really good from the chicken to the sides even down to the pickles! The portion size is huge so you are getting a pretty good deal! The only downside is that the biscuit gets quite soggy so it is almost impossible to eat it sandwich style. Timeout market gets pretty busy so finding a seat was hard and it could get quite loud in there.

After walking the Brooklyn Bridge, we decided to check out the Time Out Market. After making a full round of the food stands in the market, we could not help but to stop by Jacob's Pickles. It is an order and sit place. Just a counter top with a few counter stools. Since everything looks heavy, my friend and I decided to split a sandwich combo so we can have the best of both the sandwich and the Mac and cheese. We decided on the hot honey chicken sandwich and pickles. Our order were quickly taken and we sat down at the booth while waiting for our food. The Mac and cheese was freshly made to order with all the sauces ready to prep. It looked amazing as the cook prepare the Mac and cheese. He also assembled the sandwich and the sauces were amazing. I think we go the pieces of chicken that were made earlier because it came lukewarm which would be my own disappointment. I would order both again but that Mac and cheese is highly recommended. I would want to make sure the fried chicken is freshly out of the fryer.

Very happy with Jacob's Pickles at the DUMBO Time Out Market. Get ready for some very large portions. They assemble and bake all Mac & Cheese orders on the spot and create some interesting combinations, the Hot Honey Crispy Chicken combo is a huge win. The service is great, quick and friendly.

Was in Brooklyn and had to visit the Time Out Market per a friends recommendation. With so many delicious food stalls in here, I stumbled upon Jacob's Pickles as the presentation looked incredibly delicious. The Food: I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit Sandwich Combo with a side of Mac N Cheese. I can tell you, from the plates I see being served to others, you will be in a food coma right after the meal! The fried chicken itself was cooked to perfection. Nice layer of crunchy skin, and tender meat that just break apart so easily. The meat was also very juicy and flavorful. They had the Nashville hot seasoning down to a T. The Mac N Cheese was also a star player here. The pasta cooked well and the cheese combined together made it perfect. Right amount of gooey cheese that made every bite worth it. The Service: Service was great! Ordered at the kiosk and waited for my order. Wasn't long before I was called to pick up mine for to go. Staff are nice and friendly as well. The Atmosphere: Since it was a food stall, can't speak too much on it's own atmosphere. But they do have a bar area in front of their kitchen for you to eat. Not that much seating, so you may need to find another spot up or downstairs. Overall, 5/5. Chicken cooked perfectly with incredible flavor. I'd highly giving this place a try.

Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese

Goddamn this food was good. Incredibly huge portions. Some guy ordered chicken n mac & cheese from some other spot and was sitting next to me looking at my food all jealous at how much I had for probably the price the same price.

The portions for the food served is quite large so it works for another meal later. We got the hot honey chicken and I enjoyed the flavor. I didn't like the taste of the pickles though but might be just me. They prepare the food at a reasonable time. At the Time Out Market, you have to find your own seating and bus your tray when you're done.

The Nashville hot chicken but with added honey!!

So many choices at the Time Out Market. My friends and I were looking around for pizza but came across this place which had fried chicken. I Ordered the Nashville chicken (spicy sauce) said the spicy sauce is a 7/10 but is really good with honey so I ordered that and it was delish! I love a lot of my food spicy but the mix of spice and honey was soo soo good.

I had been here prior and didn't love it but I'm glad I gave them a second chance. The portion sizes are HUGE for the price point. Me and a friend each got a hot honey chicken sandwich combo and we easily could have split it. The Mac and cheese was so good - tasted super cheddar-y lol. The sandwich came with two huge pieces of perfectly fried chicken and the pickles added a nice crunch and flavor. Staff were friendly and the lemonade was great as well. Definitely would return.

The young man at the counter was very busy but kind and I could see the workers in the kitchen working hard as well. The ambiance was typical for a fast casual restaurant. Some people grabbing takeout orders, delivery app workers doing pickups, and dine in patrons at tables. There were seating options for couples as well as groups. I definitely do recommend and will return next time I'm in the area.

Once you order, they ask for your name and then serve your table by calling your name. It's cute. As for the food... I ordered the fried chicken with potato salad, dressing and cornbread and peach cobbler. My chicken looked good, but tasted a little dry. Maybe it was just being under a light for a bit. I visited in the evening. Who knows? My potato salad was a bit bland, and I was hoping for some pickle relish mixed in. (If you know, you know.) I'm not a fan of cobbler, but I thought I'd give it a shot. They also had apple cobbler, which I should have stuck with. I can't tell you how the cornbread dressing was. When I got home they forgot to pack it. I don't think I'll be back, but it's a nice place to sit and chat with others while they enjoy their meals.

The waitress was super professional and gave us suggestions from the menu items. She suggested the Peaches Punch (rum and positive vibes) and she did not disappoint. Peaches Punch was sweet and citrus. My fam is southern, migrated from North Carolina to Brooklyn, so I am not a stranger to southern food. My mother was a sou cook in a small water front hotel on the intercostal waterway, so I confess I am a chair side critic of collard greens. I do not like collards simmered too sweet. I also like to add vinegar. So we ordered the fried catfish, cornbread, and collard greens. The catfish arrived seasoned and crispy. I added a dash of Texas Petes hot sauce, they seriously offer a variety of hot sauce. Love it. The collard greens were inviting, aromatic, and tender. The smell of the collards reminded me of Sunday dinner after training. Yes, it tasted old school, I greatly appreciated the southern vibe and the great southern hospitality. The main entrées were affordable and the drinks were worth every penny. This is within walking distance from my home. I will definitely return for collard greens. Please make a date to sit out on the sidewalk and order those collards.

During a recent breakfast visit celebrating both my mother's birthday, I had a disappointing customer service experience. I would first like to recognize the young gentleman who served our table . A mexican young man. , He was professional, attentive, and courteous throughout our visit. The issue arose when I ordered a Peach Bellini that did not taste as expected. It lacked the peach flavor I had enjoyed on previous visits and tasted more like orange juice. I asked if it could be replaced with a ginger ale. My server was handling another table and zi was willing to wait. . But a women of Spanish decent light skin and heavy set approached our table and explained there were policies regarding returning something. . Rather than simply processing the substitution, she repeatedly encouraged me to keep the drink and offered to add more peach flavoring. I explained several times that I simply did not like the beverage and preferred a ginger ale instead.. I also told her I an celebrating a birthday abd do not wish to go back and forth. She tried to explain all drinks are made thd same which is not the same. She has to remember she does not just represent herself but the Peaches establishment. As a former bartender, I understand that drinks can vary, despite efforts at consistency. My concern was not the drink itself but the lengthy discussion. I felt pressured to justify a simple request during what was meant to be a special celebration Our bill exceeded $100, and as a longtime customer, I expected a more customer-focused response. If there is a formal policy regarding drink returns or exchanges, it would be helpful for it to be clearly posted. They eventually substituted it. But I should not have to goI though all that. Overall, my experiences at your restaurant have been very positive, which is why this incident stood out. The food was excellent, and our server was wonderful. I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity. Customer concerns are often best resolved through listening, empathy, and flexibility. .

As soon as you walk in, you can smell the amazing dishes and you can literally feel the love they put on each plate as they serve the guests. I almost don't want to share this review for fear that the line may get longer but this restaurant is now one of the few that I recommend you go out of your way to try and enjoy. Their menu is classically simple but made with an abundance of care and no shortcuts in their cooking. As you are seated you are welcome to place your order in the front of the glass display, they cook everything in house and sometimes they run out of the specials so don't sleep on getting there on time. We ended up getting their lunch specials and picked one main and two sides. I know my girl loves Ox Tails and ended up getting the last plate with some candied yams and Mac and cheese. Let me tell you, we cleaned the plate and it was finger licking good!!! The jerk ribs were amazingly tender and fall off the bone. All of the sides were well portioned and absolutely flawless. Don't come here if you're on a diet there is only one way to enjoy this restaurant and it's to just dive in. FYI - you will need a nap after your meal. I wanted to love it so much especially since TikTok critic/MMA fighter Keith Lee visited them in 2023, but my experience was not like his. I want to say that online reviews are almost about accurate. They were out of cold salads and collard greens which was an issue for other customers at times as well. No problem, they were super helpful and offered an alternative but not a good one. I had steamed vegetables that mashed in my mouth like mashed potatoes when I took a bite. I did end up going to another spot for collard greens and potato salad because you can't have soul-food without that. I had the rib dinner with mac n cheese and yams and a tiny piece of complimentary cornbread. The ribs definitely taste amazing but they don't take off the membrane in the back which is slimy and gross. I left that part behind. The yams were sweet and good BUT.....that mac n cheese is NOT soul-food Mac n cheese. Here's the thing I figured out, they use such little cheese but season the noodles very well that you don't truly notice unless you love mac n cheese, which I do, so I noticed it lacked so much cheese but had seasoned noodles. The rib dinner was a 3/5 because ribs were great but sides needed help. I had rice and peas as an additional side and fried wings. The wings were ATROCIOUS! I ate the smallest one and didn't eat the rest. How can you serve such huge feathered wings like that? It was a nightmare. The feathers being on it turned me off. This tells me they don't make their food with care, they move quick to be one and done and I want my food cooked with love and care. They were also frozen wings that were thawed and seasoned, I know the difference. The rice and peas were okay 3/5 as well. Overall the food was not worth the hype. Customer service was beautiful for sure but the food was not it.
