Talk about the cheesiest Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. Came yesterday to the Timeout Market on Ann outing and one of the places we stopped to eat at was Jacob's Pickles. I ended up getting the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. The sandwich on the corn bread was delicious. Pickled were tasty and that Mac and cheese was fantastic. Mexican crew who cooked the food were very nice and Colombian cashier was very friendly. We ate upstairs and had a good time there was no live music this time. read more

We were on a 3 hour tour, and they stopped at DUMBO for photo opts and mentioned this place of business as a reference to where the free public restroom was. Our ears perked up because we heard pickles. After we explored the views, we went in and ordered some deep fried pickles and a pint of dill to go. Those were the best deep fried pickles we've ever enjoyed. The batter on them was unlike anything we've had and the dipping sauce was delicious. We got back to the hotel room, at 10:30 at night and devoured the entire container of pickles and drank all the juice. This was the third day that we were in NYC and we've done a lot of exploring, and that $6 pint of pickles was all we needed to refresh for our trip home the next day. Came on a weekday during lunch so the ordering was fast and it wasn't too crowded but the weekend is most likely a different story. Everything about the food was really good from the chicken to the sides even down to the pickles! The portion size is huge so you are getting a pretty good deal! The only downside is that the biscuit gets quite soggy so it is almost impossible to eat it sandwich style. Was in Brooklyn and had to visit the Time Out Market per a friends recommendation. With so many delicious food stalls in here, I stumbled upon Jacob's Pickles as the presentation looked incredibly delicious. I can tell you, from the plates I see being served to others, you will be in a food coma right after the meal! The fried chicken itself was cooked to perfection. Nice layer of crunchy skin, and tender meat that just break apart so easily. The meat was also very juicy and flavorful. They had the Nashville hot seasoning down to a T. The Mac N Cheese was also a star player here. The pasta cooked well and the cheese combined together made it perfect. Right amount of gooey cheese that made every bite worth it. The Service: Service was great! Ordered at the kiosk and waited for my order. Wasn't long before I was called to pick up mine for to go. Staff are nice and friendly as well. The Atmosphere: Since it was a food stall, can't speak too much on it's own atmosphere. But they do have a bar area in front of their kitchen for you to eat. We came to Time Out Market as a party of 4 on a Saturday at 1pm. There is not enough seating in the market for the crowds at peak times, so we decided to scout out a table before ordering. I ordered from Jacob's using mobile order via QR code on the tables, which was a nice feature so that we did not have to get up and potentially loose our seat. The food was then delivered to the table about 10-15 minutes later. The positive: -The Nashville chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese combo ($23 before tax) was good value and tasty The Negative: -While the Mac and cheese retained its heat under a generous layer of melted cheese, the chicken sandwich was somewhere between warm and room temperature -The biscuit that the chicken was served on was not very stable and disintegrated towards the end of the meal. The sweet to spicy ratio was maybe a little too high. This is a small nitpick though, overall it was amazing regardless and I would be happy to get this again. Service was quick. I came on a Monday afternoon and there was no line to order. I got my food after 10 minutes. The only reason for knocking off a star is due to the way my takeout order was packaged. I recommend that they package the bun separately as the bottom bun soaked up the steam from the warm chicken and the hot honey, and disintegrated by the time I ate it 5 minutes later. I got my order to-go despite eating in because I anticipated having to box up leftovers, and even that short period of time was enough to make it so that I could no longer hold up the bun and had to eat my sandwich with a fork and knife. It was a food court and there were many food vendors to choose from. We ended in a Southern Comfort food. We sat right by the counter and we saw how they prepared and cooked the food. We ordered the Fried Pickles, Classic Mac & Cheese and Mushroom Gravy Smothered Chicken. In the beginning my husband liked the Mac n Cheese but later on he was tasting it was rich and spicy. The chicken was good but rich in gravy. It had a kick of mild spice too. We enjoyed the fried pickles for the first time trying it. We had the lemon drink in a tetra pack. The side order of was more than enough, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish the full portion. It had a good flavor and was piping hot, just as it should be. My sandwich was honestly phenomenal! It came with two big pieces of chicken, evenly seasoned and the honey I added with each bite... just utter perfection. But the pickles.... they were the star of the show!! I don't even like pickles so that is very telling. They were tangy but spicy, I'm assuming they were made to complement the sandwiches flavors exactly. I wish I ordered a jar of it to go, I was that impressed with the flavor.
