I have nothing but the highest praise for JPS. I had originally called them and set up an appointment in two weeks to remove an old oil tank. A few days later, I noticed that the tank was leaking and I called to see if they could come earlier. They said they were totally booked but would look in to it and most likely it would cost more due to overtime. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any company. This oil tank removal company is a complete disaster from start to finish. They didn't even bother to apply for the required permit -- something so basic that even I, the homeowner, had to point out and explain to them. They told me they were "mailing in the permit application," but when I called the fire department (two days after the job was supposedly completed), I was told that permit applications can only be done online and there was nothing in the system. The fire department also has to inspect the job prior to issuing the certificate, but this company said their job was just to remove the tank, mail the paperwork witht he check, and they were done. Completly AGAINST the fire department protocol! Because of their incompetence, my property closing fell through and didn't happen on the scheduled day. Do you know how stressful and costly that is? All because this so-called "company" doesn't know what they're doing. And if that wasn't enough, the customer service is hands-down the worst I've ever experienced in my life. The owner himself was rude, unprofessional, and acted like I was the problem -- when in reality, his company is the reason everything went wrong. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay as far away from this company as possible. They are unqualified, careless, and completely unprofessional. Zero stars if I could! read more

I can't say enough about Norman and his team. There was a slight mix up on my appointment, but even when I said I'd be ok rescheduling, they still made it happen. They showed up even faster than I had expected, and got to work immediately. I don't think anyone needs to be told this is a messy Job, but you couldn't even tell there was ever an oil tank there when they left. I'd recommend JPS any and every day! I contacted Jacobs Property Solutions about two weeks ago for a pricing. Kelly was very through in her questioning and the price was more than satisfactory. There was a SNAFU the first time we tried to get the project done because of a problem with a vehicle but they got back to me immediately about the situation. We rescheduled the appointment. They came right on time and were very efficient and through. The oil tank was gone in less than two hours and that included pumping 200 gallons to empty the tank. Like dealing with the Mafia! After cancelling their first appointment to remove an oil tank on day of (after I had paid someone drive from MA to meet them & let them in), when they finally came they managed to cut the vent pipe of a different (still in use) oil tank on the OPPOSITE side of the house (don't me how that could happen). The person who I paid to meet them was going to give them a check but because they did not complete the job that day (due to cutting the wrong pipe) did not. They said they would be back the next day to fix it but never showed up in the agreed upon 4 hour slot, while a tenant was waiting to let them in until she had to leave by 5pm. No apologies. Finally came at 3:30 the next day (Friday) to fix the pipe while another tenant waited around all day to let them in. Jacobs then texts me a demand for Venmo payment at 3:45pm Friday. I was not available at that time, which he immediately assumed meant I was not intending to pay him. On Friday evening I was not able to get Venmo to work for me & since it was after 5pm decided to call their office Monday morning (at least Kelly, their receptionist, is friendly & normal). But at 7am on Saturday I was woken up by a call from Jacobs which I sent to VM, followed by 3 nasty consecutive text messages from Jacobs, including this, "If we don't receive the payment by 9am your oil tank and oil are being brought back to the property. You e called and text us dozens of times, but conveniently don't respond when it's time to pay for your service." He flat out lied about the emails & multiple calls, never alologized for the inconvenience caused by their screw up (and implied that I should be grateful they came back to fix the $40 pipe they had sawn off!). Ultimately I was unable to resolve the Venmo issue (I had offered to pay by Zelle, Venno, check or credit card) and he charged 5% for credit card. So yes the tank is out, but Jacobs' rudeness, threats & paranoia leaves me 100% NOT a satisfied customer. read more

Don't waste your time, they are not reliable. They are $100 cheaper for a reason. They cancelled my appointment three times over the course of a month and half. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but threw times! In the end, I think they were being untruthful. There are much better companies out there. read more

The company claims to offer low rates on oil tank removal. They fail to tell you that their customer service sucks and they don't return phone calls, texts or emails. Instead of scheduling a date for the removal, they say, "we'll be in your town on such and such a day" and then give you a lame excuse of why they won't be coming. Then on the next day that they'll "be in the area" and there is a rain storm they say it's entirely dependent on the weather and they'll "let you know" but never actually let you know.
