I'm not sure there is anything more I can write in praise of Dr. Moritz and his staff. From day one, Dr. Moritz provided me with the best care, as a patient receiving well care and during my pregnancy, which was high risk and included a complication. With his guidance and care I was able to reach full term and give birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl. I sort out Dr. Moritz for his expertise in high risk pregnancies like mine and I was not disappointed. He was informative and caring. He has the best bedside manner which is genuine and sincere. His staff also, showed the same kind of care. I don't mention the wait to be called in, because once you are with Dr. Moritz, he is treating you and not rushing you out. Also, I would like to praise one of the midwives, Amanda Weingarten, who assisted in the birth of my beautiful baby girl. I may not have another baby, but I am glad to continue care with Dr. Moritz going forward. read more

Dr. Moritz was always extremely late for my appointments. This posed a lot of extra stress for me as a working mother. At times I expressed my frustration with the wait times. I understand that emergencies arise, but this seemed like every day was an emergency. On the day of my scheduled c-section, Dr. Moritz turned to my mother and husband and told them that I'm a "nasty woman", not what you want to hear from a man who is about to cut open your stomach and deliver your baby. This was my second c-section but my first with Dr. Moritz. I had a much more difficult recovery than my first which was an emergency c-section. I just also learned that it left me with an isthmocele and I may need to have my uterus removed. As a warning to all other women, save yourself and find another doctor. read more

So my appointment was at 2:15pm and I didn't see doctor till 3:30pm. Doc Moritz was funny, personable, but is he worth the over an hour wait? Absolutely no, and here's why: I went to see a different OB earlier that week, she saw me 5min after my appointment time. She gave me a brochure, plus a millions handouts. After ultrasound, she sat down with my husband and I and went over all the details from important weeks to how the birth center works. It felt almost too much information, in a good way. Here, I received absolutely zero information . I did get to ask questions, but my questions are mostly focused on foods/supplements, and doctor Moritz didn't really provide any extra information other than answering my questions. When I left and tried to make next appointment, I was given a 11:15am, because there's no earlier openings. I asked whether the wait would be this long. The front desk told me "it'd be depend on how many patients he put to the 10am". I mean didn't you just tell me there's nothing before 11:15? But the doctor has discretion to put his long time or favorite patients above everyone else?! To me that's very disrespectful of everyone else's time. In summary, is he a good doctor? Yes. Wonderful doctor. I just had dr Moritz deliver my baby boy last month. The delivery was great- a planned c section that is healing nicely. Recovery has been quick and the overall experience very positive. I've been going to dr Moritz for this pregnancy and every appointment left me reassured and at ease about anything I was worried about. Dr Moritz takes a light hearted approach- with humor and a stress free attitude. There are some wait times in the office, but not hours like the previous reviews indicated. I never had to wait more than an hour and I've gone at different times of the day. The office is great- Rosa and other staff were wonderful and very helpful. I also met all of the other doctors in the same practice and they were great. The birthing hospital was also a pleasant surprise- New York Presbyterian lower Manhattan Weill Cornell. Attentive staff and great care available to mothers and babies. It's a smaller hospital so you get the attention you deserve. I highly recommend dr Moritz to anyone expecting a little one. Dr. Moritz delivered my baby last September. I got a serious infection after birth and was re-hospitalized at NYP on the UES, and I felt abandoned by him. He didn't follow up with the doctors at the hospital, and I was their for 10 days separated from my baby. After I left the hospital, he never followed up, and every time I call for an appointment they can't get me in for months. I'm very disappointed with the whole experience, and definitely felt like patient care wasn't his priority. He has a great personality, and very likable. Here's the thing. I came to Dr. Moritz's office at the recommendation of a dear friend of mine. I was coming off of a time of not having any health insurance, and a terrible experience with Planned Parenthood. Dr. Moritz was sent from heaven then. Until today, I had been his patient for about 7 years. But in the last 2 years, I've had terrible experiences with his office. It's apparent that Dr. Moritz has taken on WAY too many patients. In the last two years I've struggled to make appointments and had to make them MONTHS in advance. Getting ahold of his office is a nightmare. Being on hold for over half an hour, being hung up on multiple times. Every single time I have seen him I have waited for over an hour. Last year, they tried to cancel my yearly on the day of. I had to throw a fit in order to be seen. The appointment was fine, but I felt rushed. Then, they NEVER sent me my test results and I had to call multiple times to finally connect with someone that would help me. And they never apologized. I have also had multiple problems with them calling in prescriptions for me. I don't know why I didn't find another Dr. then and there. Fast forward to this week. I had an appointment next week, 9/24. They called me Wednesday to confirm my insurance number because they had it written down wrong (?) Fine. But then today I get a message that they are canceling my appointment. I am furious. I call back, and they tell me that Dr. Moritz is planning on opening his own practice and moving offices, so they must cancel my appointment. I was given absolutely NO notice about this in advance. Apparently, his new office is not set up yet, so I couldn't have made a new appointment anytime soon. I asked for my medical records to be sent to me immediately. I had recommended Dr. Moritz to 2 of my friends over the years, both of whom couldn't stand the way his office was run, and switched doctors. I don't know why I didn't follow suit sooner. I think Dr. Moritz is a good doctor, but if he cares so much about his patients, why isn't his office run in a way that values customer service? I deserve better care and treatment. I'm switching to another doctor that a friend recommended to me in Soho. They were able to schedule an appointment with me for next week. read more

I went with my wife on two appointments. Waited 2.5 hours each time before anyone would see us! She decided we will switch doctors. The staff wasn't even apologetic... they said "we often have people wait over 2 hours." Shockingly rude. They might as well just give you a date and tell you will wait all day - the actual time of the appointment is completely irrelevant! Dr. Moritz himself is great. He spends a good amount of time with you and doesn't seem to be in a rush. That being said, it's not worth it to be his patient! Every single time I've had an appointment it's been at least an hour and a half wait in the waiting room. This is completely standard for the office and everyone expects it who goes there, but it doesn't make it less frustrating! Also, they are booked months and months out, even for a returning patient. I can't say enough good things about Dr Moritz. When I found out I was pregnant a second time, one of my (many) reasons to be delighted about it was that I would get to visit more often. He's a well rounded professional, obviously expert in his field, but also so careful and attentive to his patients, which I find very rare and all the more precious. I was lucky enough to have a "boring" pregnancy the first time around, but never felt I was a boring patient to him. He always answered my questions carefully, with an ability to give you the story straight and explain reasons of concerns when they exist, while remaining very reassuring indeed. For my second pregnancy I decided to spice it up and broke my ankle in my 32nd week. I don't know what I would have done without him: he saw me right away to make sure the baby was fine (she is), sent me for some XRays and recommended a great orthopedic surgeon. I like that he is decisive and helped me decide the best course of action for my ankle. He was present at every step. I have now two hopes for the last few weeks: - that my baby stays put until i can walk on my two feet; - that Dr Moritz delivers her. An added bonus for the many French speakers in NYC: he speaks fluent French an also knows the French healthcare system very well. Lastly: yes there is a wait and yes can be frustrating. But worth it. His staff (Rosa and Telsa) are always very helpful and so kind. read more

I love Dr. Moritz. He is thoughtful, patient, intelligent and kind, as is his staff. He doesn't talk down to his patient, is a great listener and lovvvves to tease. My complaint, is that it literally takes me three phone calls to the office and often an email to the office manager to get a single phone call returned. It is exhausting. Truly not something I have the time for (in addition to having a job). To get one recent call returned, for example, I had (over the course of 10 patient days) to leave two messages, email the office manager, call 4 times because no one was picking up, then have one call answered, have the call dropped, then email the office manager again. UPDATE: I am due any day and still love Moritz and his team. The team is aware of, and equally frustrated by, the phone issues -- a tip: make sure to ask for their advice re. how to reach the office on various matters. Often, the answer is email, and the replies are timely. The phones are a pain the ass but the team here is so hard working (especially Rosa) and I feel terribly not acknowledging that you've just got to get their advice on how to get feedback and ask questions. This guy is terrible. He just shut his practice down on us. No warning, no heads up and no help finding a replacement. AND my wife is due in 6 weeks so no other practice will take us. So we are stuck with some 1st year. All this aside, our appointments were brief and more about his fucking art collection than our baby. Ok. He has a great personality....he can sometimes be a little too familiar and say something rude.... happened on several occasions. He probably doesn't even realize. Very knowledgeable and good at what he does.The office staff is pretty nice. I would suggest getting in the office very early or late when you don't have anything else to do later. His office assistant Rosa is great. The one thing I can't stand about the office is their inability to fit you in the schedule. He is always booked at least a month ahead. I like that you can email or text him if you have some concerns that need immediate attention. I wish more doctors would do that. If you do reach out to him don't do it for every little thing. I can imagine that would get annoying to him at some point and no one wants to lose that privilege :) read more

I went in for a regular yearly gynecological check up (I am not pregnant) and had a very pleasurable and comfortable experience with Dr. Hanna! Dr. Moritz is the best! When I learned I was pregnant with twins my former OBGYN practice told me they wouldn't be able to treat me during my pregnancy as I was a high risk patient. I wanted to find a doctor who had great experience with twins and high risk cases, but also who incorporated some more natural practices and methodologies. We were so excited and LUCKY to find Dr. Moritz. He was everything we were looking for and more. Not only did he have the high risk experience we needed, he also works with a team of midwives and was affiliated with the renowned birthing center at NYP. While we couldn't take advantage of these, he supported my doing acupuncture and other less traditional practices. The doc also has amazing bedside manner. He brings humor and clarity to what could have been a high stress time. His nature is super fun and caring even when when having serious conversations. For example, from the start he walked us though all of the stages with a twin pregnancy along with the associated potential risks. This could have been a scary conversation, but it wasn't at all. It was reassuring to know everything that could happen from the start were armed with the necessary knowledge. I was lucky enough to have a relatively easy twin pregnancy with just a couple hiccups along the way (short cervix, high blood pressure and kidney stones). Moritz responds to emails immediately and is always available to help and provide a course of treatment. I also had to have a c-section due to eclampsia at the end of my pregnancy. He is confident, fast, skilled and also brings light hearted fun to the OR. We couldn't have felt more confident in any other hands. My husband and I absolutely LOVE Moritz and couldn't recommend him more. If we decide to have any more babies, you bet we'll be working with him. He is the best out there! read more

Dr. Moritz is the best. He always makes me feel at ease and gives me information in a way that's not overwhelming or scary. I also love that he doesn't push medication and recommends alternatives like acupuncture for endometriosis. When he is with you, he never makes you feel rushed. He does as much as he can in his office (i.e. he'll do an ultrasound there and only send you for a transvaginal or MRI if necessary) where other doctors had me going for ultrasounds every few months (which are super uncomfortable, expensive and a time drain!). Yes, there are long wait times to see him, but I just bring some work to do or a book to read. He's definitely worth the wait. read more

I was a patient of Dr Moritz during my pregnancy. He has wonderful bedside manners, is easy to talk to and has a great sense of humor. However, I didn't appreciate that I always had to wait 2 hours to see him, especially because once he comes in the room the visit is so rushed. I once called ahead of my appointment to check on the wait time, told them I was with my toddler so wanted to try to come as close to the time I would be seen as possible (to avoid meltdowns) and was told to come in 15 min past my appointment time. I was seen 2:30 hours later. Awful attitude from his nurse, who refused to tell me how much longer I had to wait. She basically said I could keep on waiting (indefinitely) or go home. I was really looking forward to delivering with him as his reviews are wonderful, but I should have asked ahead of time how likely that would be. Came to find out pretty late in the game that he attends deliveries only once per week and one weekend a month, so getting Dr Moritz is like winning the lottery. I ended up delivering with a different practitioner from his group and it was not a good experience unfortunately. I also found the hospital to be awful for births (but you can look at those reviews separately) so I wouldn't return if I got pregnant again just to avoid Roosevelt. Making appointments post csection was disappointing. I had to wait three weeks for my first check up and for my follow up they weren't giving me availability until past three months, so I had to switch providers. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone from his staff to send me my medical records. It took me two months when I finally emailed Dr Moritz about it. read more

I used Dr Moritz for my first baby. He was funny and very nice and quite helpful during the whole pregnancy. From a medical point of view I think he was a good Dr although he did not deliver my baby as we was off duty that night. The problem with his practice is that you have to wait up to 3h to see him even when you are 9 months pregnant and utterly uncomfortable. In addition, I learned through a new friend that also used him for her pregnancies that he has his "favorites" and that she never had to wait as so many of us did and lost countless hours of our time. She simply had to email or text to let him now she was on her way and was taken right through a consultation. Outrageous! That shows a complete lack of respect. I would NOT recommend his practice to anyone. I picked a very serious practice for me second baby and NEVER had to wait more that 30mn TOP with excellent and super efficient service. read more

I saw Dr. Moritz for the first time about a month ago. He answered all my questions and was very friendly and professional. His nurse (I forgot get name) also very sweet. I would give 4.5 points of I could, but only for the receptionists. I was there early for my appointment. I had heard about the long wait times, which is not a big deal. When I first got there I asked if I needed to fill anything out and they told me to have a seat and they would call me up to get the paperwork. After almost 45 minutes I checked in with them and they said they were just about to call me over... Didn't seem like it though. Once the paperwork was filled out, everything was great! read more

It is strange to me to review a doctor, because I originate from the UK where healthcare is a national service rather than a business. With that in mind, I would give Dr. Moritz six stars if I could because everything about his practice is focused on the patient. I did not have an uncomplicated pregnancy as I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which was quite a shock. Dr M was really supportive referring me immediately to the diabetes in pregnancy program at Roosevelt Hospital where he delivers. I felt very well looked after. His team - Delsa and Rosa - are lovely. Further, Dr M responded to every question I had within minutes (regardless of the time of day). I also found that Dr M truly came through as I was approaching delivery. He is decisive. You can trust him completely. He was constantly working for a natural birth for me even though the pressure was on for an inducement due to the GD. He even suggested an acupuncturist to try and help move labor along naturally. At my final appointment, he told me not to stray too far from the hospital and he was quite right. I went into labor that same night and delivered my son early the next morning. So it is true that Dr M is consistently rated as one of America's top doctors and I even believe it is true that he maintains a celebrity client list. But so much more important to me is his warm, level headed and caring approach to every single patient that he sees - not to mention his very great sense of humor. Like many on this site, my one and only concern is that after the birth of my lovely son I no longer see him. However, I will be back for baby number two! read more

This is not a review of the doctor, but rather my overall experience. I have no doubt that Dr. Moritz is a knowledgeable doctor, but my experience with the practice led me to cancel my follow-up visit and schedule with another doctor. Firstly, I went in for a scheduled visit and had to wait over an hour to be seen. It's a busy Manhattan medical office, I get it, but I'd prefer to not expect this. Maybe they are overbooked? Secondly, my annual prescription was called in for less than a year, so I wrote a message through the patient portal to please write for the rest of the year. I got a message that this had been done, but I called my Pharmacy, and disturbingly, the new call-in was for the wrong medicine. I wrote another message and the doctor then fixed it. But seriously, I shouldn't have had to message at all to get my prescription right. Thirdly, i went in for a preventative well exam and and somehow ended up with over $100 in copays (a problem I never had at any other office). According to my health insurance, apparently it's because they coded my pap as non-preventative? I emailed the office manager and she said she would work it out with the lab and to give her 10 days. She was polite and responsive via email. However, A few weeks later I called the lab because i received the bill from them (previously I just saw it on my EOB) and they told me they were never contacted from my doctors office on my behalf according to their notes. All I know is what I'm told, but I wasn't happy. The lab then sent it to customer solutions and took care of it for me, which was super easy, but again, I shouldn't have had to even deal with it. Finally, the only complaint I had about my actual experience with the doctor is that he asked me why I would want to come in if I wasn't trying to have a baby. Maybe he just meant "what brings you in today" but as a young working woman trying to break the glass ceiling in Manhattan, I took offense. Women go to doctors for preventative and diagnostic reasons other than procreation. He was nice and personable and again maybe didn't mean it the way I interpreted it, but maybe I just prefer a doctor who is more sensitive to not even mistakenly imply that I'd only need to go to a Gyno if I'm trying to have a baby. read more

Not a good doctor. Dr. Moritz had his practice closed by NY Presbyterian and I had to find another doctor in the middle of my pregnancy. The new doctors (I've seen three in the new practice) have mentioned that he failed to test my urine samples for the past few months even though urine samples were provided at each and every appointment as requested. He also did not have me take two blood tests which were apparently required, so I had to take them at the new practice, a few months late. Dr. Moritz also knew I was anemic but did not want to renew my iron pill prescription even though he never did a blood test to verify my iron levels. He said "you'll be fine" and ran away to his next appointment - it is a good thing that he isn't an alarmist, but a testing the blood to ensure that I will indeed "be fine" wouldn't have been too much to do. It turns out, I need more iron pills, which were just prescribed by my new doctor. The appointments with him lasted less than 5 minutes. I am not exaggerating and my husband and I decided to set a timer on our phones, just for 'fun'. It was 4.5 minutes on average. He was always late, which I did not mind so much if I had had the attention I needed during the appointments. He doesn't like questions. And clearly doesn't have time to explain anything to you - he sends you directly to his assistant (Rosa, who is very nice but clearly not a doctor...) and then cuts the conversation short so he can leave. I will say that he did respond to text messages / emails promptly, however his responses were never super helpful. But he did respond, so I thought I would note this as well. Overall it was a very bad experience having him as a doctor and even though it was distressful to hear his practice closed and that I had a week to find a new doctor; I am so glad I have a new doctor now that isn't him! read more

I can credit the safe delivery of my baby boy to the team at LoMa OBGYN. After being diagnosed with EDS 3 ( a form of Hyper mobility) during my pregnancy there were a few concerns over the risks associated with a natural delivery. Initially the option to have a C-Section was presented as the safest option but after a lot of thought I decided I wanted a natural delivery where possible. Dr. Mortitz listened to my concerns of having a c-section (poor wound healing due to my condition, longer recovery due to previous back surgeries, inability to care for my newborn in the way I would like to straight after birth) and worked closely with me to draw up a safe and realistic birth plan. Due to a previous back surgery I was also concerned I would be unable to have a epidural so Dr. Moritz took the time to investigate options for me and arranged for me to speak with the anesthesiologist in advance of my due date. All of his support and guidance helped me achieve the delivery I had wished for. Thanks to the him and the team at LoMa and Wells Cornell Downtown I delivered a healthy baby boy at 37 weeks. Dr. Jew from LoMa was the OB on the day and he was simply fantastic. He worked hard to ensure I delivered my baby safely and provided such amazing care and dedication. He visited me twice beforeI left the hospital to ensure I was recovering well and Dr. Moritz also called me on the day of my delivery to see how I was. Fantastic care. Highly recommend. read more

Impossible to get an appointment. Office staff must take two hour lunches despite their 12 - 1 lunch break. Each time I called at 1.30pm - there was nobody to pick up the phone. Once you get to see the Doctor, he will give you 5 min max. I have never felt so much pain during my regular exam and I have seen my fair share of Gynos over the years. The worst part was that he was going in and out of the room during my appointment - as if to deal with some other patient? Either way, the entire appointment was uncomfortable, super rushed, and massive disappointment. read more

His medical support is spot on & he had even taken a little time to help me personally w some great conversation & advice; (the nature of OBGYN can be so personal.). I've been seeing him for 5+ years now &, thank God, the waiting time has dropped dramatically. That did suck- as other ratings stated. He never rushes which makes me feel very calm. He will call with results to reassure me.He is so compassionate and it shows in the manner in which he treats me. I agree the wait time is frustrating, but nowhere else have I gotten such personal, friendly, and deeply caring treatment- to the point that I'm willing to suck it up on the wait time. Granted, I might feel differently when I'm the size of an elephant but so far so good. Dr. M was also super awesome with my husband, who is also a medical professional. He answered complicated (way over MY head) technical questions from my husband about what we were seeing, feeling, doing. He's as "real" as they come and I appreciate his frank and jovial demeanor. The problem with Dr. Moritz's office is that he has way too many patients and his office staff is either overwhelmed and can't handle the heavy patient load or just doesn't care that much about the patients. I had been seeing him for a few years and he himself was very personable and was I believe a knowledge doctor. But the waits were ridiculous! I often waited 2 hours to be seen and once in the room would only be seen for 15 minutes. Also Ive had his staff cancel my appointments several times in a row and calling his office I would be on hold for 15 minutes or just hung up on. I was seeing him while I was pregnant and had the unfortunate experience of suffering a late term miscarriage (no fault of anyone). He and his office knew that this happened to me when I was admitted at another hospital but even after such a serious tragic event, I was not able to get a follow up appointment with him until 1 month after my miscarriage. I ended up being readmitted into another hospital closer to my job after suffering complications from the miscarriage. Even though I had confirmed my appointment with him that day and was rushed to the hospital shortly after therefore missing my appointment, no one called from the office to see why I had missed my appointment. Not that day, not ever. That was the last straw for me because I had nearly died and there was no follow up from his office. Which was extremely upsetting because they were aware of my recent miscarriage. Needless to say, I stopped seeing him. Moral to the story is that even if someone is said to be best doctor there is, if he has no follow through and has an office that doesn't care enough about offering the best patient care, that doctor is just as bad as a sub par doctor. read more

Dr. Moritz and his practice are one of a kind in a city that can otherwise be difficult to navigate. They are true professionals, possess great integrity and genuinely care for their patients. We felt incredibly lucky to be under Dr Moritz's care and have such an excellent physician staying so closely abreast of my pregnancy. I was initially drawn to the practice for its uniqueness in New York City, with high hopes of delivering in the New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan birthing center. That was not possible due to hypertension during the pregnancy, which ended up leading to a host of other pregnancy complications. Dr. Moritz blew me away by helping me to take charge of the situation from the first day that we walked into his office, leaving me reassured that I was in the hands of an excellent and compassionate doctor. Throughout the pregnancy I had access to him by email and he asked me to send him daily blood pressure readings and questions. He carefully monitored my pregnancy and was incredibly responsive over email 24/7. The response time he demonstrated was quite amazing, and made it very easy to get all my questions answered promptly without having to call the office (that being said, the office staff was amazing; everyone from the nurses to reception to his assistant were incredibly kind, efficient and hard working). Not to mention that Dr Moritz always patiently answered my lists of questions prepared for in person appointments, no matter how small the question. He really cares for his patients. When a more serious complication arose that would potentially require me to deliver my daughter two months early and in a Level 3 NICU, Dr. Moritz helped me find a maternal fetal medicine practice that could help. Dr Moritz stuck with us until the day that my daughter was born (and after), advocating for me and remaining a part of my care team though he couldn't physically deliver me at that hospital. I felt so supported and grateful as it was not easy to deviate so far from my plan and to be sent to another practice when I had built up a great amount of faith and trust in LOMA Obgyn. I was able to see both practices through the end of the pregnancy, which gave me great peace of mind. In addition, Dr Moritz called me when I was admitted to the hospital to check in - clearly going out of his way since I was transferred to the other practice with 8 physicians of their own. One of the things I most appreciated in the later part of my pregnancy was that while he was always empathetic, he did not sugarcoat or dumb down things for my husband and I (who are not in the medical profession). We were being told many different things by all of the people involved in our care and he always gave his opinion and explanation (and he was ultimately correct). I cannot imagine a better experience with another obgyn practice and will always be grateful for Dr Moritz helping me to stay serene in one of most challenging times of my life. As an aside, the offices are stunning, the wait times really were not bad (I typically did not wait more than a few minutes), and loved the snacks for always hungry pregnant women! read more

I have had the opportunity to have Dr. Moritz as a gynecological surgeon this year, dealing with a frightening set of gynecological issues. He is a consummate professional doctor and surgeon, always present and always able to help me through weeks and weeks of unnerving uncertainty. I have found that Dr. Moritz has been a constant source of comfort, providing me with detailed information about my condition, my options, and then working with me over 5 weeks to arrive at the best solution. He has been available via email at all times, and has answered questions and concerns very quickly, even into the evening. After he performed the surgery and procedure several weeks ago, pathology analyses pointed to the need for further action. When Dr. Moritz first received the report, he went over all the findings, phrase by phrase essentially translating them into English from pathology jargon. This conversation took place by telephone at 7:30 pm. His dedication to his patients is remarkable. I feel very lucky, in this new crazy world of medicine, to have had a caring, committed doctor at my side. Yesterday I had an appointment with an oncological surgeon to take the next step, and Dr. Moritz had spoken to him a number of times to prepare this oncological surgeon for our appointment, including yesterday morning! I would say that, whether you are seeing Dr. Moritz to deliver your baby, or like me, as an older client to deal with gynecological issues later in life, you will have an amazing professional partner on your journey, always present and always reassuring, and the consummate problem solver. His administrative manager, Rosa, has the same work ethic as Dr. Moritz, and is very supportive. read more

Dr. Moritz is an excellent doctor. This is my third pregnancy with him and I will definitely continue to keep him as a doctor, through more pregnancies. He is hilarious, intelligent and always on top of new technologies and medicine. He works constantly and I often wonder if he takes time to eat lunch! My first pregnancy was a complete joy with him. I had no clue how things worked because I was the first of my friends in NYC to have a child and he led me through everything beautifully. He also understood my phobias and worked hard to let me have as much of my natural birth plan as possible, but also, with kindness and firmness, told me when we had to change a few things to make everything as safe as possible for me and my son. I am grateful for that. My second pregnancy was a miscarriage and he not only had amazing bedside manner, as I dealt with the shock of finding out my baby had died, but respected my religious beliefs. He was so sensitive about this tragedy and just let me cry and held my hand. Dr. Moritz did an amazing job with the operation that followed. I was healed in no time and was able to get pregnant a month after I had the D & C. My third pregnancy with my daughter has been wonderful too. Again, he understands my phobias, and even though I've never lost the weight after the first child, has always been understanding. He is a gem. I am highly critical of the medical world, but Dr. Moritz deserves high acclamation. As far as the reviews of him being a better doctor to celebrities, I can't imagine how that is possible! I feel very well taken care of when I go into his office. He pays attention to me and always has some great info and quips. Dr. Moritz is the gem of NYC. He accepted me as a patient when I was already 15weeks into my pregnancy as I wanted to give birth in the city. I expressed my needs and concerns and he listened and attended to each and everyone of my needs.I mentioned how I wanted to give birth in the birthing center and how it seemed impossible and he got me in within 1 second! I recently had a false alarm scare that left me and my husband in hysterics all evening. We contacted Dr. Moritz and he asked to see me right away. He listened to everything I had to say and eased my concerns. It ended up being a dating issue which was mistaken by my previous doctors out on the island and he called it right away. Not only was he right about that but he also looked at our baby on the ultrasound early on and said we'd be having a baby girl...and we are:) Dr. Moritz and the Midwives are the best in NYC by far. And Jessica who works in the office deserves a promotion for her kindness and paitience. read more

I have been Dr. Mortiz's patient for over 15 years, and I highly recommend him. Yes, the wait times in his office can be lengthy, but he absolutely is worth the wait. When he sees you, he takes his time to answer all of your questions and doesn't rush. Initially, I saw him only as a GYN patient, then as an OB patient through two pregnancies and births. He is an excellent doctor: thorough, kind, skilled, thoughtful, and understanding. He is always on top of the latest in medical technologies and procedures, and his bedside manner is unmatched. He's quite funny and, even in the most tense moments, he can put a smile on your face. Both of my births were natural (in the hospital), and he was absolutely amazing. He worked with both my husband and I as well as my birth doula (who he recommended and was excellent, too) to make sure our needs were met during my pregnancies and births. Now that I'm a GYN patient again, he is still a joy to see. Even when you're not in his office, he will come through for you. Recently, I had a health scare, and Dr. Moritz recommended a specialist. When I had trouble getting an appointment in a timely manner, Dr. Moritz stepped in to make sure I got an appointment the very next morning. The specialist was terrific; in fact, any specialist or medical recommendations Dr. Moritz has made for me have been great. I'm not a celebrity or famous, but Dr. Moritz will make you feel as though you are. read more
