Hot and spicy shrimp lunch special with fried rice
Bee W.

We had lunch here as it came highly recommended. Parking in private lot. Greeted upon entering. Sat down and received menus and beverage order taken. We looked at the menu and made our decisions. He went with sesame chicken and myself hot and spicy shrimp. Both were lunch specials and came with a spring roll and soup. The hot and sour soup was tangy with a little spice but not tasty. The spring roll ok. The shrimp was not good. Not bad but not inspiring. The fried rice was lackluster. Not enough egg or taste. He said his sesame chicken was average. The place is nice and large with three dining areas. And the service is good. That's the fourth star. It's a local favorite but it's not for me.

Decimated lemon chicken.

This was a great stop for lunch. Wide selection of choices for lunch at great prices. Fresh prepared entrees rather than a buffet. I don't get to eat Asian food very often unless I am by myself because my wife is a picky eater and has trouble finding things to eat. Discovering that they have the best lemon chicken that she has had anywhere was a wonderful plus. I had the Kung Pao chicken and my uncle had the Kung Pao shrimp and we both enjoyed ours. Lunch comes with a soup choice and egg roll and we shared the picky eater's egg roll as well. The soup and egg roll were delicious as well. Service was excellent and attentive. The restaurant was cozy with multiple rooms with several tables. May have been someone's house in a past life.

I stopped in to take out some food yesterday and wound up throwing it away. This restaurant uses so much salt you can barely taste the food. I ordered their pork lo mein lunch, and I can only say that it was a disgusting congealed salty mess and not one vegetable to be seen. Never again!

We have never been disappointed with going here. It is the best Chinese food in the area. The food is always fresh. Today one of the employees were snapping fresh peas at the table next to us. Very impressed.

**Ambiance** The…read morerestaurant itself is a decent size with plenty of seating and large booths, so it would be comfortable for families or larger groups. **Service** Service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The staff spoke English as well as either Cantonese or Mandarin, which initially gave me high hopes for the food. **Food** I won't lie--I came in with pretty moderate expectations. After chatting with the staff in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I thought we were in for a really authentic meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We ordered five dishes, and it quickly became apparent that the food is heavily catered toward American tastes. Several dishes contained ingredients that traditionally wouldn't be included, while other key ingredients were missing altogether. The biggest issue for me was the sweetness. Three of the five dishes were noticeably sweet, which isn't what I expected from the dishes we ordered. The standout dish of the meal was the Mongolian Beef. It was flavorful and wasn't overly sweet. That said, it lacked the spice I typically associate with the dish. The Mapo Tofu was probably the biggest surprise. It was missing the ground pork that usually gives the dish so much flavor and texture. Instead, it included bell peppers, onions, and water chestnuts--ingredients I've personally never seen in Mapo Tofu. Rather than being spicy and numbing, the dominant flavor was sweetness. The Chicken Pan-Fried Noodles were difficult to enjoy. The sauce was very sweet, and the noodles were cooked to the point where they were tough and chewy. Instead of the thinner noodles commonly used for this dish, they used thick noodles that reminded me more of lo mein. We also ordered a Beef and Scallion dish. It felt more like a beef chop suey variation with scallions added. The scallions themselves were cooked perfectly, but once again the sauce leaned much sweeter than expected. The Hot and Sour Soup was actually the first item to arrive. I jokingly told my family that if the soup wasn't good, I might be worried about the rest of the meal because hot and sour soup is one of those dishes that really showcases balance and technique. Unfortunately, it ended up confirming my concerns. It lacked the bold sour and spicy flavors that make the dish so enjoyable. By the end of the meal, we had a lot of leftovers. The only items we brought home were the Mongolian Beef and a few pieces of beef picked out from the Beef and Scallion dish. **Overall** This restaurant may appeal to diners who enjoy sweeter, Americanized Chinese food, but it wasn't for me. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't personally recommend it to anyone looking for the flavors and dishes I grew up eating.

They came with soup and choice of egg roll or wonton. The wonton soup was delicious with two wrll stuffed tender wontons and flavorful broth. Egg rolls were nicely fried. The beef fried rice did need additional soy sauce and some salt but was great after that. Lots of big pieces of meat and veggies. They added bean sprouts for us too! The chicken was perfect just as it is! During pickup the restaurant and bathrooms were clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall great experience!

It's worth trying some more traditional Chinese dishes. We went in last night, but couldn't even take pics before we started eating, because we just wanted to dig in. My favorite has always been the beef with flat noodles I like the chewiness of rice flat noodles, but trying the pork belly with the Chinese cabbage might have taken the new top spot for a go to comforting dish. I crave Salt and Pepper shrimp and all the peppers onions and garlic that comes on it elevate the flavor of the perfectly cooked shrimp. I don't want to forget to mention the chicken with ginger in scallions, it has chunks of ginger so if you like ginger you'll love this dish that is balanced by the scallions not to mention the chicken was perfectly tender. We also had the egg rolls (vegetarian) and wontons to start. They were both perfectly crispy, and the respective sauces were nice. I don't mind my 45 minute drive just to eat here because it always hits the spot.

I had the general Soos chicken and it was closer to chicken jerky than anything else. The soy sauce packets were pretty good and the white rice was not too dry. Summary, this place sucks.
