Vincent was great! He was a handsome courteous young man, with a pleasant attitude. He Seated me, got me water, Took my order, delivered my soup....then Jenny took over. Yuk! She was on her phone constantly, yak,yak.and more yak. It was very rude. I felt invisible. She yak yaked while dropping my plates. I tipped her poorly for making her phone calls more important than conversing with a customer. She should take notes from Vincent! He was kind, helpful and respected me. If he would have stayed untill I departed , I would have tipped him $8.00. I felt perplexed. Leaving this review hopefully will help Vincent! Shane was our waiter. He was very nice and patient while we decided what to order. Tony and I started with fried shrimp that came with a sesame sauce. For our entrees, he had the "Ants climbing a tree" and I had the Mu Shu pork. Both were excellent. Big portions! Leftovers! The service was good. The ambiance is nice. The food... disappointing. I ordered a noodle dish with tofu. The tofu was brown. I thought maybe it was brown from the flavoring, no, it was because it was super deep fried. It was not flavored at all. Unfortunately, it tasted like everything was put together and that's it, no sauce, no flavor at all. It's like they simplified the food for the worse. People haven't had the chance to eat good Chinese food and so they think that this is good. If you are looking for Chinese food that is comparable to a restaurant jn a bigger city, don't bother. If you want good Chinese food, order from Jade Garden in Castle Hayne and eat it at home. Or print off a recipe from Woks of Life and make it at home. read more

Our server was busy and felt a little rushed..no refills on drinks till we were ready to leave..but the kicker was at the end when you get the Chinese fortune cookie, totally stale and yucky! Super easy to order and pay online. And best part was it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. The website listed all the instruction to pickup so we knew exactly what to do when we got there. We ordered the Mu Shu pork and General tso's chicken. A good amount of food. They included a small box of edamame too. They forgot the brown rice that I selected with the mu shu but it came with wraps/pancakes which was unexpected since I'd never ordered mu shu before. But it was very good with the hoisin sauce. As I write, they are doing takeout only, with online ordering that gives clear text message updates and easy pickup at a table at the door. The menu has a few clearly marked vegetarian things, and a ma po tofu seems like a reasonable classic dish to judge them on. I asked for very spicy, and it came drowning in chili oil. I added bok choy, which I discovered pleasantly chopped so as to blend in better, but found a few other vegetables floating in my very full takeout container as well. I'm always pleased for brown rice as an option, and they gave me some edamame for some reason as well, plus a bunch of fortune cookies. Plenty of food. I could imagine the menu expanding a bit for me, but I was happy with what I got. read more

We ordered chicken with broccoli, the Szechuan eggplant and steamed pork dumplings, all exceptional. Large portions, enough for lunch tomorrow, and not heavy like you sometimes feel after Chinese food. There are some typical "Chinese dishes" on the menu, but most of the offerings are a bit different and could be described as "upscale Chinese." Inflation is real, but the 2-3 pieces of "meat-like" substance in my dish was not beef! it was all gristle and it was sparse! when I called back, the guy argued with me and stated that I "ordered onions". then he said I ordered "no green onions" so they "gave me more onions". when I took the dish back in (and he saw all of the green onions), he then accused me of eating all of the "meat" out of the dish! We came in to celebrate my father's 74th birthday on a busy Friday night just to find that they'd forgotten to make a reservation. To make a last minute unplanned seating a little more hectic I had my 11 month old in tow and needed a little extra space to boot! My husband had the twice fried pork and it was crisp and succulent all at the same time. I ordered the coconut shrimp with candied walnuts and it may be the most beautiful dish I've ever eaten. The shhrimp were huge - tiger shrimp sized! Juicy, perfection! Every single bite was a delight. My husband hates coconut and hee kept stealing bites!! My stepmom orders an eggplant and chicken ddish that was mind blowing! My baby tried wwggplant for the first time and I'm afraid she'll never find it the same. Spoiled from the start it just melted in your mouth. Tried this place for the first time. It has a very nice ambiance with very friendly and attentive staff. We started with the Dim Sum appetizer which were nicely steamed. It was a combination of shrimp, pork and vegetables. All were good and served with a nice chili oil. For the main course we shared the Asian catfish and Mongolian Beef. The catfish was a breaded fried filet served with steamed bok choy and mushrooms. It was good but not exploding with flavor. The Mongolian Beef the same as well. For dessert the lychee cheesecake was a delightful surprise In sum, it was very predictable Americanized Chinese food. You know what you'll be getting and won't be disappointed. This is the best ever 'tucked away' Chinese cuisine with a nice cozy ambiance! The lunch specials are generous and super tasty. The dinners are a bit bigger and I would recommend sharing with others. Coming from San Francisco, we were pleasantly surprised at the delicious food here. In talking with the owners, they worked in San Francisco chinatown and it shows. The mu shu pork is among the best I've ever had anywhere, they don't skimp on the pork. The hong kong style chow mein (with fried noodles) was served in a large salad bowl and authentically prepared. Hands down the best place for Chinese food in Wilmington. I have dined in, taken out, arranged catering and delivery with them. They don't disappoint ever. If you dine in, you will feel relaxed with the nice ambience and clean environment. The decor is very early 20th century Shanghai for me. Very retro and upscale. Servers are nice and friendly. You will have a good dining experience. Last but not the least, the food (albeit Americanized to some extent) has great taste and distinctive flavor.
