I had slept the wrong way and had really bad pain on my right shoulder area and neck when I flew into Bellevue. I made two appointments with Jenny for a 60 min body massage for both sessions within two days because the pain was so bad. Jenny did a great job alleviating the tension and pain, and she listened to my concerns and made me feel very comfortable throughout the sessions. The staff are very welcoming and nice. They were able to book me in for the same day, which is great! the lady who did my massage was not super chatty, nor particularly fluent in English, but that's okay; I wasn't there for a conversation! Wow, what a talented massage therapist! She checked multiple times that the pressure was okay, was professional and really pushed my muscles to the limits. I was very relaxed. She also offered me a water as i left, which was a nice touch. I docked one point as the place was in an odd location, not particularly ambient and there was a lot of construction noise happening very close by and the walls must be fairly thin. Pretty bad customer service. It was a place I regretted going and never coming back again! The lady who gave me a massage complained about the tip I gave (which I thought was more than adequate) and said I should give 30% of the total bill because she gave extra 10 minutes of massaging which's not even true. She literally yelled at me in front of everyone. Tips are supposed to depend only on how much the customer feels happy about the service without the merchant directly asking (or pushing!) for it. That's not how customer service works! They should learn how to get ethic evaluate with customers. I was stunned by the audacity and entitlement. I called Yi Spa on a whim at noon on a Monday asking if I could come in later in the evening. I was happy to be able to come in at 8:30pm (tip: IMHO having a massage before bedtime makes for a great night's sleep!). I had a deep tissue massage with Phuong and she was amazing. "Hurt so good" comes to mind, lol...She knew exactly where the pressure points need to be, and really worked to get those knots out. She focused on my problem areas but also paid attention to other areas to find the root cause of my tension. She also gave some great advice about further treatments and how to avoid the same type of pains in the future. Isabel was also very friendly and great to talk to. The prices are very reasonable especially for Bellevue, and it's so convenient to be able to come in the evening or on the weekend. I will definitely be back! read more

Honestly I have no idea why this place has low reviews. I go to a well known massage chain but chose to do massage here as well since the chain has limited availability. The massage here is excellent and the rooms are clean and quiet. She checked in throughout the massage to ensure the table was warm enough and the pressure was good but she did not chat my ear off like I have had at other places. I have gone twice now and both time were very relaxing and lasted the full time allotted. I tipped a customary 20% and they were quite pleased with the tip and thanked me for paying in cash. Overall it was not a very good experience, the massage itself was not that bad but due to the following three reasons I am giving 2 stars: 1- Tipping is mandatory, the lady asks for 20% tip on top of the session price. 2- There were a lot of noise coming from outside to the room which distracts a lot. 3- Whenever the outside door opened, the lady had to walk outside and talk to the customers. I have chronic pain/stiffness/knots in my shoulder/upper back/neck area, and Faith took her time slowly kneading away the tension while explaining her methods. Fantastic pressure (I can't stand those wimpy "light massages"). Her medical-based approach is phenomenal and exactly what I needed. I am a visitor from Hawaii. Whenever I travel I like to get a massage. My friend, a resident and I didn't have much time to find a place since I got in at 10pm. After settling and realize we needed to find a place for the next day, we did some research and found Yi Spa. It was after midnight and we weren't sure if we would get an appt by morning, we found that they do make online reservations and we booked for 2 at 1:40pm the next day. We arrived alittle early so we walked around nearby and went back 20mins later. They were ready for us. I had the signature massage and my friend had the deep tissue in a separate room. I was a bit uncomfortable being fully naked under the sheets but I tried not to get that to my head. The massage was AMAZING!! I requested to concentrate on upper body and she did an amazing job and also moved to the rest of my body, including arms, legs, even head. She used different techniques and she noticed I have tense muscles below my shoulders and even brought in hot stones. I didn't want the massage to end!! I have been to high class hotels to get expensive massages but this was BY FAR the best massage I have had in years! If I live here I would definitely go back! My friend agrees she had a great massage and seems like she will be back for more. $65 for 60min is a real good deal!!!! read more

Came in on a whim after driving by. Location is a bit random, but I imagine this helps keep the costs down. I work huddled up at a desk all day and then sit in a car for hours and fight traffic. Needless to day I had incredibly tight shoulders and upper back that had honestly bothered me for a week. I came in after driving by and doing a quick Yelp check and they were able to accommodate me ASAP despite being booked. Katie massaged my upper back and Isabel my lower body. They did a fantastic job. As previously mentioned, the rooms are clean with no frills. They do suggest you strip down completely, which is a bit different than what I am used to, but after a short period of feeling uncomfortable I was extremely impressed with both Katie and Isabel's ability to pin point tight areas and attacking them (even if it hurt at some points). They both made sure I was relaxed and never in too much pain. I run a lot, but due to the aging process and my flat feet, I am prone to having some tightness with my planar fascia but Isabel was able to massage and loosen every muscle in my leg which helped immensely. The back massage was rough, but in a good way. With all that tension in my back, I needed a bit of a beating and they did not hold back at all. I will definitely be back a lot. I exercise a lot and cram myself into a car/cubicle/airplane every day so I need the loosening every so often. read more

This was a great treat! No frills massage with a great Chinese masseuse that will cater to what you want! The establishment has 3-4 individual rooms with heated tables. I got an hour $65 deep tissue massage - was probably the best I've had in awhile! She knew I was tense and sore ... it was not a simple rubbing, scared-to-hurt-you kinda massage but that elbow, steady pressure, feels-good-but-hurts type of massage to get out all those knots (of course I got the deep tissue). I was in search of a massage that would not break the bank. Yi Spa was it! I read reviews for spas all over Bellevue and Yi Spa was the winner. It is an interesting location and don't let that stop you. Everything is compact and clean. I needed a lot of work on my back as I sit at the desk and tap all day on the laptop. The knots in my back have taken over and today they met their match. This is the truest of massages I have experienced and walked away better than when I walked in. My only issue is the walls are thin and I could hear a conversation in the entry area. I would suggest that we all simply remember that if the doors are closed, keep voices low as you check out. Won't return. The massage was fine, but near the end of my massage, the owner barged into the room (no knocking!!!) to talk to my massage therapist. They spoke loudly for a minute (which seemed like forever when the door is OPEN and you're NAKED on a table!) and then the owner left. Apparently it had to do with the therapist taking my payment and the Yelp voucher I was using. If the owner can't trust the therapist to deal with it, then she should have stayed until the end of my appointment instead of barging in and disrupting my appointment. Worst case scenario, the therapist should have excused herself, they should have gone outside the room to discuss. I would not return to such an unprofessional place of business. read more

In two different visits, I had an outstanding massage by Katie and an equally outstanding facial by Isabella. The massage was like a combination of Swedish, lomi lomi, and Thai massage. Instead of working on one part of the body and never coming back, Katie made repeated passes on related parts of the body. For example, the hands were revisited at least 10 times. It was incredible and hypnotizing, like a dance. When she worked on my face and scalp my sinuses cleared and I was able to breath through my nose for the first time in two days. Isabella's facial involved a ton of massage and felt incredible. Since she had no clients afterwards, she went 20 minutes over on me and included body stretching and massage. My skin was beautiful and I was super relaxed. In both cases I had a 90 minute treatment which I felt was comparable in quality of technique to a $200+ treatment. The downside is that there is no ambience and it's in a humble location. Since I care much more about technique than ambience it's five stars for me. read more

If I knew, I would have brought cash... I've gone to many other massage therapists on the Eastside (I have chronic back issues) and Yi Spa is the best. I get a superior massage and the price is really good compared to fancier spas.
