I came here for the first time for dim sum lunch. They did not disappoint. Food: 5/5 - all the dim sum we ordered were delicious. The portions were huge. Best to come here with a group of people so you can order more delicious dishes. I enjoyed the crispy chicken chow mein noodles and shrimp haw gow. You order dishes by checking off what you want on the menu. Service: 5/5 service was good and refilled our tea. Ambiance: 4/5 - place was clean and decent but needs updating.

This palace is always busy with lots of repeat customers Dim Sum is very popular My favourite is the pea tops in garlic and shrimp fried rice

This has been my go-to place when I want regular, non-fancy, bring me back to the good old days dim sum where it feels like you jumped into a time portal and warped yourself back to simpler times..... only without the push carts. This restaurant is one of those that took over from another former Chinese restaurant, did not do much to the aesthetics of the place but know how to make good hearty food for a fair reasonable price. The boss is usually around and if you have come here often he probably has gotten to know you, it's a very family friendly atmosphere where you see the grandpa's and gramdma's, uncle's and auntie's... all who live around the area come in as they have an assortment of tables. You will not get any 'fancy' things here, but you will get the classics like har-gow, siu mai, chicken rice wrap, steamed rice rolls, congee, spring rolls, and some other variations. The portions are very good, as some put it, almost like Western Lake, but what you won't have here is your seat up against another person that is not part of your party. If you are out in this part of town and are craving dim sum, just know that they actually serve many dishes also at night, from the last time I asked them. They also have a full array of dinner dishes. You have to come in and try, and if you are someone from the area... I think you already know that this place is looking to be a staple.

First time at this restaurant and it will be the last !!!! They charge for tea or water minimum 2 CND , they charge for containers to take home left over between 70 to 75 cents of CND . First time it happen to me at any restaurant in the world ..... yessss in the world ...because we travel internationally minimum twice a year . The chicken and ginger buns no flavour at all and not fresh. Chicken chow mein so dull , no color no flavour at all , we had to ask for soy sauce .... Thanks God they did not charge for it!!!! The halibut in supreme sauce ... chunks deep fried with a lot of fish bones ... very uncomfortable to eat. Only acceptable was the sweet and sour pork , but small quantity . The mystery is that it was packed with local Chinese people .... So, .....why such a bad culinary ???? Again!!! We will not visit it again .... Last but not least .... Service is ok ..... but not memorable

Dim Sum Review Jade Palace replaced what used to be Ryan's Chinese Restaurant We got some take out dim sum Their website doesn't have a dim sum menu available so we just had to call and ask if they have specific dishes Steamed scallop dumplings with spinach (3 pcs) portion and taste was okay $ 7.95 Pork spareribs and chicken feet with Hotpot rice was very mushy $ 9.75 Sticky wild rice wrap with meat in lotus leaves - 3 pcs for 8.25 Steamed pork dumpling shiu mai ($7.95) tasted alright Chinese donut wrapped in steamed rice roll topped with pork floss was alright, but the rice roll was pretty thick ($ 7.75) Japanese style pan-fried eggplant with shrimp paste $7.75 tasted crispy We also go the house special Chow Mein $20.80 and its nice that they separate the noodle from the sauce I would opt to try their other dishes next time Overall, the dim sum dishes tasted just okay but its quite pricey You get 10% off for take out orders over $30.00

Honestly, after reading most of the reviews, I expected this place to be less but as soon i got the dimsum and wow its actually pretty good. I got the: 1. Lo mai kai: its kinda mid 2. Cha siu bao: its good 3. The portugese egg tart: trully good and crispy definitely something you should get coming back 4. Hargow: one of the best in town 5. Egg yolk custard bun: this is very good 6. Xiao long bao: avoid at all cost 7. Rice rolls with tofu and fish paste: this is the best you should definitely not wanna miss this 8. Rice rolls with you tiao: this is quite good Now you know what to order here. Honestly, it is recommended in my opinion. Quite disagree with most of the reviewers. Cheers!

We stopped by over the Thanksgiving weekend and the restaurant was busy. We ordered a six course lobster meal. There was some lag time between dishes, but we were given complimentary custard buns. That was a very nice gesture from the owners. The food itself was pretty good and standard for Chinese food. The lettuce could have been better as I found the leaves to be small. Servers were friendly. No complaints there as the staff came around regularly to clear dirty plates.

    Wor wonton soup

We came back for a second visit and wow! Price: actually not bad for the wor wonton, about $14 for a small (8pc) Good: Wor wonton: broth was chicken broth and very clean tasting. Lots of veggies NOT coated in sauce - mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, celery, baby corn. Chicken, bbq pork, shrimp. Wontons filled with pork. It wasn't on the dine in menu so had to ask for it. Gold standard wor wonton now. Cod and tofu hot pot: so good. Lots of cod. Lots of tofu. Not a lot of mushroom. Well executed Scallop and egg white fried rice: my fav. So good. Nice wok hei. Red bean soup: average but I've missed it so I happily ate it all Service: you have to get their attention but they're polite and efficient. WOULD COME BACK ALL THE TIME!!

Passed by this place during its grand opening, but finally in the neighborhood to give it a try. Found parking and entered into a full restaurant with a littler lineup, surprised cause it's on a Monday afternoon. Finally got a table closer to the back and we placed our order for the following; 1. Steamed mixed meat with peanut dumplings. Pretty basic like most dim sum places, nothing special. 2. Steamed shrimp with chive dumplings. Basic nothing special 3. Steamed rice rolls with beef. Pretty fresh and decently smooth. 4. Steamed chicken feet with special sauce. Pretty basic but good they used big chicken feet not midget ones like some restaurants do. Got to have my chicken feet when having dim sum. No chicken feet is no dim sum. 5. Hong Kong style eggplant. Very nice! It's hard to find a restaurant that does this right or good and so far this one comes close. Lightly battered with a light crisp, well deep fried with a nice garlic flakes and light spice aroma. I recommend give this a try if you like eggplants. 6. Braised lobster with sticky rice and corn bits. The lobster was tasty and flavourful, not overcooked so that was good. The rice has that nice lobster oil flavour and wasn't smothered with some Chinese gravy sauce like some Chinese restaurants do, so double thank goodness. Overall, the restaurant has a very casual dining atmosphere, quick service, and the food is pretty basic in regards to taste wise but comes in BIG portions. For those of you who frequents Western Lake, their style here is almost the same, decent taste with big portions. Seeing the boss and the boss lady trying their best to accommodate the customers are a good sign. Their prices are average like everywhere now, this is 2022 not 1992, most dim sum dishes everywhere averages between $6-$9/ dish. I will probably go back and try out its dinner menu.

Expensive and bland. Food is under-seasoned to say the least. Vancouver's standard for Chinese food is way higher than this. Skip it.

I ordered ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce sandwich plus the soup of the day bacon chowder, I wanted to try the tuna salad but again its done so the server ended up giving a quinoa salad for free. Busy place considering its covid-19 era so only 4 person inside the store at a time. Few seating inside, the café is very relaxing and for some reason I felt peace and very calm. The only noise you can hear inside were the sounds of returned bottle glasses for milk while people putting them on cases.... Interesting displays and interior designs, since its family owned I can tell that most of the displays in here were things they had when they were kids, nice stuffs very interesting .Those memorabilias made me smile, that feeling a heart truly appreciated. The sandwhich I had was okay, the soup was very good as well, hot and creamy, the quinoa salad is just okay for me its just ordinadry but not bad. Heres come something funny, I placed an order and clearly I wanted a strawberry milkshake, but what was serve was plain milkshake, I believed this was an honest mistake so I did not say anything, it was good though but maybe I ill be best if its strawberry. Wifi is free as well as parking and lots of them no worries. Service is warm and very friendly...kudos guys.... Not bad for group, family and kids. B careful if you are using a GPS coming here, wrong street and turn ....I don't know why?....... I will still come back here and bring some friends.. hope this time I will get the right milkshake.

Menu is not extensive and as it was both our visits, we decided to order the Kkanpunggi Combo for $56 that includes Black Bean Noodle, Chili Seafood Noodle, and Spicy Sweet and Sour Deep Fried Chicken. The chicken arrived first and it was an enormous portion! Chicken was fresh, lightly battered, had good flavour that wasn't overly coated in sauce, and was served with nice tasty taro chips. Black bean noodles was also a good sized and delicious. The chili seafood noodles was also a very generous portion - we ordered it medium spicy but I personally thought it was mild though flavourful. Service was a bit slow, even though we pressed the button a few times.
