Fritz Jaeger pulled a classic bait and switch on me after I contracted him for painting services. He agreed to smooth out textured walls before painting and quoted me for 2 coats. After he showed up and pretended to smooth out part of a wall for about 5 minutes, he bolted after saying he had another job to go to and that someone else would be here later to start painting. I asked him how much my quote would be reduced since he was clearly not going to smooth over the walls as he agreed to, and he said it would be the same price because he wasn't charging me for that. A day laborer randomly showed up at an inconvenient time and began painting with the paint that Fritz had dropped off, but then left after the paint was used up and said he did not have enough paint for 2 coats. Also the paint job was totally mediocre. read more

Beware!! I've used Jaeger painting multiple times, Fritz lives in my neighborhood, and I will never use them again. In 2019 I hired Fritz to paint the exterior of my house. He used two different crews of guys to complete the job (small one story) and there was no communication between the two crews and years later I'm still finding places on my house where they didn't paint over the old tan color. Besides that frustration, I recently hired a handyman to repair trim that Fritz added to the bottom of my siding to hide water damage. His idea!! Turns out Fritz Jaeger used a material "MDF" that is an interior material that acts as a sponge with moisture.. (MDF wood is essentially sawdust and glue that have been fused together with pressure and heat.) See pics below of how that sawdust and glue are holding up. Why as a "professional" would you use this material to repair/conceal outside water damage? If your an honest person, you wouldn't!! Fritz also replaced a few trim boards around my windows and instead of using rough cut cedar to match what I had he used something cheap and smooth. Maybe more MDF! Finding out I had been taken advantage of and serially lied to, I contacted Jaeger painting before Thanksgiving and asked that they replace the MDF material. They have not bothered to respond and that says it all!! I've held off writing this bad review because I support small businesses and especially neighborhood companies but I'm going to have to pay someone to remove/replace caulk and paint the trim on the entire back of my house because Fritz Jaeger was trying to make a few extra bucks. The "Jaeger and Sons Painting" team just completed an incredible job on my house! We, like many in our area, were hit by the September 2023 hailstorm that punched golfball and baseball sized holes in the back of our house. They removed the old siding, installed OSB board with water resistent barrier, installed Tyvek HomeWrap (polyethylene water barrier), installed Hardie panel siding (high quality fiber cement panel), installed Hardie window and door trim, and painted the entire exterior of our house with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint (high quality paint). I had damage from a hail storm and hired Jaeger and Sons to stain the damaged items. The crew did a great job and was careful with the surrounding areas. I had a large pergola power washed and re-stained in my back yard. The front of my house had 2 shutters, 2 wooden cut outs and my front door. Everything looks great and I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future. read more

These guys are the best!! I called Fritz as we had issues due to leaking water which came from the second floor and they the main level and into the garage. I had water remediation teams come in and clean out the water and water affected areas by ripping out drywall and lots of wet insulation... the mess that they left allowed the areas to all dry great but left open holes all over. Fritz and team came in and drywalled the garage and added the missing insulation! They even moved all my large shelves for me too to get to the ceiling and walls, and they were done super fast and put all the shelves back for me too! Couldn't be happier and looking forward to having them paint the exterior of the house and change some old damaged wood trim and do some more projects for us!! read more

Fritz and his crew have been our go to guys for several years now. We hired them the first time to replace soffit and fascia and chimney boards with hardy plank and paint all the wood. They did an excellent job! His pricing was competitive and worth every penny. The second time we had Jaeger and Sons out to help us was during our kitchen remodel. We wanted the popcorn ceiling scraped, the walls mudded and painted and the wallpaper gone. We are extremely pleased with the work provided and will call them again. We highly recommend Fritz Jaeger and his crew for home painting projects. They have recently completely painted our master bedroom, and the wooden cabinet/bookshelves in our living room. They completed the work in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. The quality of the work is exceptional. The cabinet/bookshelves were the old traditional "honey oak" which was so prevalent in the 90's. The newly painted cabinets give the living area an entirely new, refreshed look. We have used this company twice for painting projects. The first time, we just needed a large hole patched up and painted on one of our outdoor porch columns. Fritz, the owner did this job and the work he did was superb. With that said, we decided to contact again for a quote to have a big indoor painting job done. The price was comparable to other companies, but since we were so impressed with the previous job well done, we decided to go with this company again. Not only this, but the customer service...Fritz is so personable and friendly...the type of person you feel like you've known for a long time. He definitely doesn't know a stranger! He is so easy to talk to and very punctual with his communication. Our dog really liked him too! Each time we needed to contact him via text or email, he was always responsive and helpful in answering our questions. Fritz did a wonderful job on our exterior painting and deck repair. I got 4 estimates, and he was somewhere in the middle with his prices. Not the cheapest, but not anywhere near the highest either. He and his employee worked hard, finished on time, and did a great job. He even came back a few days later to check the finished job - to be sure the there weren't any spots that soaked up the paint unevenly or were missed when the lighting outside changed. Fritz is hands down an all round impressive person to work with. You will NOT be disappointed. He's relaxed, but super professional. He's a workhorse and his attention to detail is impeccable. While receiving house painting estimates, I received a word of mouth recommendation to consider Jaeger and Sons (J&S). J&S responded within 48 hours, scoped the project and provided a detailed estimate to complete the work. Pricing was in line with all qualified contractors. Given the work of mouth recommendation, J&S was selected. The project was estimated to take 5 days to complete (which it did). All power washing (house, patios, mailbox, etc.), extensive trim work, paint preparation, painting, and clean up were completed as expected and per scheduled. Saw they were active in neighborhood, called, got good response and fair pricing. Had them paint inside of rental duplex, spray everything same color- lack of prep was noticed. Had them paint exterior of unit 2- tone, fair prep, missed areas of main color, terrible job on darker trim color. Clean-up never happened- the chunks of paint that came off during pressure washing are still sitting on ground. I know its rental property, but not sure I would have them do my house. read more

Updating that review with more bad news: it cost me about $500 to clean the subfloors enough for the finish floors to be installed. That's hiring guys to scrub, scrape, mop, and sand for many hours. I bought a house in Pflugerville and lived in CA. I wanted to get the house painted before I moved in. I wasn't sure how I could because I didn't know any reliable painters and didn't want to rely solely on Yelp. Especially because it was for my newly built house. My sister-in-law recommended Jaeger & Sons to me. I called Susan who called me back right away. They coordinated to meet my realtor for a quote and we did a walk through via FaceTime. I received a quote the following day and was really surprised how very reasonable this quote was. So I moved forward. Susan and I had coordinated everything through email and phone calls. Even choosing the color of which they matched for me perfectly! I felt bad for hassling them and having to do everything through my realtor and my builder. But they made the process so easy and worked with me so that I really felt at ease about it where I might've normally been stressed. Especially without ever seeing their work and how the color turned out. I also wanted a striped wall which I thought might be tricky, not knowing how I'd want the spacing. My move date was June 13th and I was hoping to have the house ready before we got there. Originally I thought Jaeger would have access to the house June 1st or shortly there after. They said it would only take at most four days which was great. My builder delayed my close which stressed me out. Susan had kept me well informed of the other jobs they had and said she may be delayed in getting my house done by the 13th but would try her best to accommodate me. This also started to stress me out because my moving truck was going to arrive there and I had to coordinate putting all my stuff in the garage, etc. Susan reassured me that if anything they would have most of the house completed. I finally got my keys on June 9. Jaeger &Sons were out there within the hour to start the job! They kept me updated on the progress and lo and behold they had completed the entire job within 48 hours. I had the entire interior of my house painted. Including my bedroom wall which was a vertical striped wall. I can't tell you how amazed I am about how quickly they got the job done and how professional they were throughout the entire process. They were so great with working with me out in California and really kept me at ease. And my bedroom wall looks so beautiful I can't stop staring at it. I am so overwhelmed by their professionalism, how quickly they got the job done, and how reasonable their prices were. I would highly highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Don't hire this company. If you hired Fritz, never pay any deposit money to him before your work is completed. His crew is not trained for a painting job and is very unprofessional. Fritz took 50% deposit money and called his guys off on the 2nd day leaving my house in the middle. He appears to be a very nice guy in the beginning, but he becomes a very different person after getting a deposit. He told me that he lives in the same neighborhood and several other statements neighbors used to have, I become more inclined to give my painting job to him thinking he is among my neighbors. Based on 4 bids, his price was the highest. When I told him that I am not selecting him due to his highest price, he gave me another price beating the lowest price. I trusted him thinking he belongs to my neighborhood, but he hardly delivered 25% of the work with very poor workmanship (breaking several sidings and exposing my house to rain without trims). He created an emergency situation for me and I have to call another firm to repair the exposed part of my house and finish the painting job he left. So, think several times before awarding any painting job to him as he is not trustworthy, never pay any upfront money to him. read more
