Pizza and sub options are very solid, specifically a meatball sub or steak and cheese. Not a lot of people eat here almost everyone takes out but they do have a lot of booths if you want to eat your pizza or sandwich hot, which i do think is the best. My wife and I hadn't been here since we graduated from Franklin Pierce "College" 40 years ago, but passed through the Monadnock area on our way to Maine. It definitely took us back as soon as we walked through the door. The restaurant is a classic neighborhood pizza place and the ambiance totally reflects it. The restaurant is tucked away on a side street, but it's worth finding if you're not familiar with this area. When we entered the restaurant, it was hopping with mostly take out orders, but we were pleasantly greeted right away and were able to place our order. We ordered two grinders, one steak and cheese and one Italian. The bread was phenomenal and both sandwiches were perfect! Wish we lived closer! read more

We made this place a date night regular every Friday for 12 years, because it was the only pizza place in the entire Monadnock Region that did not skimp on toppings. We would order a mushroom pizza, and it would literally be covered with mushrooms and a delicious perfect balance of cheese and sauce. We still order from there but not regularly any more, since in the past few years, they have cut back on the mushrooms. Yah three stars. The turkey submarine sandwich was good, but for the turkey being sparse and in disarray. Nonetheless it was greatly anticipated and ultimately greatly enjoyed lunching atop Mt. Monadnock. On our annual hike up the Mount we stop here to get our luncheon supplies, so certainly good enough year to year. We had driven from Boston and spent the day doing the grueling climb of Monadnock Mountain. Pizza was on our minds after we cleaned up. Luckily, the nearest pizza place was Jaffrey Pizza Barn. We knew we wanted to get take-out so we could enjoy it sprawled out at the house we rented for the night. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, garlic, and extra cheese. We also took the chicken wings meal that comes with fries and slaw. The gentleman who took our order must have been the owner. He had a command that was obvious. He was also friendly and offered some good suggestions, such as upgrading the side of chicken wings to the meal for an extra dollar. Ordering was quick and pleasant. I've already concluded that I would consider driving from Boston just to have this pizza again. The crust was perfect, not too thin, not too chewy. You could even bite through the thick part without a tug of war, and it was plenty satisfying. The toppings were quality, with beefy mushrooms, fresh tangy pepperoni, and flavorful creamy cheese on a nicely seasoned sauce. They added just the right amount of fresh garlic too. The chicken wings were plump and well seasoned. I'm guessing they use a cornflakes style batter because of the gratifying crunch. We had plenty of leftover pizza, so we took it home to Boston the next day. Even after sitting overnight in the refrigerator, the pizza tasted great with a brief warming in the microwave. Jaffrey Pizza Barn is a great place to get your pizza fix. We'll look to patronize again, the next time we are passing through. read more

Food came back to the house on take out and I was told the bill was $28.00. for a chicken tender/fries, and a Popcorn Chicken/fries. 2 liter of Coke. I looked on all the sites Google provided and the only portion of the menu shown was for Pizza and Wraps. Zmenu site shown the second part, and both meals where shown at 7.95. I called them up, a lady answered and I asked her about it. She asked me what menu was I look at and I told her what was going on. She told me that that was an old menu and because prices are jacked up, they had to change the prices. She said I had to look at their web site, or look in their Facebook page. He says I was told by my employee that you have a grievance about the price you paid on your food, and you were giving my employee Shit. I then said I wasn't giving her shit, I was only trying to help you guys out. He then proceeded to get even more angry and started to swear again. I told him he needed to chill out and hug up the phone with him still swearing at me. In my experience the food has been good, but I'm telling you right now, so not interact with this so called Owner and don't bother trying to help them out. Most of the food here is admittedly pretty good for the price. My issue is with the management- my fiancee and I have ordered from here at least once a week since we moved to Jaffrey. Today they got our order wrong. This has happened before, but the food we got instead was usually fine so we just ate it. This time however, they gave us some sort of buffalo tenders which were more or less inedible. I was a little annoyed after walking there in the snow and back, but I figured we were regular customers and getting a refund wouldn't be an issue. I sure was wrong- not only did they refuse to refund us for their mistake, the owner was very rude to us on the phone. Everything is yellow-ish (more "ish" than anything else) and looking like a scene from The Walking Dead. The pizza is the best all-around local offering. The sauce is herby and plentiful (no dry pizza here). Their standard pizza house dough is usually well risen and cooked. Toppings-wise, the cheese is normal, but the other toppings are what sets Pizza Barn above the others... simply, better quality. I prefer thinner crust pizza with less cheese and sauce is a big factor for me so I prefer Athens in Jaffrey or Pizza Haven in Ridge but my kids like thicker crust, cheesier pizza and prefer Pizza Barn. Living in California I sure do miss good pizza and grinders. The Jaffrey Pizza Barn is usually one of my first stops when visiting Jaffrey. This most recent time I had the hamburg pizza and cheesesteak grinder. Both items were far better than anything I can get near where I live in Ca. I had been planning well in advance (like 6 months) exactly what I was going to order. I definately was not disappointed, well worth the wait. I wish I could have had time during my visit to eat there 2x. My only complaint was that the restaurant was really hot and humid inside and I pretty much was sweating while eating my great tasting food. read more

I have been to this place multiple times and the one thing I notice is that it is inconsistent with its food . I firstly suggest you do not order a pizza here, they overcook the pizza to the point where it is a dark brown on the cheese, we are talking burnt not golden. The overall look of the restaurant itself is dingy and uninviting. One of the redeeming factors is the steak sub with nacho cheese, that is the only thing i would recommend purchasing. I also have gotten sick from their fish sub they offer , so I suggest you avoid any seafood from this place. read more

We have had such mixed experiences here I had a hard time rating it. We've had wonderful pizza and the best subs we've ever tasted. Yet, we've also had disgusting over-sauced, under cooked, hardly any topping disgusting pizza, raw (yes raw, not just undercooked) chicken tenders and sandwiches so thin you could only taste bread. They also screw up our orders quite often which when you are getting take out and driving ten minutes home only to discover it then, is a huge pain. The last 2 times we went we were told it would be 40 minutes before it was done and then still waited another 20 minutes when we arrived. We keep saying we will never go back but when they are good they are so good (mostly when the owners are present and not just the high school kids who could care less) so we keep taking the gamble! read more
