I got two scoops, Rocky Road and pecan, both were delicious. They got really cool wooden Picnic tables too. On hot days especially, this place will be extremely popular. The owner is extremely cool. He mentioned that he's bringing back the Doheny Paddle Fest this summer too. He has a passion for thrifty ice cream, paddle boards, the community, Dana point, he's been in business for decades, I remember coming here as a teen. Additionally, The employees were all chill. At the moment, this is the only place that I know of that serves thrifty ice cream here in Orange County. So I was willing to pay a lot. - but didn't have to because all the prices were great. Not worthy, they did everything correctly, such as using the special thrifty brand scooper, wearing gloves, they had all the right cones. Multiple flavors too. It was all perfectly done. We Plan on coming back here Real soon with more family members and friends! We weren't sure how it would go, but coach Elliot made all the difference. He was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding of our son's needs. The first couple of attempts were tough- our son was nervous about riding the waves and facing the unknown. But coach Elliot never rushed him and offered steady encouragement the whole time. We asked for a refund, they agreed. Here we are nearly 1 month later and they have not returned the money. It is beyond bizarre. We will be pressing forward with legal action. Im guessing the owner spent the money and just doesnt have the cash to pay me? The owner has commented to this review, and again, I think it lacks honesty, see my photo's for proof. She states she canceled the camp due to rough surf conditions, #1. the surf conditions were very calm, see attached historical weather report. #2. Her text message led with, other kids have unenrolled, WE HAVE LOW NUMBERS and would like to cancel. (they are smart, she may have tried to steal their money too). see Screenshots. This is a masterclass on what not to do, if you own a company and royally mess up. Just own it. Please return our money.
