I have not purchased a car directly from the dealership, but I have dealt with them on several occasions. Tests drives and salesman have always been wonderful. No problems at all. I did take my Jaguar in for state inspection and everything passed as expected. Three days later my battery was dead because the technician didn't reset the codes. This is a common problem with the f type after plugging into the obd port, but shouldn't a Jaguar dealership be able to get this right? You would think so and this is the reason why I schedule my service for my Jaguar there. I called 3x and left a message about this problem and I haven't heard back yet. Also, this dealership won't offer me a loaner for major service or minor service intervals, which is just terrible customer service. The reason: "you didn't buy your car here." Okay...makes me want to purchase my next car here, right? When you have a $110,000 car, you would think that wouldn't matter because I'm a potential buyer in the future. All in all, I would prefer to deal with other dealerships in the same area since I'm treated like royalty no matter what car I bring in and no matter where I bought it from. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a new 2024 Sport Land Rover. We made an appointment to pick it up 7 days later. We had to wait an hour and a half for the car to finish being prepared. Upon inspection we notice that the phone charger wasn't working properly. So in scheduling the repair we were originally told by the sales man that we would get a loaner. Well not necessarily since they do not take Progressive Insurance in order for us to receive a loaner. Although it was ok to test drive the car using our Progressive Insurance card. They informed us they were going to get a rental car. The rental car was definitely not equal quality. We were told it was a corporate decision to not take Progressive Insurance. We have never had this problem with any dealership anywhere. Why weren't we informed this before we purchased the car? The car itself is beautiful. I can say that service and communication has not been a positive experience with Jake Kaplan so far. read more

Just started using their service department the past 6 months on a car that didn't have any propblems. Since I went there for a routine service it had to go back two more times for "problems that arose" I caught on pretty quickly that what they were "finding" and what was really going on was not the same thing. Land Rover North Haven fixed two of my cars issues that were caused in Warwick and for much less than what I was quoted. I recently started a search for a pre-owned Range Rover. My google search brought me to many cars within my parameters, and so I started the tedious process of contacting these dealers. Right away, there was one that stood out...Brian Chevalier! He was persistent, responsive, knowledgeable, and a total professional. He answered all my questions, and showed an enthusiasm to make a deal work that would benefit both Land Rover and me. Once we agreed on the numbers and structure of the deal, he got the ball rolling, and provided me with everything I needed at each stage, making it simple and efficient. He organized the addition of roof rails, cross beams, and insurance. We set up a date to pick up the car after Labor Day weekend, but after he caught wind of my excitement, and although we were going into the holiday weekend, he persisted with the techs and service to see if he could get the car ready NEXT DAY! He did, then we ran into an issue...my insurance binder was scheduled for the Tuesday after Labor Day Weekend. Instead of giving up, which he had every right to do, he called my insurance broker, who had left for the weekend, and persisted with her to make it happen! And she did! He called me, glowing with happiness for me, and advised me I could pick up the car Saturday and not have to wait until Tuesday. I was and am beyond grateful for all that he did. We met when I picked up the car, and he gave me as much time as one would expect if they were purchasing a 2024 Range Rover Autobiography! He even saw me putting my old (dirty) metal LR stem caps on from my trade-in Discovery, and then insisted he clean them before I put them on my new vehicle. Since arriving home with my Range Rover (which I love), he has remained responsive to any of my needs or concerns, such as setting up the LR app so I can remote start and helping me with nuisance messages on the display screen. I could not be happier. The Range Rover sells itself, but the salesperson cements trust and a relationship. Although I live in Weston CT, and therefore have JLR Bridgeport and JLR Darien very close to me, I will be certain to look up Brian and JLR Warwick upon my next LR purchase. Brian has made me a customer of JLR Warwick, and I have already referred a neighbor of mine to you guys based on my experience. This is my FIRST Jaguar and to me, that means something. It wasn't a minor purchase; it was a fulfillment of a goal. I have had this teeny impression that the dealership for luxury cars would be snobs. This was dispelled with my experience at Jake Kaplan's Land Rover Warwick. The Internet Specialist, Brian, was thorough but not pushy. The Sales Manager, Alan, is a professional who really knows Jaguar and Land Rover cars, having worked with the dealership for over 30 years. He was helpful, friendly, and courteous; neither the dismissive nor the aggressive sales agent I thought I would encounter. Even the Business Manager, Laura, was professional and forthright. The car was delivered to me after the thorough inspection. The entire experience was seamless. I look forward to having my vehicle serviced there and to the time I would buy a replacement Jaguar again! I already know I would stick with Jaguar and with this dealership. AVOID JAKE KAPLANS LAND ROVER!!!! Brought my Range Rover in for a couple issues. 1-Backup camera not working. 2-Engine stuttering They could not find ANY problems, and charged me $254. Confirmed camera not working-that I already knew, tech said was probably the camera. I had the camera replaced with an aftermarket camera elsewhere, and they told me that the fuse was blown, which they didn't realize until AFTER removing the original camera. Once the fuse was replaced it worked fine, but the aftermarket camera was already installed. So their tech did not think to check the fuse for a camera not working. That should have been the FIRST thing he did. And the stuttering was driving me crazy (stuttering their tech said he could n't even feel) so I brought it to a local garage. The mechanic there diagnosed it (bad sensor) in about 5 minutes and was able to fix it for $250. You go to the dealer because they are supposed to be experts on that make of vehicle. That was not my experience AT ALL. I paid them $254 to not be able to diagnose the issues. Clearly incompetent. read more

We brought our Range Rover in for service and what a big mistake! Now we have an oil leak, our power windows do not work, tire pressures all off, even the spare tire. They charged 2 diagnostic charges and no explanation. Now almost $1500 service paid for more issues than when we brought it in. After my previous review, I had to update. My experience with this dealership was so dreadful that it made a long-term, repeat Jaguar XJ8/R owner never want to purchase another Jaguar product again. I brought my car in for work and they found a million things wrong that amounted to $$$$$$$$$. They also didn't replace screws on the interior every time I went there and I had panels popping out all over. They were not thorough, except when telling me how much work was needed on my car. Brought my car to two other places and both places told me that my water pump was fine and did not need a replacement. Also 2-3 other things I knew was absolute rubbish, they confirmed that I was correct and the mechanic was wrong. I won't ever trust them again. The cars are also UGLY since TaTa has taken over. STAY AWAY FROM SERVICE DEPT UNLESS YOU HAVE $$$ TO BURN If I could give them negative stars or zero stars, I would do that happily. Not only was I billed $1400 (7.74 hrs at $148/hr) for a brake line repair in June 2017. I had a similar issue 10/6/2018 that I was quoted $2400 (14 hours of labor) to fix. I had the car towed 5 miles to Peter at Hillsgrove Service Center; paid $75 for the tow (RI Towing). Peter fixed the issue for $282 (2 hrs of labor). BTW a googling of brake line repair yields an estimate of $200-300 (2-3 hours of work). Jake Kaplan wanted 14 hours of labor for that same job. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Horrible experience after buying a CPO Jaguar XF. The vehicle was marked as CPO and sold but when I took it for a complementary diagnostic it failed many of the CPO criteria - we had to fight with the company to get these items fixed. We were told because the car has one key only that we would be given a second - they only sent the fob and no blade for it - now we are currently fighting with them to get the blade sent to be able to get it cut for the vehicle. They also marked down servicing from the vehicle incorrectly voiding my last complementary service and getting them to look into this has been pulling teeth. Why is it that the service was logged incorrectly? Never had this experience with any other dealerships. read more

Service guy talked to mu wife like crap; she called me over and he changed his misogynistic tone. The work was shoddy as they didn't bolt the covers down properly. They're knowledgable about the cars... and the deals are pretty good. I've bought one Rover here, one in Guilford, but used them for service and repairs on a couple Rovers and had decent results. Service department is great! My wife's Discovery needed service. The dealership drove to New Bedford, dropped a loaner off, took her vehicle back. They serviced it, then dropped it back in New Bedford two days later. I was able to set up the service with three days notice. We purchased the vehicle from another dealership which informed me that they didn't have a loaner for two weeks. The only issue I had was they didn't top off the fuel when they dropped our vehicle off. My wife got into her SUV and the low fuel indicator was illuminated. read more

I don't feel this dealership is very interested in making a sale. Came in to lease an FTYPE Jaguar. Sales person attempted to "do a deal" on a vehicle from a sister property that did not have the options I was looking for. He really didn't know the vehicle. Offered me a pittance on my trade and never mentioned the rebate in the price. If you are looking for a Land Rover SUV, I suppose they could sell you one of those. I was prepared to order a new car but they never bothered to call back. They also weren't interested in my trade which is a beautiful car with only 54k miles. I have to agree with some of the reviews, I love my Range Rover but this place is a repofff. I wanted to repair a front strut; they kept my car for over a week and they told me they couldn't get it out and that they need to damage other parts to get the strut out and i will have to pay for the parts and labor to install back all of the parts. I said no and they still charge me for the hours they said they work on my car without fixing it. I took my car to a different shop and it took around an hour to get it fix. If you want to save you self time and money there is few shops specialized in luxury cars and the price is fair compare to dealership find one and stick with them like I did, you will not go wrong believe me. Only let this dealer take care of your warranty or recalls. If you intend to buy car there make sure you wear a suit lol if you know what I mean. read more

Took them 6 days to repair a water pump, while I was in a rental car. When the car was returned to me, there was a loud, thumping, shimming noise when the brakes were applied? The car ABSOLUTELY did not have this noise PRIOR to be being left off at this dealership?? Called the Service Manager, Lori Slapikas, she was extremely argumentative and defensive, she refused to bring the car back in and repair what they had broken. I filed a consumer complaint with their Corporate Headquarters, made an appointment at another dealership and will be bringing them to court to make them pay for what they damaged. BUYER BEWARE. I'm the type of person to get every possible maintenance or anyother car related things done at the official dealership. and i have to admit that i was rather upset when i discovered that there's only one landrover dealership in rhode island - this is probably why it is hard to get appointments here (why i minused one star). other than the fact that you have to call at least a week ahead of time to get anything done, this dealership has done a great work so far. i love that they provide pick up drop off with loaner vehicle service. that way when it's absolutely inconvenient for my to travel and wit in the dealership, i don't have to even worry about wasting my time. They always wash my car inside and out whenever getting serviced, even for a simple oil change. there's two service department representative you can work with, barbara and mike. i always had mine with mike and he's done a great job!! he talks to you in a very polite yet friendly way and tries to explain any work that may be required or will be performed. even when i throw him with tedious questions (i don't know kuch abour cars) he will answer them in the most sincere way. i purchased my car at different location - norwood but i always get all my services done here. my car once was in accident and it was my first time ever getting involved in a car accident so i had absolutely no idea how i had to deal with it. the whold thing had to go through with other driver's insurance so i was completely lost and in 0anic and called them to ask what to do. they walked me through the whole procedure with how i should be handling with the accident and insurance. Do yourself a favor.... Go elsewhere. Jaguars and Range Rovers are amazing vehicles and are worth every penny however this establishment is just down right criminal. Worst dealership in the creation of vehicles. Had my Range Rover serviced for its 50k maintenance and two recall repairs and within a matter of miles the engine light came on. Drove it back to find it closed for the night. Checked coolant level and added some which I bought from local parts store. Employee stated that I wasn't the first to experience the same. Drove it home and all seemed well. Within a week engine froze and seized. Upon return to dealership they claimed no responsibility. Legal action pursued with only headaches, lies, and fees. I had my 2005 XJ8 serviced here a couple of times and was not satisfied with the repair service. Lori is very nice and helpful, but the technical staff is abysmal. Even through I had given clear, written instructions to check out the brakes and steering (amongst a couple of other things), they went unchecked and after I had complained about both items not being fixed, or even looked at, the service manager took it around the block and declared "it was fine'. In fact, one front caliper was seized, and a joint in the steering column was completely locked. This was the drop in the bucket, as they had not completed my list on previous visits. I will NEVER set foot in this place again. I suggest you do the same, if you value your safety. read more

HIGWAY ROBBERY!!! WORST SERVICE!!! They try to take advantage of you and suggest to fix things that don't need fixing!!! We will NEVER bring our car to this dealership again. Nor will we ever buy from them. We have brought our car so may times for various issues that needed to be fixed. 9 out of 10 times we bring it home and the problem isn't fixed. We brought it to the dealership multiple times to fix the trunk door. 5 times later it's still not fixed. Brought it in bc the software needed updating, they charged us $200 to "diagnose" the issue before doing anything. They they will gauge you and bleed you dry. It's highway robbery. The service couldn't be worse. On one of the service appointment, I was 7 months pregnant, 3 guys watched me as I struggled to remove 2 car seats out of the back and not one of them offered to help in any way. They are very happy to take your money but don't expect any "service." If you absolutely HAVE to go, go see Barbara. Don't waste your time with Mike. But I suggest you go somewhere else and save yourselves thousands of dollars and get the problem actually fixed. read more

My wife experienced an unexpected problem with the brake pads on our slightly used 2010 Range Rover. Despite the fact that Jake Kaplan had no legal obligation to do so, they replaced the pads without a charge. They went the extra step by securing us a loaner car at the very last minute. My wife was a bit nervous about the brakes even though they were in all likelihood fine for another couple thousand miles. Each and every time I have asked the team about my car, they have gone the extra mile with the highest professionalism. Account of dealings with Jake Kaplan Land Rover Dealership: It was nearing the end of my lease period with my BMW. BMW of Newport called and asked if I would like to do an early lease turn-in. I met with Milton at BMW of Newport. He said I was over my lease miles by 10,000, however, they would not charge me for the last 3 payments of my lease or the mile overage as well as anything else if I signed on for a new BMW they would roll it in. The following day I met with Lia at Jake Kaplan's. Her title there is Internet Lead Manager. Apparently, no sales people were available to assist me at that time. I explained the deal BMW was offering and showed her where my payments would be. I also showed her the paperwork that BMW had printed for me explaining I would owe nothing to turn in my lease even though I was over my mileage etc. She said they could honor the same deal if I moved forward with purchasing a Range Rover. My friend was with me and can attest to this. Lia also told me that sometimes they will take in the trade and sell these cars on their lot. We test drove a few cars that day and I narrowed it down to two. In the mean- time, she had someone from the dealership look at my BMW. I returned a few days later and ended up working with Sean Gerbert, the Sales Manager. I had a witness that day as well. We test drove both cars again and I ended up choosing one. Sean had me clean out my car, an associate took the plates off of my car and put them on the Range Rover. There was no mention of anything as far as a lease turn-in. They said they would handle everything regarding my BMW. At least two weeks later, Sean called me and said I needed to go to BMW just to sign something. I found that odd and was surprised my BMW was still at Jake Kaplans. I went to Warwick, met with Lia at Jake Kaplan's, and she drove over to BMW with me. A guy named Mike inspected my BMW and said the turn-in would be $4170 (This later ended up being more). I signed off because I believed Range Rover was taking care of the costs of the lease turn in as agreed. Lia told me to send the email that BMW would be sending to me to her so she could forward it to Sean to take care of the bill. Mike was there and heard this conversation. The next day I received a call from Sean saying he can't believe how " BMW screwed me on the turn-in". I then realized that he was expecting me to pay for the turn-in. They basically bait and switched or there was a miscommunication between Sean and Lia. He said he never would cover the overage for the turn-in. They absolutely 100% did say that. Lia said it. Why would she ask me to email Sean the bill if she didn't think they were taking care of it? At no point in this process did Sean ever mention that I would be responsible for the turn-in or costs associated with it. They took possession of my car for weeks. I thought I was done with it. If I was responsible for the turn-in, they should have said that upfront. Why would they keep my car for over two weeks?? Sean did not mention a word about the turn in and my friend can attest to this. I would never have put down $6200 on a used vehicle and then another $5170 for my lease turn-in. Plus my payments are $666.00 per month for a lease. They sent me a check for the last 3 lease payments on my BMW for $741.00. Why wouldn't they just take that off of the price of the Range Rover if I was responsible for the lease turn-in. It makes no sense. They made me think they were giving me the deal BMW gave me and then two weeks later called me to take care of the lease turn-in? Nothing was put in writing including the 3 lease payments they sent me a check for. Total scam. The manager, Mike was no help at all. He basically could have cared less based on his short emails. On top of all of this, as soon as I drove off the lot, the service light went on. The tires do not hold air and the brakes were squealing. They told me the squealing noise was normal. I leased this vehicle in April and apparently the car already needs new tires. They sold it to me with bad tires. I mean it doesn't get much worse. You would think that buying a high end vehicle would mean high end service. Don't buy, lease or service your vehicle here. I just recently found a new place to service my vehicle.
