The owner jay is a friend of my parents and still doesnt have basic respect for customers. I recently brought my lexus here to clear out the sunroof gutters and replace the car battery, and somehow left without a side mirror cover! I was never compensated or even made aware of this has to see it for myself and even then didn't notice until i was home! Reached out to him about it and was blatantly ignored. Don't go here unless you like your vehicle straight disrespected. Im 19 years old and this is my second car and the first one i'm putting real blood sweat and tears into. This experience was awful and makes me never want to bring her to a shop again let alone this shop. If i were to be compensated or at least have the side mirror cover returned I wouldn't be leaving a negative f****** review!!! read more

I wish I could add to the five-star reviews, but I was not overly impressed with my experience here. Brought my car here last October (it took me a long time to get around to writing this review) for an oil leak; a buzzing noise related to the exhaust system; and a rattle in the rear suspension. Within a reasonable amount of time, they called me for authorization to replace the oil pan gasket, and a small part in the rear suspension that was in poor condition. The price seemed fair, so I had them do the work. While the price was fair, I was only partly satisfied with the work. Replacing the oil pan gasket resolved most of the oil leakage, but the engine still leaks oil (from another area), although in fairness, leaks are tough to isolate, especially multiple leaks. They failed to diagnose the rear suspension rattle; I trust that the part they replaced was in poor condition, since the car is about 20 years old, but, it was not the source of the noise that was bugging me. As for the buzzing noise from the exhaust system, all they could say was that no part of the exhaust was touching the car's underbody. I brought it to an exhaust specialty shop in East Providence a few days later, and they quickly and correctly diagnosed the buzzing as a deteriorated resonator. The exhaust system mechanic even diagnosed and fixed a buzzing from the front of the car (adjusting a rubber hood stop). I will say that the owner of Precision was friendly, and accommodating when I had to make arrangements to pick up my car the next day. But, I would expect better diagnostic skills from a 5-star mechanic. So ... I'm still looking for a mechanic. read more

This is my second time coming to precision Auto The first time I came to this shop I was broken down with all my children. I almost 6:00 at night. The owner Allen took it upon himself to get me a tow and work with me on fixing my vehicle. Cutting me a great deal. Second time I went was due to breaks and rotors thinking I only need a front ones. My back ones need to be replaced as well giving me a discount but help me save some money. They were able to put on some pads. Highly recommend this auto shop. A few weeks ago, I went to Majestic (excuse me, Balise) to have an oil change. As my nerves were fraying due to the screaming 4 year old running wild in the waiting room with her apparently deaf and blind mother, the service guy came over and asked to "speak to me". Doing his job (not faulting him at all) he announced that I needed new brakes. I stood there, mouth agape, trying to take this in. I had purchased the car only two years previously, from Majestic (when it was still Majestic), with a sales pitch that included "and we just put in new brakes". Now, two years later, and perhaps 10,000 miles older, as I work from home, they tell me I need new brakes. AND, that I will cost $800 to repair!!! I politely tell them I had not recently plundered a third-world country, and therefore did not have the money for this repair. He very politely said "no problem" and said he would add it to the record for reference when I did have the money. Fast forward two weeks: my husband has a friend (he's "got a guy") who he went to school with who has an auto shop in West Warwick. This morning, we bring my car to him to look at, after a previous phone conversation uncovered that the same job, NOT at Majestic, would only cost $400. A few minutes ago I received a call from this guy. he said, "you don't need brakes. Your brakes are practically brand new. Like 80%. So you're all set." THANK YOU, Mike Rambone, for your honesty and thoughtfulness. I'm taking my business to Precision Automotive Service in West Warwick. Oil changes, wiper fluid, ANYTHING. I remember taking my Toyota Tercel to Mike Rambone around 2008 for inspections and other work that had to get done, he did a great job, I no longer have that car since 2014 after my ex blew it up, I wasn't too happy, it took me 2-years to buy a 2000 Toyota Corolla I love that car and I decided to take this car to Mike for an inspection today as it had to get done, it took Mike 10-minutes to get my car inspected, he didn't mind if I waited, he was polite and professional. They do not come more honest than Mike. He prices jobs so that he can make an honest living and the prices are very reasonable. I turned to Precision on the recommendation of a friend. This lady's husband on his death bed told her never trust her car to anyone but Mike. Seriously! The job my previous mechanic quoted to be $550. Mike quoted it for $230 and did the job properly. Now I know why that other guy can afford to send 2 kids through medical school, for vacations to Dubai and new cars for both. He is not alone, I got that $550 quote from another mechanic here in town and even a bit higher at the dealer. Precision Automotive Service is the best. He doesn't try to bafoozle women or anyone with limited knowledge of cars. He is just an honest hard-working guy. He has the calmest and kindest temperment of anyone I know. I had a great service experience at this facility. Mike was very personal and professional. I had a problem with my Air Conditioner in a 2010 Dodge Caravan. Been going to Precision Automotive for 10+ years and always happy with the service. I've brought many vehicles there over the years for many different services, from a simple oil change or inspection to front end work in my Super Duty truck. I've brought my truck there expecting to have brakes my rear brakes replaced, only to have them make adjustments and send me on my way. Could have easily taken advantage of me and got the cost of the entire job out of me. Prices are very reasonable.
