Great food! The theme and the multiple slow moving fans almost transport you to the south seas. Is very relaxing and calming anyway. Had the pretzel rods I had read in many other reviews- they were great! I had the crawfish chowder - was very good. Hubby and son had the buffalo chicken wrap, one with fries, one with fruit. For bourbon, they have the large single ice cubes. Good service. First meal on Universal vaca and it was perfect.

Key Lime Pie

Not too bad for bar food, service was solid and that's the main redeeming factor. My wife got the fish and chips, my kiddo got the burger, and I got the Asian wings with a key lime pie. I'd probably try the buffalo and see how they fared. I'd say the best thing we tried was the burger. Nothing else was notable. The convenience of eating here was the deciding factor. If you're not looking for convenience then hop on a 5 minute water ride to the city walk and get some amazing cuisine for similar pricing.

I was struggling between a 2 and a 3. When we got here, it was pretty empty. This is just typical bar food and not good. I ordered the fish and chips. The fries were so salty, I had to send them back while the fish hadn't been seasoned at all. To be empty, service was greatly lacking. My husband got the wings and he said they were fine. If you dont mind walking over to city walk, skip this. I'd rather just leave the Resort.

Ribs, slaw, Mac and cheese, and a biscuit

Jake's is a great choice for hotel eating. The vibe is tropical adjacent, but just seems to miss the vibe. The food didn't miss anything though. The ribs were falling the bone tender and the sauce had a sweetness that accentuates without overpowering. The Mac and cheese was creamy and a good complement the the rest of the meal. The coleslaw is one of the better restaurant coleslaws I've enjoyed. Normally to get a slaw this good it needs to be at a BBQ shack in the south where they've cooked the same way for three generations.

Nothing - no menu, no water, no food, no service.

Horrible experience. While I realize they were busy with a huge conference, I had a reservation and was seated at a table for 25 minutes without a menu or water before I could get one of the wait staff to look at me to ask for someone to take my order. They seem to not handle large crowds well. Won't be back.

This hotel restaurant is in the Lowes Royal Pacific Hotel in Universal Studios. I dined here alone. I ordered their hamburger, which was made of beef brisket. I did not notice any difference in taste, but it was good. The motif was a version of an American bar in Paradise. I liked the decor. I would definitely come here just for the service. When you are in some captive restaurants, service can be an issue. The service was as good as any I have had anywhere.

Brisket for 2

While we loved our stay at the resort, Jake's Bar really fell short especially in service. We waited over 15 minutes to be acknowledged at our table and over 25 to even get water. There was about 4-5 table in the entire restaurant so it was not busy at all. We started with Buffalo wings (which were amazing) and Caesar salad. Beware if you don't like horseradish because there is ALOT in the Caesar dressing it is so overpowering. The Brisket for 2 is a great deal and was delicious. Unfortunately, the lack of attention in service from "Lefty" as her name tag stated (because she never even told us her name) started us off very disappointed and continued throughout the meal.

For a Hotel Restaurant - The food was really good! - Thank you for keeping things simple; - It makes it difficult to mess things up. Special "Shout Out" to our Gracious Bartender - "Stormy" - She was great. Thank you for suggesting that Mango Micro Brew Beer - It was delicious! Things can get busy! - Avoid the crowds and head for the Bar - You won't regret it. Chill Vibe! - Plenty of space at the Bar - so you can ditch the "Crowds" of Tourists - We were in town for a Conference - I think we visited this Bar x 3. Check out our pictures - Food was really good! - Get the Pretzels w/ Honey Mustard!

the aviator: ribs

this restaurant was absolutely amazing! food? fast. taste? astronomical. portions? atrociously big. when we saw the ribs we went " oh my gosh" and the waiter replied "oh my gosh", so that solidified my feelings about how kind everyone was. the theme of the restaurant was so nice about like planes and stuff. my only complaint was that the bbq was a little sweet but its ok. awesome!

Good and friendly service. Fish was fried to perfection. Really crispy and flaky inside. Wasn't too fond of the coleslaw. Not too loud. Could hear others from the other side of the long table without yelling.

Hands down the star of the show was the shrimp dish, perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and honestly some of the best we've had in a while. If you're looking for a great happy hour with a standout menu item, The Whyskey delivers. We'll definitely be back!

Monica was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service. Unfortunately, our interaction with Mary was the complete opposite. She was rude and unaccommodating, which made our visit unpleasant. After ordering a few drinks, we decided to patronize another business. As a group of returning customers, we were also disappointed that no effort was made to accommodate us. We've supported this restaurant year after year, and we expected a more welcoming experience, especially as loyal guests. We hope management recognizes the difference that customer service can make and addresses these concerns so future guests--and returning customers like us--have a better experience.

I went with my brother and sister-in-law, and the food was excellent. The lemon pepper dry rub wings were absolutely amazing--crispy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. They were so good I jokingly wanted to bite my fingers afterward! I also tried the Honey Thai wings, but they just weren't for me because I don't really enjoy spicy food. That's completely a personal preference, though. The edamame was fresh and tasty, and the appetizers we shared were all very good. Even though the restaurant was completely packed, the service was impressive. I expected a long wait, but I was seated almost immediately, and our server kept everything moving smoothly despite how busy it was. The only downside is the parking. There isn't convenient parking directly in front of the restaurant, so you'll need to park in the nearby garage, take the elevator down, and walk over. The good news is that parking on the top floor is free. Along the walk, there were several outdoor vendors selling fresh fruit drinks, roasted corn, sweet treats, and small shopping items, which made the walk a little more enjoyable. Overall, this Yard House delivered great food, efficient service, and a fun atmosphere. If you're visiting International Drive and looking for a great place to eat, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'll absolutely be back!

There were several places to choose from, but this one seemed like a good fit because it wasn't overly loud, and we wanted to be able to hear each other. We initially sat outside, but we were told they had stopped serving the outdoor seating area, so we moved inside. Rather than wait for a server, we decided to order directly from the bar since it seemed like the faster option. There weren't enough seats at the bar for our group of five, so we grabbed a nearby booth. The bartender was friendly, and our drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. Although people were not coming in, but some people were eating, and enjoying drinks throughout the restaurant, it seemed like the staff had started cleaning up for the night. A server came over, and we explained that we were only there for drinks. After we received our drinks from the bar, he returned and told us that we would soon have to get up so he could clean the table. Seriously? I looked around and saw several other tables where some guests were simply sitting, talking, and enjoying their drinks. They weren't eating either. It made us feel as though, because we had only ordered beverages, we weren't as welcome as everyone else. I chose not to let one person's behavior ruin our evening because I'd rather believe that one employee doesn't represent the entire establishment. In fact, the bartender was great, and the drinks were very well made. What disappointed me was the server's attitude. I wasn't aware that ordering drinks at a restaurant with a full bar wasn't enough to be considered a paying customer, especially when there weren't enough bar stools to accommodate our group. His approach came across as rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Needless to say, we were not going to get up until we had finished out drinks, and we did not. I may return to try the food because the drinks were impressive, but if I ever encounter that same server again, I definitely won't be sitting in his section.

They come back and said that they are not going to be carrying the item anymore, which seemed a little crazy to me as it is supposed to be in rotation for another month, but things happen. What really got me is that according to the host I never asked any questions about it. Said that we never discussed it, I never asked about it, and he doesn't know what I am talking about. This was less then 5 minutes after we had the conversation as I ended up not ordering and leaving. Although I was a little annoyed with the item not being there (things happen), I was more annoyed at the insistence that they had the brisket just to get me in the door, and then insisting that the conversation never happened. I had even told him when I asked that it was okay to say that he didn't know.
