I came here with low expectations after reading the reviews, but my car was in dire need of a bath and hand-washing was not an option due to the freezing weather, so I went ahead and risked it for the biscuit. My only hope and expectation was that the wash would get all the salt and grime from the snowy weather from my undercarriage and sides of the car. I opted to join their wash club and purchased the "Buy 5 Get 1 Free" $15 car wash ($75 total.) Jake's seems to be the only place in the area that gets at least 50% good reviews, and I know I'm going to be getting my car rinsed off often, so why not? Let me tell you, I was impressed. Is it going to be spotless like you hand washed it yourself? No. Nothing beats a hand wash. Did it miss a few spots, like in nooks and crannies and oddly angled/covered areas? Yes. But Jake's Car Wash got 99.5% of all the salt, snow, and dirt off my car. Jake's did such a good job, that I took my BF's truck through today. His truck was grimier than my car, and it still did a great job of getting his truck clean. Jake's does a phenomenal job for the price. I'm willing to bet that those that complained about a poor wash probably looked at their car when they got home and saw some grime from driving on the road from Jake's to their home. My BF's truck was pretty much spotless when I left the car wash, but by the time I got home, I saw some dust and salt on the sides. And, yes, I'm from out of town, but I'm a highly satisfied customer and will be returning. read more

Jake's is the only place within half an hour that does what a touchless car wash is supposed to do. You pay the machine & it gives your car a warm shower. Prices are fairly reasonable for the area, the cycle times are a few minutes, and the dryers actually dry. I usually get the second-cheapest option, and it gets the grime off. Minus 1 star for the slightly inflated price and the looong lines on nice days. But it is a bit of a car-wash wasteland around here. There's automated places & detailers, and nothing in between. Jakes is the most convenient, best maintained, and most consistent option. read more

I was a little bummed after the receipt printer didn't print out my member number after purchasing a wash combo (total $90 for 6 washes, I believe). I called and they came right out to fix the machine, though there seemed to be a miscommunication and I was waiting a while after they had closed to get my receipt with the member number for the other washes. I called the next day and I was able to get help from Molly, who was able to give me all info needed and make the situation right. I appreciate it, Molly, thank you! I have used this service frequently in the past five years or so and have always found it to be satisfactory. In an earlier review on google four years ago, I stated that "What you do get is quick but comprehensive wash, rinse and dry cycles that take about four minutes. Your car is clean with little or no remaining dirt or grease." Alas, this is no longer true. After going through the cycle today the car was still coated with a greasy film. I dirtied four chamois clothes to get it all off. When I went upstairs to complain, the woman in charge offered no accommodation, telling me that if the dirt remains "the next time" then I should fetch her to come to see it for herself. I guess she thought I carry greasy towels around just to get a free wash. But there will be no next time. Save your money or go elsewhere, which is what I intend to do. read more

FIX YOUR MACHINES! Three times now I've paid $10 for an express wash, only to have your machine cover my car in soap, then dry it, and then...that's it. No rinse. Green light flashes, door opens, and I'm beeped at until I leave, car covered in soap suds. The first time occurred last summer. The owner was apologetic, gave me a free (actual) wash, and assured me he was getting his machine fixed. Tonight the temperature is in the single digits. After my car was 'washed,' I exited, and then, recognizing that I didn't want soapy foam frozen to my car, decided to try the other bay, figuring there was no way this could happen twice in a row. The truck that had just exited that bay appeared fully rinsed. There's no way this could happen again, right? It happened again. I notice that all the 5-star reviews are from out of town, yet the locals all say what a complete crap-storm / rip-off this place is. Huh... If you REALLY need to get your car wet (note I did not say, "clean"), then I suppose you have few options. But don't put up the big money here -- it doesn't get your car any cleaner than standard wash (which is deplorable and still overpriced). Wait times average 30 - 60 minutes because they're the only game in town. If you have an overhang above your rear window (e.g., hatchback, SUV) it will not get cleaned at all. Maintenance on the mediocre vacuums is non-existent, and the coin slot is permanently blocked, so get those singles ready (who runs this place, an exotic dancer?). But, again, they're the only game in town. And don't they know it? read more

In reading the various recent reviews of this place, I am not sure what Jake's patrons have been expecting. For $10 you are not going to get a faultless washing job that would pass a "white glove" inspection, as if you'd just had your vehicle expertly detailed for $150. What you DO get is quick but comprehensive wash, rinse and dry cycles that take about four minutes. Your car is clean with little or no remaining dirt or grease. In the winter, this is important, as their process is more than enough to remove most of the grime and salt that mercilessly accumulates and invites rust and other problems. My only complaint is that the drying phase is inadequate, and I find that I must take about five minutes afterwards to get my Honda Civic nice and dry with a couple of good quality freshly laundered microfiber towels that I keep in the trunk. After that, the car sparkles and looks great. Judging from the long lines that one can encounter there, particularly in the late afternoons and on weekends, Jake's must be doing something right! read more

I have gone to Jake's Car Wash 2 times and will not go back. Each time the rear of my car looks like it was not cleaned. Today was no different. After spending $15 dollars I would expect the dirt on the trunk to be gone, when I got out to inspect I could still see the fingerprints in the dust on the rear of my sedan. After a fun day at the beach our rental car ended up with a lot of sand on the seats and the floor. Went to Jake's car wash to use the vacuum to clean out the results from our fun. The vacuums worked fantastic and ran a lot longer then I expected them to operate for what little we had to pay. Overall a great value with great well maintained equipment. Next time we're in the area and need to clean out or vehicle we'll be returning to Jake's car wash. read more

Long overdue on this review, but i got my reminder yesterday when I decided to pull into Jakes car wash, that I needed to write a review about my experiences at this place. My truck was dirty, (8/30/2018) mostly dusty not like mud caked on or anything. I pulled in and selected the highest wash package which is $18, a little steep but my truck is still fairly new so I figured the hot wax package would make it shine. As is typical with this place, I was really disappointed. I hadn't been there in probably over a year, and stopped going there because my other truck always still looked like crap after a wash there. So got it washed, noticed the the lighted sign for the hot wax never lit, makes me wonder if it even works, and as I suspected the truck looked like crap. I could still see the smiley face my son drew in the dust on my door. Spots all over, as usual, and really not much shine. For 18 bucks I would have figured it would look a lot better. Oh well, back to the other car washes over the border, Jakes car wash is still a major disappointment. read more

Earlier this year I would have said decent car wash but a bit expensive since there are not many in the area. However when the demand for a car wash is high you are going to be there forever. Once you enter the line through the storage area plan to be stuck in a line of cars for at least 30 minutes. Once you enter there is no way to turn around because of the security gates and route. So far I've been sitting for 40 minutes. This wouldn't be so bad but there isn't any way to estimate the wate time. They should post it somewhere. BEWARE long wait ahead. read more

it can be tough to find a self-service touchless car wash, so we were so excited to finally find jake's. this is conveniently located near 89/91 when we are traveling to and from killington and the car needs to be cleaned from all the snow and salt. the best part is that the car wash is card operated, so you don't have to worry about frantically searching for quarters or having cash on hand. read more

If I could rate them "0" stars, I absolutely would. We just relocated to the Upper Valley last year, and this "car wash" is the nearest one to me. So, I happily paid for the $14 deluxe wash to get my mildly dirty/dusty car clean. When I came out the other side, it looked as if nothing had happened. My car was slightly less dusty, but there was still a very visible layer of dirt and grime over the entire vehicle. I would say it was no different than if I just drove my car through a light rainstorm. I couldn't believe my eyes! $14 is not entirely cheap, and this is what it gets me? Easily one of the worst auto car wash experiences I have ever had. Unbelievable. Do not waste your money here! You are much better off with a hose and a brush. read more

I haven't been to a car wash in several years, so the other day I looked up to see where they were and read some reviews. There are not many car washes in the Upper Valley. It was a cold day in January and time to get the salt and dirt off. I went to one and there was no way to tell where the line was and no one around. I went to Jake's in Lebanon NH and got into line. They were moving (2 lines) and didn't take that long. I was 4th in line and about as many behind me. When I approached the drive-up menu, I needed help and soon there was an employee who assisted me in a very friendly way and I was in the wash. Everything went well, and for $10. Went to get my car washed today, one of the two car wash bays was broken, leaving long lines with only one wash available. After waiting over 30 minutes, when I finally pull in the car wash and half my car is covered in soap, the car wash shuts off and tells me to exit, allowing the next car to enter. The management refuses to let me go back in stating I have to wait in line again and repay for another car wash!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I finally got my $10 back, but then had to try to hand wash the soap off my car in the 10 degree weather...... Thanks Jake's.... I will definitely not be back again. read more
