White River Car Wash - Wash results! Really?!

    White River Car Wash

My best advice: STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL-HOLE, The White River Car Wash…read more Fortunately, there is a brand new car wash, soon to open, called The Station Car Wash, two parcels away from the hell-hole, The White River Car Wash The feeble old man who pretends to manage The White River Car Wash is a train-wreck, useless!; this man is mechanically and functionally incompetent. The White River Car Wash is the consummate dispenser of deception. $18.00 for a basic, (make believe) high pressure water car wash, which is useless. Many components of the car wash equipment do not work. The self-service car washes are archaic, like the useless old man who pretends to manage this place, the dials on the control head don't work, the White River Car Wash charges $6.00 for a 4 minute car wash, 2 of the 4 minutes are wasted, waiting for the hoses to prime (larceny!), and the water is so hard, that it will leave your car with grossly visible water stains. The first self-service car wash bay does not work, there is no sign that it is out of service, nor a cone, blocking the car wash bay; it looks like this bay has been out of service for a long time. 3 out of 4 vending machines in the vending machine room are marked Out of Service. In my opinion, the owner of the White River Car Wash, has an unwavering level of dedication to taking money from his/her customers, and not delivering the advertised product or service. I am told that The Station Car Wash, practically, next door to the White River Car Wash, is within a few weeks of opening. Unfortunately, the Upper Valley is robust in awful car washes, and very expensive car washes. Best you wait for rain to clean your car, and hope that The Station Car Wash will deliver a good product (at a reasonable price (unlike Lady Rich Express Car Wash in West Lebanon, NH), when it opens.

In addition, the undercarriage wash didn't work at all, the button for the $20 wash was broken, and the stoplight inside the machine did not turn on. I want my money back!

Jake's Car Wash - After the wash

I came here with low expectations after reading the reviews, but my car was in dire need of a bath…read moreand hand-washing was not an option due to the freezing weather, so I went ahead and risked it for the biscuit. My only hope and expectation was that the wash would get all the salt and grime from the snowy weather from my undercarriage and sides of the car. I opted to join their wash club and purchased the "Buy 5 Get 1 Free" $15 car wash ($75 total.) Jake's seems to be the only place in the area that gets at least 50% good reviews, and I know I'm going to be getting my car rinsed off often, so why not? Let me tell you, I was impressed. Is it going to be spotless like you hand washed it yourself? No. Nothing beats a hand wash. Did it miss a few spots, like in nooks and crannies and oddly angled/covered areas? Yes. But Jake's Car Wash got 99.5% of all the salt, snow, and dirt off my car. Jake's did such a good job, that I took my BF's truck through today. His truck was grimier than my car, and it still did a great job of getting his truck clean. Jake's does a phenomenal job for the price. I'm willing to bet that those that complained about a poor wash probably looked at their car when they got home and saw some grime from driving on the road from Jake's to their home. My BF's truck was pretty much spotless when I left the car wash, but by the time I got home, I saw some dust and salt on the sides. And, yes, I'm from out of town, but I'm a highly satisfied customer and will be returning.

I did my homework and started my vehicle hunt two weeks before my purchase. I visited five different dealerships on-line comparing vehicles and prices in both NH and VT. I received a great price offer from a dealer in NH and I was pretty sure I was going to purchase that vehicle but I thought I would try White River to see what they could offer. After a quick and easy volley of emails and one or two telephone calls I made an appointment to meet With Alexis. It's great when you get what you want for a price that you believe is reasonable. There were no gimmicks or hidden surprises. Alexis made it easy. So, thank you Alexis and thank you White River Toyota. I got a great vehicle for a great price and the time between my initial visit and when I drove the vehicle off the lot was minimal. I basically purchased my vehicle on a hand-held device!

On the day of the appointment, my car wasn't fully serviced when I picked it up. I still don't know why many of the requested services were skipped--I was only given a final sheet listing a few completed items. Was the shop busy that day? Do you usually assume that customers want to pay as little as possible? Or did someone just decide by appearance that I wouldn't be able to afford the full service? (I'm a proud Native American, by the way.) Or were some of those services considered unnecessary at the time? Overall--I'm still gonna wonder, why? I didn't report or argue about it at the office afterward. I was on medical leave at the time and dealing with a lot of pain, so I didn't have the energy to handle the inconvenience on top of everything else. Despite this, the shop still did a good job--my car drives noticeably smoother after this partially disappointing service. (I can only imagine how great it could have been if the full maintenance had been completed.) I've been loyal to Toyota for a long time in my homeCountry, but honestly, this first maintenance experience has completely ruined my US-Toyota impression. It added up to my very first experience with this same branch, where I waited months to receive the spare key included in my car purchase. No one contacted me for months, and when I finally reached out, the office said they had simply "forgotten" to cut it.

Some of the good for starters: Service Advisors are friendly…read moreand helpful. The facility is nice - good waiting area and you can have a cup of coffee or grab a bottle of water. When pushed, they'll stick to the original quote and honor the price that they've quoted. That's where the good in the service area ends, though. They will try to upsell you on unnecessary services or make things sound worse than they are. For example, on my 2008 Honda Ridgeline where new brakes were put on less than 5000 miles ago, they wanted me to put on new rotors (again). Similarly, the radiator was flushed at that time I did the brakes but, UV Honda recommended having the service performed again as the service wasn't completed at their dealership. There were other items on the list of To Dos that came from the technician that, later, the service advisor said were not truly necessary. If I was less educated about vehicles, I might have gone for what they offered - which came to more than $1500 worth of work. I happen to be the son of a mechanic. I tried contacting the Service Manager who was unrelenting about the additional services. So, I took my truck to an independent mechanic - this same afternoon where I had the car at UV Honda. While technically they may have been on point with a few items, the mechanic said that it comes down to the reasonableness and urgency of what needs to be done. UV Honda made it sound like it was all urgent. There was pressure to spend money that was likely unnecessary at the time. Even their advisor, though, as I checked out said that it wasn't all necessary. I was also approached by their used vehicle manager - who offered me an insulting value for the vehicle. Really, nearly $10k less than what folks online are asking. Again, this seems and felt predatory. To boot they have a 3% credit card charge. I used my debit card, which avoids the 3%. It's annoying, though, that they charge that. They need to get their processing in order at their bank imho. So, yes, it's a dealer. Yes they service Honda's. They use Honda parts. My opinion, though, is to AVOID Upper Valley Honda, though. There are many qualified local mechanics in the region.

TLDR; Incredible service-- professional and trust-worthy…read more I called on a Saturday hoping for a same-day wheel/tire swap and they had me in within the hour. The staff here is remarkably accommodating; they handled my specific requests for tire/wheel placement without hesitation. While waiting, I actually enjoyed sitting outside in the sun rather than a cramped waiting room, and ended up having a great conversation with the team about local overlanding and trails. Most importantly, their inspection sheet clearly indicated that they verified and torqued every lug nut to spec. As someone who usually feels the need to re-check torque after visiting a shop, this was the first time I felt total peace of mind heading home. If you prefer "fancy" workers in suits and overpriced "free" coffee from a dingy old coffee pod machine while getting charged dealership premiums, go elsewhere. But if you want quality work done by down-to-earth people who treat you like a human rather than a target for upselling, give this place a go. 10/10 experience.

Recently, I had a large screw embedded into my tire while driving and they got me in right away, patched it, and made sure I was safe for my upcoming trip. Thank you all for being so helpful!
