Grilled cheese and Sweet Potato Tater Tots

Best bar deals in NYC! My group was here on Monday for my birthday and the drinks were half off all night. The bar was very spacious with plenty of room for my friends and I to watch the MLB Home Run Derby. The bartender Wade was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The sweet potato tots were really good! I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

This place has a heartbeat like no other! I love this place it's my home. They play the best 2016 club bangers. Im talking Drake and Nicki best era of rap and vibes bro. The bouncers are lovely and the drinks are a bit expensive but it's cool, just come drunk from dead poets down the street. I really like their T-shirts that they wear "all disco no dilemma" I want one but they don't sell them sadly. Service is good and Im not talking table I'm talking the service that the dj does

Came here for a happy hour work outing around 3pm on a Monday and it was pretty empty which makes sense but I felt that I enjoyed it because it wasn't as crowded or loud. I enjoyed the drinks here and the servers were very kind and they smile a lot too. We got the appetizer sample platter, Mac and cheese bites and chicken tenders. My favorite had to be the mac and cheese bites. I definitely could've eaten more of these and if I come back, I would choose to order more of these alongside one of their drinks.

Stopped in here the other night on the way home. My husband and I were able to grab seats at the bar and a $3 bud light seltzer and a $5 tap beer It's your basic neighborhood bar on Amsterdam nothing fancy and always has ll a crowd drinking and plying pool and foosball Service was great, the bartender and manager were super friendly and very funny. Wasn't my first time here and won't be my last!

I came here for a private event so I didn't get to try the spot's food offerings as our party had outside food but I did get a bunch of drinks at the bar in the private area. The bartender was efficient and friendly despite having to man an open bar alone with at least 20 people in attendance. The private area was very cozy, clean and had its own bathroom which was super convenient.

We always love this neighborhood spot. Glad to have it a block away from its sister spot, the Gin Mill. This a pretty standard bar with lots on tap. The food is tasty (and made at Gin Mill and then brought down the block). We like going here because of their happy hour ($5 pints). Never been at night when it's busier with a crowd on Fri/Sat but when we need it, it's always a good option.

We were looking for something close to The Beacon Theater and we stumbled upon this great awesome gem. Jake's Dilemma was slow when we got there but I will say within 20 minutes it picked up and we placed our order and all came out great. We got a cheeseburger and tots, fried chicken sandwich with fries and both orders were prefect. Friendly service, great food and atmosphere. I totally would go again and highly recommend. Thanks Jake's for a really good pre show dinner !

My friends and I had a fabulous times at Jake's Dilemma and will definitely be back. We met up around 8:30pm for casual drinks. There were about 6 of us and we easily found a table at that time. A couple hours later, a dance floor opened. We didn't realize Jake's had dancing and were pleasantly surprised! Our casual night turned into a late night dancing and having fun with DJ orange bananas. I will be coming back. I love that I found such a friendly bar in my neighborhood.

Honestly the 4 stars is for their daily specials (Wednesday is a GREAT DAY). Food is typical bar food (7/10).

The food was good and drinks were too. The space and workers were also very accommodating. Clean bathrooms and everything. My place of employment wanted to book somewhere to have our holiday gathering after work for December 2025. I visited U Bar in person in late October to inquire about such an event for approximately 70 people. The host informed me to get in touch with the owner due to such a large amount of people and just wanted to ensure that it could be accommodated as needed. I had no problem with that and she gave me the business card, I bought some grilled chicken pasta Alfredo and headed home. As soon as I got home I spoke to the owner Eddy both via text and call. We spoke about what accommodations I would need, he said no problem. I reiterated to him that it was something that would be very informal and he told me that since it was on Friday, he would honor the "college Friday" deal that they have for college students for myself and colleagues as well. As you can imagine I was all for it, he booked it for December 19th at 4pm. He told me that he could open earlier for us, but just for the downstairs section which was perfectly fine. No hassle. After the call, I got an automated text stating that my reservation for "15" people had been booked and confirmed. I called him back immediately and told him that the reservation was for 70 problem as discussed, not 15. He told me not to worry that it'll be fixed in the system eventually but that I didn't have to worry about the glitch. I said okay fine. Keep in mind, this was late October this all transpired. Fast forward to December 11th 2025, I got an automated text stating that my reservation had been updated to 70 people. Not sure why it took a month and a half to "update" the number of people but I didn't care as long as the agreement we had had been met the day of. Then the VERY NEXT DAY on 12/12, I got an automated text stating that my reservation for 12/19 had been canceled altogether. Feeling understandably confused and annoying, I called U Bar at least 6 times to speak to someone to clear up what the confusion about the reservation is because I'm only a week out from the date of the event at this point. NO ONE picked up the phone but they were definitely open at the time. Remembering that I had Eddy's number from speaking to him prior, I called him to no answer but then texted him to explain my grievance. He then proceeded to respond back and say that the restaurant, managers as well as HIMSELF had been calling me prior to because I had two reservations booked. Now, keep in mind, I didn't actually make the reservation on my end, HE, the OWNER, made the reservation based on our conversation. I explained how disappointed I was that the reservation would be cancelled without notice. He informed me that he would speak to the manager about the situation. He hasn't gotten back to me. I then spoke to my best friend who had the idea of calling the restaurant and sneaking a merged call where I could speak to them. He did in fact get in contact with someone at U Bar (I heard it myself) but then the line disconnected. He called back immediately and no one picked up. No one there ever called me about having two reservations. I tend not to even believe that I had two reservations because ... 1. I never booked any reservation there on MY end. 2. Why didn't I receive an automated message about the "other" reservation that was allegedly booked as I had gotten about the one for the event? 3. The owner alleged that I had a reservation booked for both 12/12 (the day my original reservation was cancelled) AND 12/19 the actual day of the event. But even if I did have two reservations, what difference would that make? Am I not allowed to reserve a spot on multiple days? What would one reservation have to do with the other? None of it makes any sense. They will never see a DIME from me and what's worse is that I was ACTUALLY looking forward to my colleagues and I really visiting this place and getting the same care that I initially felt back in August. Now, I pray for the day this place becomes a parking lot. Unbelievably unprofessional.

The bartenders often have a weirdly grouchy "bro" energy that makes you feel like you're bothering them just by ordering a drink. Last fall, one guy was even playing music that sounded like a Christian radio station. The lyrics literally had the word "Lord" in them. It felt less like a neighborhood bar on the UWS and more like I'd wandered into a roadside bar somewhere in the Bible Belt. Another bartender always seems completely checked out. It's hard to flag him down, so we end up sitting there with empty drinks until he eventually notices. On our most recent visit it was a beautiful day outside, but we decided to sit inside since we were planning to order a bunch of food and settle in for a while. The basement was musty and dark and all the windows were shut. We politely asked if they could open a window or turn on the AC for a bit just to air it out. The response was a flat "No." That was it. When we asked why, he said if he did that someone else might complain, and then he just walked away. He kind of just waived us away, it was the weirdest interaction. That was the last time we overlooked the attitude. We normally like to hang out and spend $120-$150 here, but at that price we don't want to feel like we're an imposition.

We had the unfortunate idea to grab some food here as we enjoyed some games (btw it's $15 a person to play indefinitely as long as they have space for your group). We ordered the burger, chicken sandwich, Cajun fries, hummus and pita and tater tots. For such a spacious location, they must have a play kitchen because most of the food was inedible. The "best" thing about my chicken sandwich (three tenders- was not even a patty) was the brioche bread. The "best" thing about the hummus was the pita. My friend took two bites of the burger and felt sick. We thought we had been pranked but felt sad about throwing so much food away. Just don't do it. I don't want to think about this food ever again. If you must, apparently the coffee was good and they have other drinks and pastries (which they hopefully outsource!).

This is a great grab and go/delivery alternative to Wonder, at much higher quality. The first time I ordered just aioli garlic fries to try the place out. they were hot, tasty, and a generous portion- just what I was craving coming home late. I then tried their special cheesesteak w brocolli and provolone which was also good and ordered chicken tenders for a friend. I tried my friend's chicken tenders and they were great so ordered those for my 3rd visit. They usually come 4 large tenders to an order with a sauce of your choice. A testament to their taste- I ate 2 and saved 2 for the next day and a family member visiting got to them before I did, and then asked where they were from to order more! I appreciate being able to have a selection of sauces to choose from and the portion size for the sauce is a larger cup than most places. The first time I ordered the tenders for my friend they had been sliced into- but that has not happened since and those tenders were especially large. It was their initial opening period and my guess is they did that to ensure the chicken was thoroughly cooked. The tenders were still hot and not dry. For ordering: you can either order online or in store at one of the two large digital tablets - luddites fear not- each time I have visited, I was warmly greeted by a staff member I now know to be named Justine who offered assistance and to let her know abt any questions regarding the menu or ordering. For customer service: there was a mistake with one of my first orders. I submitted a form on the website and was contacted that evening. It was handled promptly and professionally. I would probably give them 4 stars if not for the exceptional service and their first month open, what would really be lovely to see on the menu salads or a side vegetable as the other Olde City locations have. Hoping they're able to expand their menu as they establish their roots but wishing this business success!
