It tends to be a popular spot, as evidenced by the parking lots on each side of the gravel road. Fortunately, it wasn't too crowded on the Wednesday night that we arrived. It looked deceptively smaller on the outside to me. As we came in, we went up a few stairs and there was an extension we decided to sit at so that we would be able to have a little more space and less volume for privacy so we could catch up. It was pretty dark compared to the other area, which I prefer. Once we were seated, we were provided with menus and glasses of ice water. Our server was better than excellent. She gave an overview of the menu choices, which included burgers, wings, entrees, and a fantastic choice of appetizers. Our relatives went with a warm pretzel, which came out hung on a stand with 2 kinds of dip, beer cheese and I think a plain cheese, and mustard. We had a mixed appetizer dish which included chicken tenders and onion rings (I forget the other items, so much food.) These were typical pub fare, with 3 different dips you choose from idk how many total. Speaking of sauces to choose from, there must have been 30 or more on the list for wings and anything else you want it with. You'll notice that the prices are very odd, like $17.12 or $13.16. I regret not asking what the story is with that. Most of us went with burgers, which were 1/2 pound patties on beautiful, soft, shiny buns. I had the bourbon burger, which had a delicious sauce, crispy onions, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion. I could not finish this thing. I love that NY state lets you have your burger cooked to your choice of doneness, so I was extra happy to enjoy mine medium rare. I got my usual fries for my side, which were par the course if too salty for me. My daughter built her own burger as an option, which she also loved but couldn't finish. My husband's wings were enormous, as was the order of mac and cheese our cousin had. Our server was practically telepathic as she anticipated when we needed refills or other incidental. I love that this place lets you buy the staff a pitcher of beer to show appreciation. Idk when they drink it or how they share, but it's a great gesture. My guess is it's when they close and before they go home. It's the kind of place you can sit around and enjoy for hours while watching sports on the television screens all around, or have a game and your drinks. Solid spot for a casual pub style meal. Would definitely be going regularly if I lived there. read more

My nephew recommended this restaurant and I was in the area with my friends and we stopped in. The inside is like a sports bar with several tv's, long bar and open seating area. We were greeted promptly by the bartender and she gave us our menus. She was very friendly and smiling (which is so rare lately). She made us feel at home and I asked her for suggestions. She mentioned the burger with apples. It sounded interesting to me so I ordered it. I would have never thought to put this together but it was amazing!! The burger was cooked perfectly to my liking at medium rare. The apples tasted like homemade and were in a slightly sweet sauce. For my side I had the homemade macaroni salad. It was very fresh and tasty. My friends also loved their lunch. Definitely will be back!! read more

The food here was absolutely great. We came in on Friday after a long afternoon of swimming on the lake. Business wasn't too busy and the patio was quiet. We sat outside and the server was right out to get our appetizer and drink order. She was very attentive and made sure to do laps to check on us several times. For our apps we ordered the fried cheese curds and the cheesy fries. For the entrees we all ordered the fish fry. Mine came with potato salad and some extra crispy tots. Extra sauce? We headed to Jake's Grub & Grog ! Always a good meal here. We started off with some onion rings. I don't know what the dipping sauce was. But you could sell it at the market! Wow, tasty goodness! I ordered the seafood platter. Shrimp, scallops, clams, and haddock. Look at that fish! HUGE! Flaky and moist as well. Good tartar and cocktail sauces. The salad was good, with all fresh ingredients. Mostly romaine as the base. Italian dressing could use some help. Pretty bland. Overall Jakes is always a solid meal. Multiple variations of Mac and cheese available if that's your thing. Oh my god!!! this place is amazing in every aspect!! * Food - We ordered a lot, But the Mac and cheese was Absolutely incredible, giant dinner portions, worth more then its price!! the Boneless mild Wings were good!! the right amount of sauce for a perfect level of spicy. The Chicken bacon ranch Quesadilla was scrumptious, im very glad i ordered it. the pretzel comes suspended ON A HOOK, it was very cool. Sometimes you just want someplace that feels like home...close, comfortable, friendly, and everything you want to eat...that's Jakes. We didn't want fancy, we just wanted good food at a great price, and since we couldn't decide on exactly what we wanted (after an hour of discussion!) we circled back to an old favorite. I knew I wanted their Mac n cheese (they have an entire create your own Mac bowl menus and toppings) but I also tend to lean toward quesadillas or taco creations when indecisive, and my husband well.... pasta or a burger! You can't go wrong here! Creamy, huge, and pipping hot Mac n cheese that was still hot when we put in the take home box. The 3 taco combo with chicken, Mac n cheese (yes I know I know) and frizzled onions on top were exception. My husband joined the Mac & cheese band wagon too and added fried chicken to his. A friend told me about Jake's and so happy that a, listened to her b, convinced my customers to go there for lunch. FIREBALL Steak special was excellent, little bit of fat grizzel but overall great flavor. Tator tots were plentiful and also very good. Burger looked enormous and good. Just came in here to buy a gift card for my mother who comes here all the time and I can tell you I will never be coming here and will never be getting her a gift card from here again. I walk in, go to the bar, and the male bar tender looks at me like I am some sort of weirdo dirtbag. I stand there, he walks up in front me, looks at me again like l am a dirtbag, but since he is in front of me looking at me and...you know...works there, I begin asking him if I can buy a gift card. He gives me an asshole side eye and walks away as I am mid sentence. The girl who ended up helping me was VERY VERY nice, but....he ruined it for you. Must be I am either not "hot" enough or not enough of a regular there to be treated with decency. read more

We have been to Jake's many times and are never disappointed with the food nor the service. Their fish sandwiches with potatoe salad are outstanding, as are their broiled scallops in garlic sauce. We plan to go again tonight! A nice patio to eat on when the weather cooperates. Nothing fancy but very reasonable. read more

Went here to see one of my favorite local bands-they are amazing! We grabbed a drink at the bar and seated ourselves to enjoy the music. After 25 minutes of no service from the waitress, we went up to the bar to grab more drinks and order food. The older blonde bartender looked at our ids and then pointed to our waitress who was seated at the bar and said "she's your waitress, she can take care of you" we went back and she came right over so we could place our order. After a few minutes I grabbed her again to double check that they didn't cook with peanut oil, we've eaten here before but things change. She said "well they've already dropped your wings...so..." So I asked her if she would double check anyway. She came back 25 minutes later with our food which was piping hot...(so no way they had been dropped when she said they were....anyways..) over the next hour or so, we observed her walking away from multiple tables rolling her eyes and even saw her push a woman out of the way on the dance floor so she could get through. We left our change on the table (which admiringly wasn't much, but our service wasn't much either) and went outside to wait for our Uber. She came outside shortly after with our change and said "you forgot your change..." and walked back inside. Extremely rude from the moment she served us until the moment we left. I am in the service industry so I understand that some days are just plain bad, but my clients pay my bills, as do hers, but we were so offended by her attitude and service that we won't be back. read more
