Food was very bland. Just no flavor. Burrito size was very small and came with tomatoes inside. And way too many raw onions. Not on the menu. Also very few beans and rice. And the sour cream was overly abundant. And I love sour cream. But it was a sloppy mess and cold from all the sour cream. French fries were good. Service was good. Tacos good but the sauce they provide is pretty much straight up chili hot sauce. Chips pretty standard. Salsa was fresh but not much spice and no hot sauce on tables. Overall, just okay. read more

The food was good however, my boyfriend and I had ordered our drinks, along with our appetizer. Our drinks had come out, but nothing else. The appetizer was chips and queso. I had to ask my waitress when my chips and queso would come out due to our meal already being in front of us. The employees didn't check up on us once, as well as they were yelling and playing around while locking somebody outside. read more

Ordered a vodka tonic. Received a vodka made with sparkling water. I ordered a burrito combo and asked for blue cheese dressing. I received a hot Mexican cheese instead of blue cheese dressing. Our server never took the time to really listen to what we were trying to order. dinner was OK, nothing really spectacular about it. Our food wasn't even hot. Barely luke warm. Took a long time to get it even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. The burrito's which should have been nice and crispy were buried under all the lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and avocado. This made for a limp and soggy burrito. One of our knives were dirty. We were in a hurry for an appointment or we worked have brought all this to the attention of the management. We will not return to this restaurant. So many other Mexican places in this area are much better than this. read more

I'm typically pretty impressed with the food, quality and service at jalapeños. Tonight, I can say that was not the case. I brought my daughter and granddaughter out to dinner. My daughter and I both ordered fajitas de la casa. That comes with chicken, shrimp and steak. We added mushrooms to our order. When the food arrived, the portion was very small. It only came with rice or beans. And there was literally 2 tablespoons of beans spread across the plate. There was less than one mushroom thinly sliced per fajita platter. Yet they charge $6.50 to add mushrooms. They do not come with pico de gallo anymore, which is abnormal. And the sour cream was literally a teaspoon worth. The guacamole was runny and I won't explain what it look like on the plate. Just imagine it wasn't pleasant to the eye. The taste of the food was mediocre and over salted. I also ordered a kids meal for my granddaughter which was a pizza and fries. She never leaves food on her plate, but this time 50% of the food was left behind. They also charged $3.50 for the drink which should've been included in the kids meal. My total cost for the meal for two fajita platters one kids meal one Horchata and one margarita was $90. I will not be back again. Very disappointing. I've been there before and the food quality and service was much better. read more

Not impressed but I know good Mexican food when I taste it - this place ain't it. I ordered the poblanos - tasteless and small. Oil seemed to taste not real fresh. I wanted a side of sour cream .... $2.45 for a little glob ? Service ok. Food not good enough to return again. To be honest I can't think of one good Mexican restaurant in Angola that has good food....you will have to go to Kendallville or ligonier for excellent restaurant choices - with that being said I remembered one place across from the "then and now" antique shop just west of the monument on the south west side of Angola and it was very authentic Mexican food. Visited Jalapeño's back in June while visiting family and decided to try them out because they'd just opened. Atmosphere was great and being able to see into the kitchen was an awesome experience. Ordered a bunch of items and the fam was quite happy with the dishes that they'd ordered. It was a Friday so knowing this service was a bit slow. But the restaurant itself was super busy so this was expected. We did sit outside on the patio and our server did the best she could considering it was a Friday. But all in all, this dinner was pretty good. read more

We ordered the nacho plate and chicken chimichanga burrito plate for carry out. The chimichanga was a soggy slimy tortilla with some brown slime on the outside and the inside was just a tiny bit of shredded chicken and green peppers. Refried beans were runny and dumped on top of the burrito toppings (lettuce and sour cream) in the carry out container. The nacho plate wasn't much better. It had about 10 chips spread on the bottom of the tray with random toppings dumped on top and was soggy. Not at all what we expected and definitely not a quality meal for the price. read more

Been here several times since opening. Same restaurant in auburn Indiana. Loved auburn. The Fremont location has the same good food but the staff is a lot different. Tonight I ordered the chimi fajitas. She actually came back to double check and confirm. I ordered it without green peppers no big deal. First the she brought the wrong order completely. A ground beef burrito with pees and onions. Waited about 8 min for her to come back and explained this not even my meal. She returned very quickly with what looked like my dinner asked if everything was ok. I looked and said we will see in a min or two. She left. I cut into the chimi and there it was. Green peppers. We waited another 10 min for her to return. My wife and granddaughter had finished their meals so I told her it was wrong and had green peppers and to just take it off the bill I wasn't hungry anymore. She went and got the bill, laid on the table and walked away without a word. BAM there it was still in the bill. Really! I went to the counter and explained the situation and cashier without saying a word pushed some buttons then asked again the chimi right? I said yes. Without another word he range me up took payment and I left. I have ate here a few times since opening. The food was good but service has been a big issue. Was visiting from out of state and the marina we used for our boat rental suggested Jalapenos if we like Mexican food. We had a party of 8 and things went extremely well. The food was very good, priced reasonably and the service was outstanding. We would go back if we were going to stay longer. Will come back the next time we are in the area. read more

We have had a few great experiences here, but after tonight I'm not sure we will be back. We were given a bill that said 107 and then the waitress charged the card 127 and never said anything about the bill changing prior to running the card. (Which is fine but being notified about the change would have been the appropriate thing) We then ordered a deep fried dessert and waited 40/45 minutes and still never received it. I ended up leaving before ever receiving it. I did ask to speak to the manager and that was never granted to me, and following asking and not receiving I decided it was best to leave. read more
