Asked for 3lbs ground beef. Showed me taco meat. No I need ground beef. I asked Butcher to help me choose from the prepackaged ground beef. Apparently foodsco does not ground their own. Only sell in prepackaged I told him I don't trust it fresh. Last two times it was taken home and no good. Smart this time got to car. Punched open pack of meet and it was no good. Smelled like rotten eggs got a refund. This is the third time within four months this has happened. From now on going to buy ground beef from Farmers Market in Gonzales. It was fresh and five dollars less than foodsco. At foodsco if you buy ground beef and the plastic on top is a tight balloon I bet it is rotten. Happened to me three times

At no point did I throw the money, toss it at her, or behave in a rude or malicious manner. When the cashier, Andrea G., gave me my change, she placed it on the checkout belt. I had no issue with that. However, there were several coins included in my change, and before I had finished gathering all of it, she began placing another customer's groceries onto the same belt. I politely said, "Excuse me, my change is under there," because the other customer's groceries were being placed where my change was. Andrea responded, "It's over there," in a manner that I felt was unnecessarily dismissive and rude. At that point, I told her, "You're being extremely rude." I want to be very clear that I was respectful throughout the transaction. I did not throw money at her or treat her disrespectfully. My concern arose from the way my change was handled and the way I was spoken to when I tried to retrieve it.

As a long time shopper of Grocery Outlet I was ecstatic when they opened one up in Soledad…read more previously the nearest was a 45 min commute to Salinas. For those unfamiliar it's a store that may or may not have what you are looking for but if they do (bread, produce and alcohol aside) the prices are often far more reasonable than the grocery store. My approach when it's grocery time is to first stop at Grocery Outlet, get the items or brands you need that are available and address the delta at a nearby more costly grocery store where you get the remaining items. That combination ensures you are saving more each month as a result. For those things they do carry, the prices are often much less. And on occasion priced too good to be true, when that happens look carefully at the expiry. Even in those moments I am content buying a container of orange juice for half the price even if I know it will expire in two days. More often than not it will not last longer than that anyway. They often have some off the wall brands of things like ice cream but admittedly It was what introduced me to Brave Robot Blue berry pie ice cream and Ample Hills Gooey Butter Cake ice cream. Both absolute knocks out of the park and doubly so with them being $2.50 a container. You may have to scrutinize the price and product but after a while it's second nature and you will be hard pressed to save as much. I imagine this is exponentially better if you have a large family. Lastly, this location specifically, the owners recognize law enforcement and military personnel and will issue you a hard card that can be used for a $3.00 discount on a $35 bill every shopping visit. They also offer periodic receipt coupons for $5.00 on a specific amount. If you plan to shop there anyway it's just an added savings bonus. This may not be for everyone but I for one appreciate it and absolutely love having one 15 mins away. Thank you Grocery Outlet.

I wanted a Pinot Noir and instead of it being grouped together it was all over the place! Some bottles mixed with Cabernet, Malbec and more. Out of the five stores in our area Seaside is most organized and the volume of sales speaks volumes. Marina comes in close then Salinas, haven't been in Prunedale for a while. Being in a region where we have many wineries they should be better!

I read on Yelp that this market has an excellent deli, so we went here to grab sandwiches for lunch…read moreone day during our Carmel Valley stay. It was quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon. They have you fill out a form for ordering a sandwich. On one side of the form you can order a speciality sandwich with all the ingredients listed or on the other side you can build your own sandwich. Then you give the form to the deli cashier and they call your name when it's ready. I had the Malibu chicken speciality sandwich, which was excellent. It came on the softest roll and the chicken had plenty of flavor. A couple other people in our party had the tri tip sandwich and said it was delicious. I would definitely return to Jerome's for a deli lunch again.

The aisles can be a bit small which I could see being a bit of a pain if there are lots of people in the store. You can pretty much find anything you are looking for here. Albeit not necessarily the same volume as a chain grocery store but everything here seems to be good quality. We found lots of good wine as well. Then we got to the deli. It's pretty impressive with standard items like the various prepared salads (chicken, tuna, etc). We wanted to try the sandwiches and for that you'll need to get the order forms from outside near the entrance, then take them to the counter, wait a bit and they'll call you when it's ready. We both got mediterranean sandwiches to go. You can get build your own as well but I figured I'd go with one on the menu. The sandwich was delicious. Fresh ingredients, really good bread, and everything just worked in the sandwich. I really enjoyed it. We also got some butter beans from the deli and those were amazing as well. I highly recommend Jerome's and will be back again.
