Everyone is amazing and very sweet never had a bad experience once and I go like once a week food and service is pure excellence

I hate doing a bad review, I come here several times a week, the service has been pretty good when served by the ladies, but today, a gentleman that goes by "Chava" served me and wow... really, really bad service. Brought me coffee with no creamer, no water and no chips and salsa. He than started to take two other tables' orders while I waited for my creamers, water and chips and salsa. I had to asked another server "female" if she could get me what I asked asked for. She asked "Chava" if he was attending me. The server Brought out the food, but wait... no creamers, no water this time. He came back for the 5th time.... and still no water. Went in while at work during our lunch break on 4/2/26. As one person i spend $49. We had a party of 6 . Literally everyone had items on there check that was either paid for by someone already or double charged. It felt very malicious as if she knew what she were doing to charge us more. Right away race shaming! Pity my entire family is white,black,mexican or mixed either way we have eaten here from opening to 2025. Today took the icing on the cake when one of the head male waiters sat me in the corner barely spoke to me.then got agitated when I wasn't ready to give my order, so he came back I gave him my order. He snatched the menu for me, letting it fling open while staring at me. Then him and another waitress came to me, asking me what was wrong? I said he's being rude and I would prefer the waitress to serve me and could he not come back to my table? Thank you. Every time he walked by he kept looking at my table. It's pathetic we as customers pay high cost for hot and good food which I can honestly say 75%times out of is not hot and quite honestly not that good! Today the food I did NOT have to wait to eat or blow it and the cheese was not even melted on it! The small cup queso did not even fill up a whole small cup still had chunks of cheese in it was $10. I could've made it at home for less than six dollars. My meal was $30 and I still even left a tip cause that's how my family does when we eat out. Breakfast lunch and sometimes even dinner. We all like to also take care of small town businesses! This place I tell you I sat there and shed a tear cause for years I've been treated so bad and it brought back so many memories, from a man not having a good day or because I'm white? Where do I start. A roach was crawling along the wall. I mentioned it to the cashier and another customer nearby saw it too. The food had a burned taste, I narrowed it down to the green salsa. I mentioned ut to my waitress, she said someone else mentioned that the other day. (So my question is why are you still serving it?) Anitger waitress brought me ice tea and only put 3 ice cubes in it cause she heard i dont like a lot of ice. I comnented that i like the glass about half full of ice. She got very hostile and was disrespectful. At that point, i told her to cancel my order if she's going to be pissy I'll take my business somewhere else. Honestly, mediocro to sub par food, outrageously high prices, and realky hit ir miss service. Skip this one, they take no pride in their business. Quick service, always friendly, always good food. I love that they created a make shift drive through that is super effective. There are a few locations, however this one is the most consistent with their food. I mainly go for the breakfast burritos and creamy green salsa. Yummm. Waitress was rude from the moment she had to wait for us to view the menu. Food was tasteless... ordered tortilla soup and they made it with pico de gallo, filled it up with 10-12 large tortilla chips just found the easy way out. Spouse ordered enchilada plate and was also tasteless nor did it have rice or beans...a classic side for a Mexican Dinner plate...once again the easy way out... Placed an order for a regular size Coke and water with limon ... during the meal she brought a large then charged us for a large Coke but that's not what we originally ordered This only explains why the restaurant was empty! Prices are also not comparable to others places ...carne guisda $20!!! Ridiculous ... We received a gift card, $50, as a gift for Jalisco's. When we went into the restaurant we showed the gift card to the waiter and she said that it was purchased at the other Jalisco's on Hwy 71, which we didn't realize. We asked her if they could accept it and she said that she could. When we completed the meal, they brought the gift card back and said they couldn't accept it. They said that they had a new system that was not in synch with the other store, so we had to pay for the full bill. The food was ok and the rita was ok, and the prices were average, but I am very disappointed in their ethics regarding the gift card. My recommendation is not to purchase a gift card from this company because the recipient may be stuck in an awkward situation. read more

This has been our "go to" for so long that I can't remember when we started. The food is excellent and the staff is the friendliest that I have seen at any restaurant. They were one of the only places that kept feeding people throughout COVID. Couldn't have made it without them always being open. read more

I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered chalupsa compuesta's with guacamole. It did not have guacamole but had sliced alvacado's. Also the price was much more than the other mexican restuarants in Bastrop and definately not as good. The salsa was so thin it wouldn't stay on the chip from the dish to the mouth. Unlike the food truck service is lacking. From half worn masks to no masks (seriously). I camefor bfast and had to ask someone other than my server twice for coffee. ALSO the patrons were not asked to wear masks either. At this point ur dumb if you don't with the surge. As for the food, good as the food truck. Really solid portions as well. I dipped the bacon and got Barbacoa instead and it was legit. It is so much better than its competitor across the Hwy. This town is limited on sit dwn spots so I guess ima have to find another spot that enforces masks or just stay home. Oh well. read more

It's just not good. And despite the language barrier I think they just don't care to make your order as requested. If I am paying for it, at least get it right. And I've tipped you for doing nothing but walking because I've ordered to go...the least my order can be is correct and good. Not cold and made wrong. I have eaten at many establishments all over with employees of many language barriers and never have a problem ordering and getting what I want. Today I ordered breakfast tacos and the girl understood exactly and even wrote it down. Very nice but Somehow the kitchen didn't care or couldn't read. Either way I wasted money, time, and food...sadly I'd rather waste it then to stomach eating it. 1 of our favorite little divey restaurants. Speaking as a vegetarian, their rice is delicious, cheese quesadillas with grilled onions & peppers is so good. Horchata is delicious. If you've never had horchata, imagine a drink with the consistency of skim milk, but it tastes like sweet rice milk with a dash of cinnamon. Really good. Love the chips & salsa. The staff is always friendly too. Tonight my wife got avocado tacos. She really enjoyed those. read more

Stopped in to get breakfast tacos. Used a credit card I hadn't used in a while. After leaving within 1 hour I had the credit card fraud dept with USAA calling me saying someone at Jaliscos scammed by card and was using it to purchase things. They said they had other USAA members had same thing this week so this store location has been marked for fraud. Don't go here. While Jaliscos may not being doing it themselves, someone that works there is. Just don't go. read more

I've been on a quest to find the best Mexican food in Bastrop. This is not it. When we drove up, a man was washing out trash cans in the front of the building, creating a terrible smell. The salsa really tasted like they took Pace and blended it up and added cilantro and onions to it. The service was good and we got our food quickly. I got a taco salad with ground beef. There was a bed of wet lettuce at the bottom of the shell, topped with a pink ground beef (it looks like they stew it with tomatoes. Not a good flavor). My husband got cheese enchiladas with a taco. He wasn't pleased. The beans have a weird smoky flavor that lingers... almost like they add liquid smoke. This just wasn't what we were looking for. read more

I assumed that since these guys have a great location they would have great food. I was completely wrong. Not is this the most generic mediocre Tex-Mex I have ever had. The service was horrible. Maybe I've been spoiled by all the awesoma Tex-Mex I get in Austin.. As I travel, I am always looking for restaurants that are just those diamonds in the rough that not only serve you a great, worthwhile meal but also keep you from eating at the fast food junk joints. Jalisco comes pretty close to diamond status. I love me some breakfast tacos. They are the real reason for the chicken. When I lived in New York, my goal in life was to seek out the best slice of pizza. In Dallas, I wanted to seek out the best Caesar Salad. Now that I live in Austin, it's all about the breakfast taco. See my photo for the visual aid, but you will see that Jalisco hits the mark pretty well on this front. For $7.50, I got a coffee (and the waitress was nice enough to send me on my way with a to go cup at no extra charge) and three (Count 'em, three!) breakfast tacos for under 8 bucks. I was completely satisfied with the generous combination of eggs, cheese, and spicy-enough salsa. I chose corn tortillas (which is not always a choice at some places), which were doubled up, and left full and happy. The restaurant is not one I would choose for a rehearsal dinner, but while on the road, I will make a point to stop at Jalisco to get my taco fix. This is a great stop for those who drive from Austin to points west (Houston) on Highway 71. You will have a yummy time. read more

Great service, food, and location. Food: Frequent visitor of this location. Will order the Cho Cho's Special as my frequent and substitute for corn tortilla. Overall quality of food is great and flavor becomes better with their homemade salsas you have to ask for. Food quality is always fresh and hot. Would have liked for this plate to come with a side of rice to increase amount of food. Drinks: For the purpose of my visits, usually order unsweet tea. Would be great if tea was stronger. Like that they offer Splenda as a sweetner compared to other substitutes. Usually ask for to-go tea and servers always provide that great option. Service: Service is always great and servers are attentive to our needs. Restaurant is large enough for small or larger groups. Restaurant offers open concepts which can get loud at times during their busy times. Restrooms could be larger and cleaner but usually try to use their complimentary hand sanitizer rather than go and wash my hands and use their facilities. I love this place, and I have been eating here ever since I was a kid. I always grab breakfast through their drive-thru and bring family with me for dinner or lunch dates. I saw some people complain about waiting for their food because while in line and others getting theirs before them. I know from experience that if you had called in your order before you get there, of course, your order would be ready before those who order when they got there. I haven't been in a while because of COVID, but I have had a pleasant experience with them overall. read more

Oh my god! This place is absolutely amazing, I honestly don't know why they only have 3 stars. The food is so delicious every time I eat here. I remember this place as a kid, 12 years later I decided to see if it was like I remember and they do not disappoint. The food is always great, they have awesome lunch specials, and fast service. Occasionally I work in Bastrop and my friend and I go here during lunch break. We can be seated, order, eat, pay and be back at the office with time to spare. Totally worth it! read more
