Service is always great (friendly & attentive, even when busy). Similar to Casa Chapala except happy hour on friday lasts an hour longer, margarita and floaters a tad better priced. The free/open salsa bar has several great salsas to choose from. They have some of the more popular items from Casa Chapala. Their Mexican food is excellent, upscale, but the place is casual and they often have karaoke. They have a great Sunday brunch buffet too. read more

We often go to the sister restaurant on the other side of Bastrop, so we stopped here to try it out. The service was okay, but the chips were stale and you get your own at a buffet bar where you can get different kinds of salsa. I ordered the fajita tacos with corn tortillas and they were superb! Flavor, portion sizing, everything was good. They also have cute photo ops for taking the perfect profile pic or with a group of friends! read more

We love the sister restaurant, Casa Chapala, so we figured we would give this place a try. It's inside Community Gardens where a previous sports bar and grill used to be. There are a lot of tvs playing sports and music playing, and they even have karaoke on Fridays. The service was subpar, but maybe they weren't fully staffed yet. The food was good and similar to their other restaurant, just lots of service mishaps and mistakes. I'd like to say we will come back, but my fiancé wasn't happy about the service either. read more

You can't go wrong with all day happy hour pricing and the stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp is cooked to perfection! Karaoke on Fridays is great for people watching, I just wish they'd turn it down a little bit. I know I know. But I literally have to scream at the person sitting next to me for them to hear me. read more

My wife and ordered the fajitas and they were Great with mushrooms, onions, orange and red bell peppers. The salsa was perfect, couldn't stop eating with the chips. We are very picky about Mexican food when we know what authentic Mexican taste like. Plus the service was just Great as the food. Norma our waitress was very attentive and friendly. This was our first visit to the new restaurant. I had the mole enchiladas. The mole was just so so. Definitely not up to my standard of the deep chocolate flavor I crave. The margarita was also just middle of the road. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. The plus size to the restaurant was that there was plenty of seating, the staff was attentive, and there was a walk up salsa bar. We will try it again since this was the first month they were open, but in this difficult location, they need to step up their game. read more

We came here on Mother's Day and boy were we sorry. The saxophone player was great and not directly in the restaurant but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking at the table. There were only 5 adults and one child at our table. But the service was poor beyond words. There were times we wanted to leave. We were there about 15 minutes before anyone came to the table. When the server came and took our drink order we also ordered guacamole. We never received it. The unsweetened iced tea tasted very old. We didn't receive napkins and flatware like every other table. In fact I eventually went up to the bartender and asked her for some and she said she'd tell our server. Ten minutes later still no flatware or napkins. Once our food arrived a person at our table received her plate of all the fajita condiments but no fajitas. After about seven minutes I got up to find the server since this person still had no fajitas, but didn't see our server. About two minutes later he showed up with the fajitas. The entire experience was horrible. Were they understaffed? Maybe. However we saw other tables, with different servers, arrive after us but receive their food before us. read more
