Jeans need in-person shopping for me rather online because I need to know the fit. I found a large section of jeans and the sizes were in a jumbled mess, with many of the size indicators on the hanger not matching the actual size of the jeans and forget about having the sizing be hung in smallest to largest order. After pouring through the racks I only found three size 3 pairs, which didn't give me much to choose from. When I entered the unattended fitting room, it was like entering a disaster area - each stall was littered with clothes. On the ground, on the hooks, on the seat - just chaos. The return rack was overflowing onto the ground. I found a pair of jeans that fit and went to go checkout and was surprised to find that the line leads you straight to a self checkout area of many stations, then much further back is a checkout with a single cashier standing there, looking away and avoiding eye contact. I rang up my jeans and when I left the alarm went off because apparently there was a security tag on my jeans. I brought it up to the woman behind the counter who motioned for me to a device where I could remove it myself. Shopping at this Kohl's was the most unjoyful experience imaginable; it was beyond depressing and I just can't fathom why Kohl's considers this business model to work. The store was like a ghost town with almost no shoppers anywhere, and it's no wonder.

And right on El Paseo! Well, done! It was my very first trip to this area and as fate would have it, I parked right in front of this store. Well, maybe it had more to do with my love of the color blue and daisies so the sign spoke to me, but call it what you will, I scored a spot out front and walked right in. As you enter there is a large oval table adorned with purses, wallets, and fashion jewelry like beaded bracelets, tassel necklaces and fun dangly earrings. The walls were lined with racks of on trend clothing of all types. Maxi dresses, subtle camo and leopard print athlesure wear, tunics, jeans, soft sweaters and even jumpsuits. Yep, this store speaks my language. Since it was the very first shop I stopped in, I gave it a thorough walk through and figured I'd hit up the other shops to see what was available, and come back for my must haves. I fell in love with a Stella McCartney look alike wallet and meant to purchase it, but by the end of the day I had to rush out to make my evening plans and never went back in. Later that night I went to their website, and although they sell some items online, the wallet wasn't one of them. I may call the shop next week and see if there is anyway they sell it to me over the oh one could mail it to me. Lesson learned. And this is exactly why my philosophy has always been, if you see something you love, don't hesitate, buy it! Especially when you are in a different state from where you live! The young lady working there was really sweet. She answered all of my questions and also let me browse at my leisure with no pressure. She made sure to point out the sale rack in the back of the store and their were a lot of great items there. Truly this is a great shop filled with lots of very pretty and fashionable clothing, whether you need basics, casual chic or dressy, you can find it here.

They have women's wear, home goods, small gifts and child's clothing. As I mentioned above they usually carry some cute clothing with logos of the cities around these parts. I missed out on getting a La Quinta shirt last time I was here and regretted it because it was so cute. When I came in today they had Palm Springs shirts and logos which are a perfect gift or just fun / casual to wear around if you are a local. This store is extra special as they support local artists and vendors. I bought a lovely candle today in this shop and it's from My Mijo Co which is local to the desert. Due to them being a small boutique and supporting local the items they sell here aren't necessarily "cheap" but well worth it in my opinion and again, they make the perfect gift and it's so much more unique and fun to find items where then some big retailer. You definitely get what you pay for and I'm happy to keep supporting them. The staff that work in here are very nice and welcoming. Always good vibes and sweet people.
