Stopped in on a Sunday on our way out of Denali. Wish we would've stopped in on our way in too. The chicken curry sandwich and salmon blt were phenomenal and the owner (who couldn't be nicer) threw in a slice of delicious banana cheesecake. We need to invent a word for "hidden gem times 1,000" because, that's what this place is! It's located in Cantwell, which makes Talkeetna look like Tokyo! There ain't nothin' there. I don't even think there is a single other place to eat. Having said that, the food here is so good, that would be noteworthy even in Anchorage! The food is all Jamaican-influenced takes on classic comfort and/or Mexican foods. It's awesome. The hardest part was deciding what to order because I pretty much wanted everything on the menu. I ended up opting for the Chicken and Waffles and it was a lovely take on such a hearty classic. The waffles were infused with cinnamon and the friend chicken had notes of jerk seasoning. The buttery maple syrup completed the the flavor bomb. I will definitely be back! This place is worth driving long distances for! Found an absolute gem of a spot when I was up to Denali for LDW. It's located in Cantwell right off the Parks Hwy! They are serving up some delicious sandwiches, salads, all day breakfast & fun apps like loaded fried & poutine. The owner is Jamaican so some of the dishes have Jamaican flavors infused into them. The owner was amazing to talk to & you can just tell he loves serving his delicious food. I will definitely be back to try the jerk chicken sandwich! Sadly he was out of some of the ingredients when I was visiting. I ordered the pork banh mi & it was packed with flavor. The pork was seasoned perfectly & the sandwich was loaded up with pickled veggies. I also ordered Jam's "frachos" from they appetizer selection. They loaded up with cheese sauce & pico de gallo. The portion on the fries was generous & they were crispy underneath the toppings. I took my food to go, but there was a decent amount of seating for dine in! If you're looking for a place to eat while up by Denali national park I highly recommend checking out Jam Jam's Spot for a satisfying flavor packed meal! Sadly there aren't many options up by Denali & with my favorite 229 Parks closed I'm always looking for some good with good flavor that's not super touristy. They will be open in the winter this season which again winter dining is extremely limited up in this area! read more

Definitely recommend making a stop at Jam Jam's Spot. I had the the Chipotle Chick sandwich with fries. Both were excellent and made to order. The chicken and the fries were crispy and seasoned well. I was hungry and failed to get pictures of the food, but the food pictures posted by other reviewers are accurate. The staff were welcoming. we walked in yesterday on our way to Denali national park. all we needed was a cup of coffee and a hot chocolate. as we walk in the worker was very nice. as soon as we order he becomes mad and arrogant. as we walk out. HE HITS THE TABLE SO HARD I JUMPED. today on our way back to anchorage we walk in again to get a coffee. he was very arrogant and mad again. as we wait for the coffee a family member leans down on the counter. and the worker ( shouts) at him "bro get off of my table". now remember the family member just leaned on the counter. maybe the exp is better if you buy the whole menu. but this was horrible. so if you just want to get a drink I DO NOT RECOMMEND. ( the coffee was good) but for an experience like that I would have rather not have one. also I am a nice person. always leaving nice reviews. but this needed to be shared. read more

Awesome place to stop for a bite to eat. We got the recommendation from our Airbnb. In-door and out-door seating. We ordered a Miss Piggy sandwich and 8 Hog Wings, two different flavors. Both items had a great amount of flavor and were very filling. The owner is extremely kind and personable. He asked us where we were from, what our plans were, offered some insight of the area and also let us know about the growing fires up north of Denali. He was also very personable to other customers that came in, offering food recommendations and such. We didn't catch the name of the female staff but she was also very sweet and personable. Delicious, giant sandwichs shop on the way to Denali. If you don't know it's there, you can easily pass it. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich fried, and it was delicious. My friend got the grilled version and he scarfed it down fast! They used a coleslaw with blue cheese bits to contrast the heat of the Buffalo sauce which was creative. It's much too messy to eat and drive, but there's ample outside seating to enjoy your lunch. I'll definitely make this a stop again next time I pass through! read more

For a really awesome breakfast/sandwich/salad spot... Best quality and tasting food we've been traveling around Alaska! Seriously!!! You must stop here. We ordered multiple items and every single thing was delicious and had the perfect balance of flavors. Meats were all tender and flavorful. Sorry, we scarfed down all of our entrees but managed to snap a picture of the melt-in-your-mouth donuts before those disappeared too. The owner and chef here knows what he is doing and takes pride in all that he offers. He said he was going to be turning this "spot" into a fine dining establishment soon - and his creative and top notch skills will definitely make it a success! **By the way, as of this date, if you click on the directions on Yelp, it takes you to a wrong location miles away. Definitely use Apple or Google maps to find this "spot." (There's currently a wooden sign by the highway that says Jam Jam's Spot.) There's a nice ambiance and seating to eat inside as well. On a quaint road rivaled by nothing within an eye's vision, Jam Jam's is hard to miss. Owner Jamelle, his crew, and the warm ambiance instantly welcomes you. This was quickly overshadowed, though, by the highlight of the experience--the food. It's impossible to understate just how strikingly good the food was. The jerk chicken sandwich with coleslaw and a side of fries was perhaps one of the greatest things I've ever put in my mouth. The $1 Alaskan glacier water perfectly complemented the meal.
