We ate lunch here while visiting Denali NP. It was ok. It was like your typical Subway, they had all the stuff you're used to. The only things about this that were different are that the prices were higher than we're used to and they seem to have a seating shortage. We barely were able to get a table. We got off the train which took us to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and we had to eat dinner somewhere. I saw that Subway was across the street so my husband and I went over I drove my scooter left it outside because they had a line going to the door. We ordered the footlong steak n cheese bought chips large drink and two cookies for later. They really piled on the toppings meat and veggies. These girls gave superior customer service got the lines down quickly. We ate inside on the tables and it tasted fresh n warm we had ours toasted. We were nice and full thanks to you your great team work. People think $19.99 for a footlong is high but when your from Hawaii we are used to high prices because if shipping from the mainland or should I say lower 48 states. Our family of 6 swung by today and got dinner and a show, and both were very good. You might not expect that with Subway, but I have to say the bread and ingredients tasted fresh and were generously provided. Our sandwich artist had A fun personality, and noticed the witty reparte between family. He joined in, and had us all laughing. He subtly did a few temperature checks, to gauge his audience and not go too far, and I can tell you by the end of it we really felt like we had dinner and a show. Best subway sandwich I ever had, and that's on taste alone. Add in the fun atmosphere, and this place is a winner. read more

Customer service was awful! 2 girls were working when I went! Neither one greeted the customers! The one that was standing in front of me across the counter kept on taking the bread out of the oven but didn't bother telling me that she will be right with me! Neither did the girl on the counter say a word! The line behind me kept on getting longer! I waited there 30 mins to get a subway! But did not here a single apology for the wait! OK yes I stopped here to grab breakfast and lunch for when the munchkin and I were mucking it up all over Denali National Park. It is the cheapest best bang for your buck in the area. Granted that isn't saying a lot. It is a typical average subway. Nothing special. The staff is your typical minimum wage crowd slugging through a workday slinging sandwiches. It tasted like every other subway that I have been to as well. I am sure you have been to one before too. The only difference with this location was that their prices were about 20-40% higher due to having to get the fixings here. This is a pretty remote part of the world. read more

Funny, all the big captive tour lodges across the street and the first thing half the tourists do when exiting the coaches is head across the street to Subway. This is not so much a testament as to how good this subway is (they are all the same), it is to how expensive, uninspired, boring, and repetitive the food in the lodge restaurants has become. read more

We traveled 2500 miles and what do we see? A Subway. Not my first choice, but it's open 24 hours. When you're done hiking and it's 3am and you're hungry, this place works. Food is exactly as any other Subway, so taste and freshness is familiar. You're gonna spend twice as much as would at home, but everything in Denali is expensive. Get over it. Like most people, we were tired of paying so much money for basic lunch and dinner. Knowing this is Alaska, but money is still money. Anyway, main reason of going here is to save a few bucks. The sandwiches are typical Subway as you really can't screw up the basic Subway. But the star is for the lack of service and respect for their customer. Not sure if they know what that is, or even care to. Total lack of service with borderline rudeness when you tell them how you want the sandwich to be customize to your own taste. It is like any other subway I've been to in the lower 48, staff was courteous and friendly, prices are higher, not due to the area (Denali), due to being in Alaska. Having been all over Alaska, I feel that the prices were spot on. Yes it's more than you pay back home, but it cost more to get stuff up here. This place sucks. I only went here because I'm not 21 yet and couldn't go eat at 49th State after a certain hour, and this was the only place open that I could eat at unfortunately. Staff has no pride in their work, and have no idea how to make a sandwich... I ordered a chicken bacon ranch, and not only did they screw it up by putting the rotisserie chicken on there when it was supposed to be the strips, they charged me MORE for the strips that were supposed to be on there in the first place, and they put virtually no meat on it (when I asked for double meat). Way overpriced, which I understand for the area, but for a $11-12 sandwich from Subway, I'd hope there's some meat on it. Also, the bathrooms are revolting. Our intention was to have dinner at our hotel, but we learned that a small fire the previous Saturday had TKO the restaurant. So Subway it was. This place was staffed by friendly foreign college/high school students on summer break which we though was real cool. As far as the foods, it tasted pretty much the same as all other Subways. Are you joking me? I don't care what anyone else says, this is a Subway that charges nearly $10 for a $5 footlong! And don't listen to what people say about uninspired restaurants in the area-- sure the lodges have crappy food, but I can think of 5 restaurants within a mile that are better than Subway. Including a great sandwich place with fresh deli sandwiches and coffee, a great bar and grill with delicious options like Halibut Tacos, and one of the best Pizza places I've been to. If you think that getting cheap food is the best option in Denali, don't go there. In fact, don't go anywhere near a tourist town in AK if you expect good prices. They ship it up. It's a seasonal town. Getting subway or McDonald's when you are so far from home, and so close to some amazing restaurants, is just, well, stupid. read more

We just spent some time in the shops at Denali Village and decided to grab a bite to eat. We walked into Subway and were ignored for the first few minutes. We were 2 of only 4 customers there. We were treated abruptly and discourteously. When I mentioned to the cashier that I felt the 3 workers were a little lacking in friendliness and customer service, he was unconcerned, shrugged and replied, "it's a hard job." Terrible! Not friendly, not helpful, not nice! I ordered a wrap. When it was folded, it was squeezed it into a short squatty ball that split open and became a ball of oozing mess. I stated my disapproval and concern about not being able to hold the oozing mess to eat it. Their response was, "they split". What a shame to just accept that you're expecting the product you sell to be a mess. I would recommend not visiting the Subway at Denali - there are better pre made sandwiches in the general stores. read more
