We went there. They only have one sales woman on Sundays (or that was the case this time anyway (7-19-20), so it took quite a while to check out and was a little awkward standing in that quiet of an environment with strangers for that long. Maybe play a little soft music or something? It will help you feel less nervous too, nice sales woman/owner(?) Now for the good things though- they had actually quality things, not just cheap, dime-a-dozen, cliche things, but actual DECENT things to look at, many were of high quality artmanship. So yes, very impressed with the variety of Mac-A-Bee's. It was refreshing. You also carried cheaper, decently priced things for people just looking for souvenirs which I did appreciate, so thank you. One last thing to note is that Mac-A-Bee's is a roomy store, you won't feel crowded at all when browsing, and that was refreshing too. Tiny stores are awkward.

The owner, an older lady, and her son, were FULL of Northern Exposure trivia and facts and the son was actually on a few episodes. This place is a MUST SEE if you're a fan of the show. If you are NOT a fan of the show, you might want to go elsewhere because there's nothing terribly unique about this place. BUT, if you want a licensed Northern Exposure t-shirt or hoodie or bumper sticker, this is your place. Note the "Joel Fleishman" is still painted on the front window glass. And Marilyn's office desk and chair are still here. Also, Joel's office is still here, though it's covered with a bunch of crap, posters, etc. so you have to really look for it. My only complaint, is that they need to focus on more Northern Exposure and Rosyln stuff and not sell anything else. People who go here are going to be going here because they are tourists either into local history (the mine, etc.) or Northern Exposure, so why not just cater to that exclusively.

They have a cool selection of books, and a lot of gift type things like tea, stuffed animals, bookmarks, art supplies, etc. I noticed the dinner menu and decided a cheeseburger sounded good. I ordered the Basecamp cheeseburger with bacon and a side salad. You can apparently order food upstairs and then sit upstairs or downstairs (or outside, I think). They have table service as well, after 4pm. Service was very friendly and patient. I decided to eat downstairs, and there was a cozy bar and large seating area. My burger soon arrived and it was delicious! A great toasted bun and a wonderfully substantial and beefy patty. The cheese was rich and gooey. Great, yummy combination of flavors. The salad was good too, with a nice ranch dressing on the side. A cool place that made me feel welcome and served up a great burger.

Also stuffed animals, a few cozy throws here and there. And $20 suncadia cups if you want a souvenirs! Or just get fresh squeezed orange juice and a latte. Same price range! Not cheap but it works if you are staying at the lodge and just want to come down for a drink or a snack. Without having to drive out of the entire property!
