food was delicious. had the stewed chicken. it came with rice and beans, plantains, and cabbage. it smelled amazing. it came out hot and delicious. it was a decent portion for the medium. i have enough food for some lunch leftovers. i also had a cream soda and banana chips. i will be returning and trying other things on the menu. also it tasted homemade. some comfort food away from home when you don't want to cook. i took it to go and brought it home to eat for dinner. i was stuffed afterwards. this is a hidden gem. i definitely recommend it. read more

Delicious, traditional Caribbean food..... I've loved jamaican food for a while.... having been part of a family with genuine roots. My son had oxtail and I had stewed chicken... rice, peas. .... I ate and had leftovers for next day. Tasty and freshly made. The young lady at cashier box was sweet and funny. The gent in back knows his stuff... that food was Supreme. Good place to take out meal for lunch/dinner. It comes with lots of rice, some veggies (mostly lettuce) and good amount of meat. The oxtail tastes really good, its soft and tender. The jerk chicken is not as good, it's little over cooked, the sauce makes it spicier. Tried the patties too, they are okay. Wish we lived closer so we could try more items on the menu. The popular dish everyone asked for was the jerk chicken which he ran out of by 3 PM on a Saturday. Extremely limited seating (like 2, many 3 chairs and 1 table). No public restroom. Free parking as it is in a strip mall. Get there early to claim the good stuff before he runs out. Would definitely venture back here again if I'm ever back in the area. I was in the mood for Jamaican food and stumbled across this spot. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and a nice man served me. I haven't had oxtail in a while so went with the small oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. It came to a little over $13 which was so reasonable. I paid and left. When I got home I dug in. The oxtail was tender and was ok in flavor, just needed a tad more seasoning. The rice and peas and cabbage was really good. I would definitely go back and try more. read more

Great spot recommended by a friend who lives nearby. Got lunch specials of jerk chicken ($6) and curry goat ($7) and they pack quite a bit into a small container. Both were very delicious but I wish the chicken was spicier. Also got a couple of beef patties and coco bread. All very good and the gentleman there was really nice. My daughter mentioned she heard good things about the food knowing that I am slways looking for a great plate of food. Well this is a gem tgat has been here for 23 years per the merchant. This is my favorite place to pick up Jamaican food when I'm in Jersey. The owner is always upbeat, friendly, and smiling - it's hard to be in a bad mood when you're at this restaurant. Some of the Yelp reviews mentioned having to wait in a line, but in the 6 years I've been getting food there, I've only had to wait one time behind 1 other person. If you have to wait, just do it. Having travelled extensively in the Caribbean, I have never had sauce on Jerk chicken as the spices are usually a component of marinade or dry rub. Jamaican Delight uses sauce. This place is a hidden gem! The rice and peas are just right. I ordered ackee and salt fish which brought me back to my childhood. My friend ordered jerk chicken and practically inhaled it. Open the patty and there are only remnants of meat so when I take it back he has the nerve to say "beef is expensive" ...are you serious right now??? I love me some Jerk Chicken and when I saw Jerk Chicken on the front window that looked like mom and pop -ish looking restaurant, I was expecting some authentic, favor-full, moist chicken. When I took a first bite, I was soooooo disappointed, I took it back it and told him that chicken was old and dry and in a very friendly tone, told him that your chicken has to be fresh if you want good business.
