Goat meat was so tough my fingers couldn't even break it apart! Hard as a rock! GOAT meat is supposed to melt and have fat. Rice was mushy sides were all bland. The macaroni was terrible just your generic Velveeta macaroni. We couldn't get through or try not to waste the food it was that bad. The meals in the photos costed me $43 down the drain.

It's been a while since I've been to this place. Had the jerk chicken, sides, wings, and turkey tips. All were very well seasoned and flavorful. Portions are good, and the service was friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

    Oxtails! My favorite

Solid option for jerk food! The staff is friendly and the food is tasty. The jerk salad is always a generous serving. A little heavy on the onion but good overall! Next time we'll order extra jerk sauce on the side! The Oxtails aren't terrible, yet not my favorite. It seems as if they don't sell out of the bulk, you'll get yesterdays left overs. I'd like to try them super fresh/just made. I'm appreciative that they have a large option of sides! Looking forward to exploring more of their menu.

Absolutely NOT! Don't waste your money! I read the comments and decided to still give them a chance. I wish I didn't. We didn't even eat this. A complete waste of money. I also ordered a beef Pattie and it was soft as if they reheated it or got it out the freezer section.

I order from here the other day. I had the oxtails OMG I was so disappointed they were so tough even the little pieces. The flavor was on point but I couldn't even chew it. The bread was rock hard I MEAN HARD. I know when they picked the slice up to put on the plate they could feel how hard it was. A complete waste of $35. To the cook maybe just maybe you should taste/check for tenderness. Because if this is what you guys are putting out then I completely understand the 3star rating.

I love this place and the customer service was superb. I love jerk chicken and they gave such an exceptional amount of food. I was stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey. The mac and cheese was great and cheesy just the way I enjoy it. They definitely put love into preparing their meals. If you've never been their, this girl from MA recommends it! Extremely good! Is you want some really good jerk chicken and some amazing of tails come to this spot! I used grub hub and Jamaican jerk king delivered like 40 mins ahead of schedule kudos to them because I was getting hungry and the Astro game was just about to start. Good: oxtails were so tender and full of flavor. Amazing stuff! The jerk chicken was just as good. If I had to chose between the two that would be hard Choice. So dam good!! The jerk chicken had so much flavor! The Mac and cheese was full of flavor as well. I really enjoyed the red beans and rice. Maybe add some sausage In there. The yams were good too. If you are craving good Caribbean soul food come tot his spot. They are 100 with it. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely try them again the next time in Chicago!

It was my first time and there will be many more times. Ordered food for delivery, it was still warm. Chicken was excellent great flavor, and it was juicy. Rice and bean were good and the Mac and cheese. The side jerk sauce is great, a little spicy for those with low tolerance, but very flavorful. Plenty of food for one person, maybe two depending on hunger level.

Visiting Chicago. The chicken was really really good! I mean amazing flavor! The rice and beans had good taste. The cabbage had a weird color; It was yellow. The woman ringing us up at the window had a nasty attitude! It's bad customer service to take your frustration out on people who are paying to eat there. We did nothing wrong. She also rang me up for more sauces than I asked. The attitude of the worker is why I rated a 3

Stop at McDonald's across the street afterwards, I hear the salads are back. Because this is not good and VERY SALTY. The cabbage was extremely salty with hard carrots. The oxtails were tough and the plantains were hard and dry. I ordered several meals. The mixed chicken was good, passable but this does not taste like any Jamaican I've EVER had or experienced, or ever want to experience again. I spent over $60 to be disappointed. Nothing Jamaican about it, including the staff on duty at the time. Yuck!

My fellow traveling house heads trusted my foodie instincts, but there was a little skepticism until our rideshare driver gave it his enthusiastic vote of confidence! Garifuna Flava is a Black-owned restaurant celebrating the rich flavors and traditions of Belizean, Caribbean, Latin, and Indigenous Garifuna cuisine. The restaurant isn't fancy, yet it is warm, welcoming, and one of the owners even took time to share the history of the Garifuna people with one of my friends. And making the experience even more authentic was the soundtrack of Caribbean and reggae music, which had us swaying, singing along, and feeling right at home like a spot in the Caribbean or Brooklyn. As for the food, it was DELISH! I enjoyed tender oxtails with yams, fried sweet plantains, rice, and stew beans. It was comfort food that tasted like a home-cooked meal. A nice cold Ting was the perfect pairing. I couldn't resist sampling a dining partner's shrimp dish, which was also flavorful. Garifuna Flava is located in Chicago Lawn, often referred to locally as Marquette Park on Chicago's Southwest Side. The neighborhood is home to the beautiful 323-acre Marquette Park, designed by the Olmsted Brothers (sons of the designer of Central Park), and holds an important place in the city's civil rights history. Thank you, Garifuna Flava, for a delicious meal and a cultural experience I'll remember. I'll definitely be back. But don't just take my word for it, go experience the yummyliciousness for yourself! Mmmm... #BonAppetit! Cheers!

Our server was quick and pleasant. He was refilling and offering new drinks before we even knew we needed them. Ambiance is fun at The Wild Hare. The live music in the back room int he evenings are definitely where it's at. I would recommend checking out the event calendar on their website to help pick which day you may want to come. My only complaint is that I really wish the DJ played more reggae in the restaurant. I expected to have a full reggae night, but all the way up until the live band, it was mostly hip hop and R&B with the occasional reggae throwback. Give us more; we came for the reggae vibes!
