Drove over 2.5 hrs to come get this food since we are foodies. We were greeted upon entering, and a kind gentleman did give us a sample of the chicken tips which were delicious. We all ordered about $100 worth of food only to sit at the table for 45 minutes with no updates or food. My husband asked what was taken so long, and they apologized saying they ran out of some of the food due to catering orders. Needless to say nobody updated us asking to s to change our orders or offered a discount, We paid for our liquor only, and got refunds on our meals. The jerk sauce was salty. Edible, but salty. The Caribbean cabbage was mushy and not terribly interesting. Corn on the cob was cooked to within an inch of its life. The third carrier notified me but instead of the restaurant waiting for me to give my reply of what I would like to replacement it, They just refunded that part of the order. I was craving for some jerk chicken, and I remembered this place by driving by a few times. Besides, I wanted to give my support to a new business in the neighborhood. The prices are ridiculously high for mediocre food. The so call mac and cheese tasted like it came right out of the Kraft box. Cheap and runny cheese, the cabbage was soggy. The food was all bad this time, I ordered wholes dark and got whole mixed. Mac and cheese was no good. Cabbage had very little flavor. Rice and beans was about nothing. Two of the pieces of chicken were obviously from an old batch, they were cold and hard. They forgot my cake, I had to come back to get it, and not a word, not an apology, nothing. Well I've passed by this restaurant and was curious if it was more authentic Jamaican but it seems much more modern American Jamaican. They were playing R&b music instead of rastafari Bob Marley music or classic reggae. It's not really a formal restaurant where you sit down and they give you a menu it's more like the menu is on top and then you order and you just wait for your food. I did try the rastafari pasta as a sampler with no meat it was okay it wasn't bad but I was in the mood for pasta in a Jamaican like restaurant. I would have assumed they would have had Jamaican jerk chicken but they have it as jerk wings not as a traditional Jamaican jerk chicken from Jamaica. Service was so so ok with the cashier giving the sample however she seemed to not care to explain their entrees in the menu board above them. I asked her about the size of the shrimp and she doesn't know for the shrimp jerk rice. If they're jumbo shrimp so they're just a little itty bitty shrimp otherwise I would have gotten the chicken which is traditional but decide to go with shellfish. I also ordered a pineapple ginger beverage which I'm not sure if she's going to serve it once they prepared and I also ordered fried banana plantain as a side which to me is a bit too expensive. I spent over $30. Service to deliver seems slow since I was dining in next to feeling ignored despite giving a tip. This is why I gave 3 stars yet people gave 4 stars well the moment came and I'm just surprised how they give me a Chinese paper carryout box even though it's a Jamaican restaurant. Next to giving soy sauce which is not even Jamaican. Tasting the rice and it's just a meh. I should have just gone to a carry on Chinese restaurant . The plantings were okay. This is one of my favorite jerk spots for the jerk Alfredo, it's made fresh and well seasoned. I've had jerk the Alfredo with chicken and shrimp. I recommend the chicken The shrimp was overcooked.
