He explained everything so clearly, and the procedure went so smoothly that my fears quickly eased. I never felt rushed or judged for being anxious, and that meant so much to me. His assistants were super friendly and explained the process to me and made sure I was comfortable. Everything was so quick, painless, and relaxing that I didn't even know I was at the dental office. If you're someone who struggles with dental anxiety like I do, this is the place to go. I left feeling cared for, respected, and genuinely grateful for such a positive experience.

I'd return in an instant if I ever needed to.

I spent many hours researching Education, training and references for Doctors in my general vicinity. Dr . Lee is another county from me, but to be totally honest, I realized that it was more than worth the drive. He is an expert at his work. His education is far superior than most and his work is beyond most anything I have seen. Besides being brilliant technically, he is kind, gentle and very pleasant to chat with. He explained in detail what he was going to be doing and made me feel completely at ease. I would recommend him to my own children and not have a single worry. He wanted to talk to me about dental implants for him. We left there as quickly as possible. A day later my husband was in great pain and had large thumb bruises on his cheek. He went back to have it checked. Dr Lee was angry and unsympathetic. Over the next week my husband had pieces of bone come out of his gums. Stay away from this oral surgeon. Stay away from this doctor if you are immunocompromised and need your doctor to wear a KN95 or N95…read moremask. I am immunocompromised so I cannot afford to catch COVID again. All my other doctors who I see in office are willing to wear an N95 mask for the short time I am with them in order to keep me safe. Not this doctor. I asked about his office protocols and requested, for safety purposes: masking in office, maintaining air flow, and letting me know if they had had any recent exposure to someone with COVID. Asking about precautions is especially important for chronically ill people in a dentist's office because it is not a medical setting in which we can protect ourselves the way we usually do--with our own masks--so a bit of extra caution is needed on the part of the dentist. Dr. Solow told me that they do wear masks in office. He did add in a thoughtful touch as well, which was that he could offer an N95 to any patients waiting in the waiting room while I was there. That was encouraging. He told me he could follow all the other requested precautions except informing me about Covid exposure since that's impossible to know (I had meant more a super obvious exposure to someone who has Covid, but yes, fair enough). I was set for my appointment in 3 days, which I had made 5 weeks ago. However, when I asked what masks they use, he told me they only use level 3 surgical masks, and would not be willing to swap one out for an N95 mask (the standard), despite the fact that they have them on hand in the office. He told me then I could cancel my appointment if I wanted. Level 3 surgical masks fit very loosely, have unreliable filtration and only protect against large particles, not aerosols, which is how COVID is spread. He told me that the N95 mask hurts to wear one with the surgical telescopes. It is disappointing that Dr. Solow is unwilling to adjust his usual protocols for a 30 minute appointment to help me feel safe. I had seen him once, before I became ill, and he was a very thorough and well spoken doctor. I had hoped to continue seeing him as my dentist. Considering how unwilling he was to make the most slight change to his mask protocols for the brief period of his day that I am in his dental chair, I have decided to move on. I do not believe it is too much to ask doctors to protect the lives of their patients. Do no harm means protecting immunocompromised patients, too. It shows a carelessness for my health, and a disregard for me simply as a person who wishes to not become further disabled. I do not want such a dynamic in a patient doctor relationship. As a sick person, this kind of interaction with a health professional makes you feel disposable. There are many dentists who wear N95s that I have already found today after canceling our appointment, to whom I will bring my business. One of the other dentists I spoke to today agreed that it was quite uncaring not to offer to do this for a patient. Sometimes you do small things for people that may seem like a slight inconvenience for you, but for them mean so much. In this instance, wearing an N95 for the doctor apparently hurts a bit, but for me, getting ill again could have grave consequences. This was clearly not of concern to Dr. Solow. Now I will have to establish care with a new dentist. If you are immunocompromised, chronically ill, and/or are a caretaker for someone who is, or if you're just plain Covid cautious, do not go to this doctor. Otherwise, he's a very good dentist.

For context, I was with Gabriella Garcia-Rojas's office for 20 years and left because her prices were getting too high, even though I trust her office and her staff and it was hard to leave. Dr. Leite came to me recommended by a close friend, and by and large, I found the transition easy to make. The problem arose when I had an issue with a bite that Dr. Leite's office must have done and unbeknownst to me, until I called my insurance provider, I realized the grinding of my tooth to fix the bite could have been covered by my insurance, but Dr. Leite chose another code that wasn't covered and almost $900 out of pocket. When I called the office to inquire, I was treated rudely and didn't get a call back right away, so I called again. Again, very rude. I asked why the fixing of my bite wasn't filed und insurance and the woman I spoke to said she would get back to me. I called a third time and this time, the woman was very rude and while she agreed to credit me for one tooth (not the other), even though I told her I was under the impression only one tooth was impacted by the bite, she did not clarify if that was true. Anyway, the next week I get a cancellation letter from Leite's office that they were dropping me. If you want to be overcharged, then I recommend this office. Very disappointed, as Dr. Leite himself never called me to problem solve, making me frustrated that I couldn't get the answers I needed and his receptionist was rude and not helpful in answering my questions. Clearly Dr. Leite is okay with is patients being treated rudely. He also doesn't accept any questions about billing/treatment when it is unclear.

Dr. Smith was very nice as well and he obviously knows his specialty very well, including jaw structure. He's generous with his time and I appreciate the 2-step approach i.e. physical exam them, then a review of all of the info collected before meeting again (includddbin the initial exam fee), so he can share a treatment plan. I'm in my late 60's with a mouth full of crowns and fillings so there's a ton of work I "could" do to make everything "peffect" but I never felt pressured or pushed to "buy". I did a lot of research into Bio/Holistic dentists in Marin/Petaluma and near my home in Roseville/Auburn and chose to drive 4.5 hours RT to see him, and I'm very satisfied with my decision!

However, my most recent visit on December 30th raised some concerns I feel are worth sharing. When I arrived, my hygienist Whitney informed me that a 3D X-ray had been recommended. I believed I had already had one done, and after some investigation -- which required bringing in additional staff -- it was confirmed that the images existed in my records but had not been properly documented or billed. Whitney and Dr. Nguyen was thorough and professional in verifying that the images were indeed mine before proceeding with my exam and cleaning. What I found troubling was what happened at checkout. Without any acknowledgment of the administrative error on their end, the front desk requested an unexpected $500 payment for the X-ray on top of the $300 for my visit. When there is an oversight in record-keeping and billing, patients deserve transparency and a degree of grace -- not an abrupt demand for a large sum they weren't prepared for. I asked to go home and review my own records before paying, which I feel was a reasonable request. I'd also gently note that the front desk experience has consistently lacked warmth. A simple greeting and eye contact go a long way in making patients feel welcome, especially when visiting the dentist can already feel stressful. I hope the practice will consider some customer service training for front desk staff. The clinical team is genuinely skilled -- the patient experience as a whole deserves to match that standard.
