After Dr. Boone x-rayed my knee, he determined that the swelling was due to the uneven wear of the original plastic spacer, in my knee which he indicated needed to be replaced. Dr. recommended that a MRI be performed so he could "study" what the best options were. After Dr. Boone presented the options, he recommended that the plastic spacer in the original knee replacement be surgically removed and replaced as well as the removal of 3 cysts around the knee joint. The surgery performed required opening up my knee just like in the original knee placement procedure to have access to the knee prosthesis and the plastic spacer. The surgery results were excellent. Ten (10) days after the surgery, I was able to return to my Bike Spinning Classes. Dr. Boone is an outstanding Orthopedic Surgeon. I give him my highest recommendation. Lynn Caldwell 12/2017

I have had more pain and problems since my replacement despite his promise that "in 6 months you won't even know you had a hip replacement." I am reminded at nearly every moment of the day STILL that I had a hip replacement. He claimed my replacement was such a perfect fit that it appeared to be "made for me" exactly. He sent me down the referral gauntlet, I've had countless injections, my liver is now in crisis from the medications I have taken to try to relieve my pain, no Drs will touch his work because "he's the best of the best," it has literally been one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I'd gone for the hip replacement because I had dysplasia, lots of arthritis, and it was locking up on me trying to carry my infant daughter down the stairs and I was terrified I'd fall with her. I had gotten the surgery hoping I'd be able to be a more active mother, but it had the opposite effect. It has taken such a toll on my mental, emotional and physical health. He only looked at an xray and spent 10 minutes with me at my consult before he decided I was "a perfect candidate for a Total Hip Replacement." I trusted him because of his reputation. With the research I've done since, I believe he should have NEVER considered putting my body through the procedure considering I was breastfeeding (up until I was wheeled to the Operating Room) AND the fact that women's bodies, especially the hip area need time to recover from Childbirth...the ligaments and structure need time to heal. I believe this is malpractice, greed and carelessness on Dr. Boone's part. I caution anyone, especially women from letting him or his robot operate on you. I think I was one of 7 robotic replacements he performed that day. It took me 3 days to leave the hospital and I was in incredible pain.

I had an incident in January where the palm of my hand received a blow directly on the injured area, causing significant swelling and excruciating pain for months. I saw Dr. Guyette in March. He ordered two X-rays, saw some joint spacing, and diagnosed it as arthritis -- despite my telling him directly that the pain was sharp and burning, not what I'd expect from arthritis. He refused to order any further imaging and only offered a cortisone shot. He did prescribe a brace and Voltaren, which helped with the swelling, but never addressed my actual concern. I sought a second opinion elsewhere, where an MRI was finally ordered. It revealed a ganglion cyst -- a completely different diagnosis that X-rays alone couldn't catch. I felt dismissed when I tried to advocate for myself about my own symptoms, and I'm frustrated and disappointed that it took a second doctor and proper imaging to find the real problem.

This is my full update review (I have removed my prior). TL;DR at bottom…read more I saw Doctor Chimes around one year ago for intense hip and back pain. Right away, it was clear he cares more about his personal time than his patients. He told me he wanted yes or no answers and not explanations to his questions (and wouldn't really let me explain things in full even when it would clarify things). After my MRI, which showed multiple spinal issues (bulging, herniated, parse defect, which is a fracture) and bursitis in the hip, he gave me a shot for the bursitis that had already begun healing on its own. During this time, I continually try to tell him the pain is not in the location of the bursitis anymore. He continually ignores or even speaks over me. At the end, I am again trying to tell him I feel pain elsewhere in my hip even though there is a little reduction after the shot (but I was numbed, so of course it would hurt less). To test my pain, he had me stand up from my chair...once. Worse, when we were done and I was alone in the room, when I tried to get up to put my pants on, the pain was so intense I collapsed. This pain happened again when I got home and tried to take one step up the stairs. During our last appointment, instead of listening to me, he tells me "Your pain doesn't match the MRI", and that tells me I'm about to be dismissed, but then it got worse. He continues with, "In his professional opinion, you just need internal pelvic floor PT". Why? Because I'm a woman...and he asked me 2 or 3 YES or NO questions around sex and did not let me explain the answers... I told him I didn't think so, but he disagreed. Well, after speaking with a Pelvic Floor specialist, she disagreed with his assessment. So, instead of doing that, I went to Evergreen Sports and Spine and met with a new doctor who actually took my pain seriously. With his help and a new PT, another MRI of my hip WITH contrast (he was surprised that Dr. Chimes didn't order contrast as it's needed for specific tears in the hip), we found that I had a CAM Morphology, that should have been showing up on my other X-rays and MRIs, but apparently weren't spotted and/or reported...and that I had a tear in the Labrum of my right hip. Later, they also found I had a small pincer as well. So, a double impingement. I had to have surgery because the surgeon I spoke with next agreed that the tear was too large to not do surgery if I wanted to not be in pain. No arguing. No trying to talk me out of it. They immediately agreed it was the best course of action. I had surgery April 2nd of 2024 to remove my CAM and the Pincer they found, and then repair the labrum. While I'm still in recovery, my pain is down 80% of the time outside of flareups when I over exercise during my strength training. I would never send a woman to him, as she will be dismissed. I was in so much pain that I was crying after collapsing at the office during my last visit. The only reason I am giving this location a 2-star is because the women at the front were incredibly nice. This review is leaving out a lot of other smaller issues I had during my short time there. Maybe if you're a man, it'll be worth it, but if you're a woman, go elsewhere. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this office or Dr. Chimes. TL;DR, Dr. Chimes ignored what I said and then gave a sexist course of action due to my gender. New doctor 2 months later discovered the issue and that I needed hip surgery to remove two bone defects and a tear in my labrum. I have now had surgery and am doing well in recovery with a large reduction in pain.

I don't recommend Dr. Chi…read more As a petite woman, I weigh 92 pounds and stand at 4 feet 10 inches tall. My shoe size is 5. Dr. Chi performed toe fusion on me, but the screw he placed was far too big for my foot. My big toe didn't heal properly, causing me constant pain and I was unable to walk properly because the head of the screw was right below my skin at the front of my toe. He did not inform me ahead of time the size of the screw, and if he had, I would have chosen another option or doctor. For ten months after Dr. Chi's surgery, I was in constant pain and had difficulty walking. The bones were not healing. I asked him about other bone healing options and stem cell treatment, but he dismissed those. He told me unrelated scare stories, and told me he would do another surgery instead to take the pin out, perform a bone graft to fix the issue, then replace the pin. He also told me he didn't support the bone healing machine, that he didn't believe that stem cell treatment is a viable option. Instead he pushed another surgery or agreed to PRP treatment, which I have since discovered only works on tendons and ligaments, not bones. I switched doctors, and ended up having stem cell treatment, and that healed the bone. Then I had another surgery to remove the screw, using an extensive bone graft to fill the hole. More time, and lots more money to correct the surgery done by Dr Chi.

My most recent experiences, however, show a complete lack of professionalism. My CT scans from a month ago have not been reviewed, and multiple calls to my surgeon have been ignored. Dr. Basamania has enjoyed a stellar reputation but I think his recent performance is subpar. I have been living with pain and a completely useless left shoulder since his revision surgery nine months ago. I understand that my situation might be complex, but to simply not respond to a patient is unconscionable.

I consulted with Dr. Clatyon Brandes in 2002 for a second opinion on a broken ankle, in 2015 for a…read morebroken toe, and in 2024 for yet another broken toe plus jammed joint. I had 3 great experiences. He was in a good mood each and every single time. Just this week at the new Proliance building in Bellevue, he did an amazing job showing me my X-Ray and drawing little doodles over it to explain what is going on, and what my surgical options are. These last two visits he offered surgical options, but recommended against them as my case was borderline, and he clearly stated that orthopedic surgery is as invasive and painful as it gets. I don't remember my older visits well, but this week I had no problems with the office experience, or his staff, in fact I didn't even have to wait long. I've seen some ridiculous reviews left by other parties here and take offense. Let's be clear, surgery is a last resort and the major insult to the body in itself. Of course having a plate or screw drilled into your bone is going to hurt forever. Dr. Brandes didn't shatter your ankle into a thousand pieces, that was you. A lot of the reviews appear to be from Narcotics seeking patients, which is odd and doesn't match up with my experience. He immediately prescribed me some Vicodin in 2015 when he was main specialist on a badly broken toe that had 8/10 pain. I understand that there IS a legitimate pain management crisis going on in Washington State. I've heard, and experienced, other doctors who will throw you under the bus and leave you gasping in pain with broken bones poking out of your skin or severe nerve damage... But you can thank Governor Jay Inslee for that. About 10 years ago he ordered his Health Department to shut down Seattle Pain Centers on false pretenses, and then begin hunting down other doctors who prescribe pain medicine and take their medical licenses. That's where the problem started, with our governor's kneejerk and misguided reaction to the Heroin and Fentanyl crisis that sprang up under his watch.

I had an achilles tendon surgery by Dr. Clayton Brandes (full rupture). If I could do it all over…read moreagain I would pick a different surgeon. I had complications after the surgery lasting years, and after a couple follow up with Dr. Brandes he just told me to go away (in so many words). Another doctor with Proliance eventually was able to improve my condition, so I know that there was something Dr. Brandes could have done for me, but for whatever reason was unwilling to even consider. I have one good friend who also had a surgery from him (ankle) and she had a very similar experience, and wouldn't choose Dr. Brandes either, if she could do it all over again. Do your research, you don't get a second chance to have a surgery done right the first time.
