Overall, I'm okay with my results. I certainly wasn't expecting perfection and understand that no surgical result will be perfect. I'm sharing these details simply to be transparent about my experience and results: my areolas are not aligned or nearly the same size (also had an issue with tape being left on too long & damaging my skin), one breast is noticeably larger than the other, & they did not take my side boob fat. My biggest advice if you choose this place: GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING and be very specific about exactly what areas are being treated. During my consultation, Dr. Kalaria and I discussed my side boob fat. She physically pointed to/touched the area while discussing what would be addressed. As a patient with no plastic surgery expertise, I didn't know this was technically considered a separate area from the breast that needed to be separately listed and priced. I had a similar issue with the abdominal liposuction. It was not made clear to me that only a specific portion of my abdomen would be liposuctioned. I understood I was having ab liposuction with my tummy tuck and didn't realize other areas of my abdomen were excluded. These distinctions may be obvious to a plastic surgeon, but they aren't obvious to a patient. I was very upfront that I was relying on the professionals to educate and guide me rather than trying to become an expert in plastic surgery myself. I'm a lawyer, and just as my clients rely on me to explain things they wouldn't necessarily know to ask about, I relied on my surgeon to do the same. Unfortunately, my quote was not detailed. Even the muscle repair we had discussed wasn't specifically listed, so I asked and was told it was included. I therefore assumed the side breast/underarm area we discussed was similarly part of my breast work and didn't understand that "abdominal liposuction" referred only to a limited area. Had these distinctions been clearly explained, I could have made an informed decision about adding and paying for the additional areas. Even assuming, for the sake of argument, that the side boob area had not been specifically discussed, it should have been brought to my attention as a suggested area to address. It is immediately adjacent to my boobs that we discussed being worked on and was something I definitely wanted treated (I think most ppl would). I relied on my surgeon not only to answer questions I knew to ask, but also to flag relevant considerations I might not know enough to ask about. Had I been told, "That area is separate and requires additional liposuction," I would have made clear that I wanted it included. What bothered me most was how the issue was handled afterward. When I asked about the area post-op, I was told it was considered the underarm, not the breast. I later emailed after reviewing my notes, and the response was essentially that we had never discussed the area and I hadn't paid for it. Again, the money wasn't the issue. My concern was being told the conversation hadn't happened when my notes reflected that it had. Even if the office had no record of the discussion, I would have appreciated something as simple as, "We don't have this documented, but we're sorry there was a misunderstanding." Instead, I felt my recollection was being dismissed, which ultimately damaged my trust in the practice. I also found that some questions toward the end of the process or after surgery were met with responses along the lines of, "We're not at that point yet; I'll explain it later." As a patient, I don't know what I don't know. If I'm asking a question about my surgery, recovery, or results, I want it explained, even if it won't become relevant until later. To be fair, there were things I genuinely liked about Dr. Kalaria. I wasn't looking for the cheapest surgeon; I wanted someone knowledgeable, trustworthy, and safety-conscious. One reason I chose her was because she would NOT perform back liposuction at the same time as my other procedures because she felt the surgery would be too long and unsafe. I respected that tremendously and it gave me confidence in her judgment. Ultimately, my experience reinforced the importance of doing your own research and documenting EVERYTHING you discuss. Don't assume that because an area was discussed or a procedure is described generally that you know exactly what will be treated. Ask specifically what areas are included and excluded, and confirm important discussions in writing. I had actually planned to return to Dr. Kalaria for additional work. Unfortunately, based on my overall experience, particularly how my concerns were handled afterward, I no longer feel comfortable doing so.

I was referred to Dr. Solomon a while back because I needed a hernia operation after an ultrasound confirmed that I had a hernia that needed to be repaired. My initial appointment with him went about as expected. He seemed a bit arrogant at first glance, and "all about the facts", but oddly devoid of compassion - which didn't mean much to me at the time, but I wish I had given heed to these warning signs at the very beginning! He examined me and said I believe you need to have your hernia operated on, and I agreed with him so we set up the surgery. It is also worth mentioning that I never saw him without medical students following him around, whether it was in his office or in the hospital for surgery - like he was holding court to show how important he is. My surgery was initially scheduled for 10:00 am and they ask you to come in 2 hours early to do paperwork and prep. The day before my surgery I got a call from his office. They said he had something clear off his schedule and asked if I was able to move my surgery 2 hours earlier at 8:00 am. I was fasting and knew that I would be getting hungry sooner than later so I was happy to get it over with earlier. The next day I came in at 6:00 am to get started. (Here is what other negative reviews have mentioned) I did my paperwork which went fast and they put me in a gown and took me to the pre-op area around 6:45 am...where I waited for hours because Dr. Solomon was nowhere to be found! They called him every hour and he didn't even pick up. Finally at 11:00 am he answered when the hospital called him and said he would be there as soon as he could. I was looking back at my paperwork and I checked in to the hospital at 6:00 am, and was given my pre-op antibiotics at 11:00 am when they actually talked to him and he confirmed that he was on his way in. I proceeded to wait another 3 hours until 2:00 pm when he finally strolled in, with a student by his side and when I asked why he was so late he arrogantly smirked and simply said he wasn't able to make it. Instead of having me come in 2 hours early, I wish they would have called and said he wouldn't be able to do my surgery until 2:00 pm. It was almost as if he purposely made me suffer longer, and then he was extremely smug about it. So from the time I got to the hospital till the time Dr. Solomon got there to do the surgery was 8 HOURS!!!!! - Absolutely inexcusable!! Normally in a situation like this I would have blown a gasket and raised a huge stink, but because it was just before my surgery, I didn't want to upset him or make him angry before he was about to do a major operation on me so I let it go. But I need to emphasize how hungry I was by this time, having not eaten anything since 6:00 pm the night before - not to mention having been in a hospital gown on an uncomfortable pre-op bed in a brightly lit area with other people for 8 hours. I have had many friends who had hernia surgery and every single one of them has emphasized how much pain they were in after the surgery and truly needed strong pain meds to get them through the first few days (which is understood to be a normal part of this particular surgery). After the surgery, Dr. Solomon told me and my girlfriend that he would not be giving me pain medication but that I should alternate taking 4 Tylenols and in 4 hours take 4 Ibuprofens, and that would be enough for the pain - so I did that for a couple of rounds until I woke up in the middle of the night writhing in pain and couldn't stand it, so I called the emergency on-call number and spoke to a doctor who said he would get me some pain medication. A few minutes later Dr. Solomon called me and tried to gaslight me saying that I shouldn't be in that much pain, but that he would send in a prescription for Tylenol 3 - which turns out is not much stronger that 4 Tylenols, at least for me. When I asked for something stronger he mentioned that he didn't do stronger things due to the addiction factor - At least give me a few days worth to get me through this incredible pain that you know I'm having doctor! - and understandably so with this particular operation!! It felt like he honestly wanted me to be in pain!! Again, it seems that Dr. Solomon revels in causing more pain to his patients than comforting and healing them! In conclusion, this was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. I can't remember being in more pain in my life. And the whole incident of being left waiting for 8 hours is just inexcusable! Especially since he had me come in 2 hours earlier. I have never had a doctor gaslight me into backing off and stay in pain. WTF!!!?? I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy! Do yourself a favor and dodge this bullet!!

I was 7 months pregnant at the time and couldn't support my son the way he needed - and they stepped up. Recently, I had to go to the emergency room for myself and had the most amazing doctor. He actually took the time to talk with me like a person. I told him I had autism and that I was struggling to communicate. So he slowed down to make sure I got the support I needed. Even their security guard was super kind. He noticed I was wavering on my feet and got me a chair. We talked about tattoos until they called me in, which really helped my nervous system. And the nurse was really kind, with amazing shimmering shoes lol. We joked that I was taking shots since all my medication was liquid. This is where I go for any emergency needs my family has, and it has stepped up every time.

Emergency Room Experience -- September 15, 2026, Approximately 4:30-8:03 p.m…read more *This complaint concerns only our emergency-room experience. All our other experiences at Torrance Memorial have been excellent, 5-star experiences. Times are approximate because of the stress of the situation. *A PA at the neighboring urgent care instructed us to take my wife to the emergency room because her oxygen saturation had fluctuated between 69% and 75% during the previous 24 hours. We followed that instruction immediately, checked in, and completed triage. *Her oxygen level reached 99% (allegedly) during triage but later dropped to 85%. I carry my own pulse oximeter because of my medical history, including CABG surgery. *We waited approximately three hours. During that time, I personally observed approximately 30 other patients arrive and leave or be taken ahead of my wife. I asked the clerk for a copy of my wife's triage report so I could understand whether her condition had been classified as less urgent. The clerk and male triage nurse 'refused' to provide the results and did not give us a clear explanation for the delay or refusal! * I understand that emergency-room patients are treated according to medical urgency rather than strictly by arrival time. However, the clerk told me the other patients that arrived AFTER us were "not that bad with their symptoms" and therefore were seen first. I recorded that statement and found it confusing and inconsistent with the explanation that patients are prioritized according to medical urgency. *My wife and I are Black. During our wait, we observed that nearly all of the patients taken ahead of her appeared to be white. This is my firsthand observation, not a conclusion about the reason for the treatment we received. However, because staff did not provide a clear or consistent explanation, I am concerned that race may have influenced how we were treated. *At approximately 8:03 p.m., we left without my wife receiving treatment. *About ten minutes later, someone from the hospital called us and provided an explanation that I found unclear and unhelpful. I am requesting clarification regarding that call and why my wife had not been seen before we left. The charge nurse later told me that her friend, and possibly other patients, had been advised to wait outside to reduce COVID-19 exposure. We were never offered that option and saw no sign explaining it. If senior citizen patients were permitted or encouraged to wait outside, that information should have been clearly posted and communicated consistently. Instead, we remained in a crowded emergency room for hours without knowing that waiting elsewhere might have been allowed. The nurses could barely be heard 'inside' the lobby. We also question why we were charged, or may be charged, several hundred dollars for an emergency-room visit that urgent care said was necessary, even though my wife left without receiving treatment. We request: 1. A review of my wife's triage classification and the order in which patients were seen. 2. An explanation of why approximately 30 patients were taken ahead of her. 3. Confirmation that the order of treatment complied with hospital triage policies. 4. An explanation of why we were not provided her triage results or a clear explanation for the delay. 5. An investigation into whether race or inconsistent procedures affected our treatment. 6. Confirmation of whether patients could wait outside and how that option was communicated. 7.
