Are they trust worthy and do they over charge compared to market value? Well we have been shopping around for our daughters first car and her dream vehicle happened to be at Hamsmith Auto! A new Ford Bronco!! I can say that Hamsmith Auto Group went above and beyond my expectations and got us in my daughters dream vehicle for a very fair price! I know because we have searched online and pretty much everywhere for a Bronco! If you're like us when you walk around most dealerships, you dread that salesman speed walking towards you because at that moment you're just there to look and not be hassled! At Hamsmith's dealership it was so different, the owner approached us like a next door neighbor inviting you to a barbecue! They do have sales guys but they all put out that same vibe!! Very chill!! There is another big dealership here in Lubbock that if it weren't for one sales guy that I've bought from multiple times, I wouldn't go there ever because they have 10 salesman you have to walk thru to get inside and all starring me and my wife down like a pack of wild dogs! Anyways long story short, Hamsmith Auto Group just became a new favorite!!

WILL NEVER GIVE THIS DEALERSHIP MY BUSINESS and will urge my associates not to either…read more Its always ironic that life throws out little tests for you. Sometimes you pass, sometimes you fail, but it should always be a lesson to be better. To the moral of this statement.... I was in the market for a newer car, since my current car was about 10 years old, and I felt I deserved an upgrade. I searched around and found a few SUV's that I liked and went on the main Gene Messer website, which paired me with a salesman at their toyota location and we got in touch via email and text. I looked over their inventory and did not see anything I liked but saw one at one of their Sister Dealerships and the salesman told me "If there is a car/truck we have that you want, I can get it." I believed him. So I asked him to try to get that vehicle and I would come in for a test drive. Since this convo happened late Saturday, he said he would call the Sister dealership on Monday morning and have them bring the truck over. Monday comes.....he says he is working on it, but tells me to just come on out anyways and it should be handled by the time I get there. I figured it could not hurt, since I was already in that area, so I go. He sits with me for a few minutes, we make small talk and he keeps trying to show me other vehicles. I turn those down. He proceeds to tell me everything that is bad about my trade in and then gives me a low ball offer. I was not even concerned about my trade in because I had a large down payment. But then tells me the truck I wanted already sold. OK. So I get my keys and leave. I head to another dealership, where they not only give me 2500 more on my trade in, but also found another of the truck wanted with no issue. That salesman did his job and called around until he found it for me. Insanely enough, the original truck I wanted DID NOT ACTUALLY SELL. I had a friend call the dealership where it was and they said they still had it, and asked if my friend wanted to come in for a test drive that day. Nice, so my original salesman lied to my face, clearly did not want to work that day, and basically lost about $80,000+ in sales. How is that you ask? Well, I was seeing how my personal transaction would go, and if I came out happy, I would buy a fleet of about 4 or 5 trucks and a van for my company. Nice one Gene Messer Toyota. So, looks like they failed this test, and lost a potential repeat customer.

Initially, I had doubts about the dealership's customer service and was considering out-of-town options. However, giving Frontier another try turned out to be a good choice. It's evident that the team has significantly improved their customer service. Our salesman, Gabe, was great, and I also want to thank Thadius, Richard, Alex, and John, the General Manager, for their professionalism and follow-through. They worked to source the exact truck I wanted, kept me informed, and made the process smooth, transparent, and enjoyable. Because of their efforts and renewed focus on the customer experience, I would confidently recommend Frontier Dodge to anyone shopping for a new vehicle.

The biggest issue has been the lack of communication and customer service. I have repeatedly reached out regarding concerns with my trade-in payoff and financing, left messages, sent emails, and even submitted a contact request through the dealership's website. Despite multiple attempts to get assistance, no one from management has contacted me to address my concerns or provide meaningful updates. Adding to my frustration, we specifically inquired about getting a spray-in bed liner installed and scheduled an appointment based on those discussions. However, when we arrived for the appointment, they acted as though no one knew what we were talking about. We then learned that the dealership had failed to inform us that the bed liner installation would actually be handled by a third-party vendor. This lack of communication resulted in wasted time and unnecessary frustration that could have easily been avoided. While I understand that delays and mistakes can happen, the recurring theme throughout this experience has been poor communication, lack of follow-through, and an apparent lack of concern for the customer experience. Instead of proactively providing updates or solutions, I have had to continually chase down answers myself. At this point, I feel my concerns have not been taken seriously, and what should have been an exciting vehicle purchase has turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. Based on the customer service I received, I cannot recommend this dealership and hope they take steps to improve communication, accountability, and customer care.

After…read moreliving outside of Lubbock for over 15 years, for the most part in much bigger cities, I have grown quite accustomed to curling up in a ball and taking a beating mentally when gearing up to pay mechanics for work done on my vehicles. My heart sunk when I called a local mechanic shop that I grew up familiar with in Lubbock when they informed me that I would have to take my issue to the Honda dealership to get this specific issue resolved. The dealership?!?! I promptly went to my budget to see where the thousand dollar car repair I had in mind fit in. My phone call to Frank Brown started to put me at ease. Rather than hemming and hawing about what expensive services they likely needed to do to check things out and resolve the issue, based upon my layman's term description of what was going on, the customer service technician knew immediately what the issue was, was clear and to the point on what neded to be done and the likely cost and invited me to come take care of it. The team at Frank Brown is friendly and they work fast and effectively. The shuttle to and from work makes this a convenient task. Not only did I get them to resolve my issue, but they replaced my oil and windshield wipers and got me hooked up on my inspection report - a nice one-stop shop place to go. The real reason I am giving them five stars though, is that they put to rest my long-held notion that dealerships are not affordable alternatives. The oil change was on par with the oil change places in town and the issue I thought was going to be expensive was way less than I would have experienced in other parts of the country I have lived. The labor charges seemed far less than other places that I have seen. Finally, they ran an Airbag diagnostics due to an indicator that I had on free of charge.

I bought a car from here a while ago after doing extensive research on a specific car in their lot…read more I was promised several things that never came to fruition. I was told that several maintenance items have definitely been done and was told I would receive proof but then after asking for absolutely any kind of proof during signing the salesman fumbled and got very upset that I asked for proof, they said they did the work but could not prove it. I asked about items that I knew were due (timing belt after 7 years) and the salesman continued to confirm with me that it was after 10 years even after I asked several times saying I researched it online and viewing the suggested maintenance in the handbook for the vehicle. I also had an additional salesman come in later in the negotiation for the vehicle asking what it would take for me to sign for the vehicle then and after I bit of thinking I came back with a number that I could reasonably afford and they were upset that I I would counter their offer. They have just as much ability to just say no to my offer as I do theirs so there is no reason for them to lose their temper or make any insults towards me or my previous vehicle. They might have quality vehicles but I can not say the same for the people so just be sure to do your own research and trust very little of what they say because at the end of the day they do not care about you as much as they do your commission. Finally my last complaint is with the service department which I'm not completely is warranted. Online it is highly suggested to have an entire kit done for the timing belt whereas after asking their technicians it was suggested to only get the timing belt and nothing else looked at. I feel like this is a pretty risky option especially since something like a water pump costs an extra 100$ and could be changed easily during a timing belt replacement and is typically suggested. I just suggest being careful and looking at other options before committing to a business that is intending on you returning as soon as possible.

    * Charged for Repairs, But the Problem Still Remains…read more My car has been in the shop for a few weeks now. I brought it in because it was jerking during acceleration, and I suspected it could be related to the engine or transmission. The issue started after a long road trip, before anyone had serviced the vehicle. There were no warning lights or check engine indicators at the time. Before coming to this dealership, I paid for diagnostics at two others. One recommended replacing all six spark plugs and the battery, which I did--but the jerking continued. Since my car is covered under an extended warranty, I was advised to bring it to this dealership specifically for that reason. I was already anticipating a runaround, but moved forward based on the warranty coverage. At Gene Messer, they diagnosed a loose gasket in the intake manifold, which was leaking air and assumed to be the cause of the jerking. They replaced the entire manifold for $1,382.48, including parts and labor. Despite that, the jerking persisted. They told me the intake manifold was installed and passed an initial test drive. But when their service manager drove it again the next day, he noticed a slight shutter. Now, their shop foreman and transmission technician are recommending a transmission fluid exchange, costing $348.06 before tax. They claim I'll need to drive 400 to 700 miles after the fluid exchange before the fix takes full effect. If the issue continues, I'll have to return again for further evaluation. Throughout this process, they've repeatedly pushed me to apply for Sunbit financing and have added costs and repairs without resolving the core issue. I'll Add more to this review. plan to expand on this review and share my experience across other platforms to help future customers make informed decisions about this shop. * Service Completed, Issue Unresolved
