I have been in town for nearly 3 years,. I take very good care of an older Honda I have with a Vtec motor,. each time I would go to this dealership it would be one let down after another strictly speaking Service here - often I am dissatisfied with the level of service and detail- often a Technician will override a most obvious issue with a job and discount my complaint stating an "alternative truth" I won't go into specifics here because I have had service done here a few times in the past 3 years and all in all I would say its the worst Honda Dealership for Service I have seen in the country, and I travel a lot. If I could give the service department zero stars, I would. They are crooks! I had an aftermarket air conditioning compressor installed for $2000 because a Honda compressor was not available, and told it was under warranty for one year. Even though it does not work from day one, they refuse to fix it without charging me another $1000! Save yourself the hassle and take your Honda someplace else. read more

Drove my pickup into the Honda service bay. Spoke to service represenitive and stated that the truck needed the plastic wheel wells needed to be replace. The plastic has just fallen apart. The service representative replies with, Do you know if we have the parts in stock? No, I do not know if you have the parts in stock. Am I as the customer, required to know if you have the parts in stock. Service rep, I'm not sure if we have the parts in stock. At this point it was clear to me that even though the world SERVICE is in big letters above the door. There was not going be any service or interest in doing the work. I left. Late last year I spent over two thousand dollars here and they could not get the correct name on the work order. read more

I purchased my first Honda in 2016 from Frank Brown in Lubbock, and Blake Silvas was my salesman. I purchased a Honda HRV, not only was it my first Honda but actually at the age of 51 my first car ever in my name. On April 17, 2018 I was driving and was distracted running thru a red light and totaled my car. But when I got the news that the insurance company was totaling the vehicle, I knew exactly who to call and where to go. I called Blake and told him what had happened, I made an appointment to go by the dealership to see him. When I arrived he met me outside and had a 2018 Honda HRV, very similar in color as my last, waiting at the entrance. Frank Brown used to be a really great dealership. We bought a 2017 Ridgeline certified used. We bought the extended warranty for extra protection though we have never had a problem with the multiple Honda's we've purchased in the past. The truck was back for service 3 times in the first 6 months. Once it wouldn't turn off. Each time we are greeted with "that's not covered under warranty". Not "may not be covered." All 3 of the problems were covered under recalls. Not sure what the warranty covers but the last repair was a bucking sensation from the transmission. Not part of the drive train? Our mistake. There are 5 Hondas in our driveway but this is likely the last. Definitely the last from Frank Brown! read more

Went to go buy a Toyota 4Runner. Alberto showed us a nice used model and rushed us to complete the sale. We agreed to 25500 out the door, total. No fees and we pay our own taxes and title on base back in NM. Dealer manager added fees back in at sale and said they were non negotiable, even though we agreed to was 25500 OUT THE DOOR. We kept asking for a carfax and Alberto kept saying "yeah I'll get that to you" and then dropped us off with the manager to complete the sale. We stopped and said show me the carfax before we sign, he then got on the phone and said "ok bring it over" like he knew what it was hiding. The report showed 2 accidents! Never mentioned! May update this at a later time. We pretty much sold this car to ourselves, meaning that we saw the car, knew we wanted it, and did not have to be sold at all. Everything went smooth as, better than we could have hoped. 08 Honda Element with 56k miles on it, for around 12k and a 3 year warranty? Hell yeah. We had the car for 3 days when my wife took it to Frank Brown to get it checked out and certified, for the warranty. They informed her that there was a recall on one of the airbags so she needed to leave it there until they could fix it. Now, the funny thing is, my wife specifically ASKED our salesman if all the recalls had been fixed, while she was looking at the carfax report. He assured her they had. We believed him. So now, the car that we just got, is sitting in their shop two weeks later, and the part isn't even on the horizon yet. The service guys are as nice as can be, but there's nothing they can do about it. We're going to end up making our first payment on this car before we even get a chance to drive it. Oh, and thanks for ruining our Easter plans. We'd hoped to load up our dogs and drive to the canyon for a day of hiking, picnicking, and generally enjoying our car. We will instead be working in our yard, Elementless. I would write this review on their website, but it seems you can't. Unless I can't find it. My experience with this Frank Brown Honda the past two times has been poor :( It took them a whole day to change my oil and do a state inspection. Where I have gone to gas station mechanics before and have had it done in an hour. This time I took my car is on a Thursday because my window would not roll back up due to the motor being broken. They told me it would take the day and I could pick that evening. They called me at 5:30 saying my car was fixed and ready to be picked up. I got there at 6:00 and my car panel was not attached to the door and wires exposed. They had not done anything! I spent money ubering there and then back with it being $25 (which is a lot of a college student). I would of been okay with them calling to say it wouldn't be ready till Friday but they decided not to be honest. I picked it up Friday morning at 11 am after another $10 uber ride. I hope nobody else experiences this and I will need to find a more trustworthy and realizable car service mechanic :( read more

I am writing this review as it relates specifically to the Frank Brown Service department. After living outside of Lubbock for over 15 years, for the most part in much bigger cities, I have grown quite accustomed to curling up in a ball and taking a beating mentally when gearing up to pay mechanics for work done on my vehicles. My heart sunk when I called a local mechanic shop that I grew up familiar with in Lubbock when they informed me that I would have to take my issue to the Honda dealership to get this specific issue resolved. The dealership?!?! I promptly went to my budget to see where the thousand dollar car repair I had in mind fit in. My phone call to Frank Brown started to put me at ease. Rather than hemming and hawing about what expensive services they likely needed to do to check things out and resolve the issue, based upon my layman's term description of what was going on, the customer service technician knew immediately what the issue was, was clear and to the point on what neded to be done and the likely cost and invited me to come take care of it. The team at Frank Brown is friendly and they work fast and effectively. The shuttle to and from work makes this a convenient task. Not only did I get them to resolve my issue, but they replaced my oil and windshield wipers and got me hooked up on my inspection report - a nice one-stop shop place to go. The real reason I am giving them five stars though, is that they put to rest my long-held notion that dealerships are not affordable alternatives. The oil change was on par with the oil change places in town and the issue I thought was going to be expensive was way less than I would have experienced in other parts of the country I have lived. The labor charges seemed far less than other places that I have seen. Finally, they ran an Airbag diagnostics due to an indicator that I had on free of charge. read more

Our son's Accord was having trouble starting. Received good advice and service from Dean at Frank Brown. The problem ended up being an internal battery defect on a Honda installed battery. Having recently gone thru a move, our son did not have the receipt for the original purchase, thus had to pay for a new battery. I only come here to change my oil, that's if I am not able to change it myself. The service here is horrible. I pulled up and no one was on the Honda side, there was a guy finishing up on the GMC side with a guy but then walked inside and I felt ignored. The Honda side was all dark and finally someone came out and then walked past my car into the office to answer a phone instead of helping me. This isn't the first time I've had bad service here, but they are a lot cheaper than other places. Like I said this is a last resort if I'm not able to change my own oil. This is the second consecutive time I took a vehicle in for service. And I received my vehicle with greasy handprints on the hood of the car, mud on the leather seat, and damage to the interior door panel. After the first time when I received damage to my truck, I specifically told the service manager that I don't want this happening again. Well needless to say, it happened again to the Denali. Frustrated does not begin to describe how I feel. The two issues that I took our vehicles in for service were warranty issues. So Frank Brown had to fix these problems. We even purchased the extended warranty for our vehicles. Now I am second and third guessing about taking our vehicles back to Frank Brown for any service. And our vehicles are only 14 months old. So we still have the remaining standard warranty as well as the extended warranty to deal with Frank Brown's service department. Copy read more

My daughter's car was taken in after she was hit in a parking lot. Our insurance company covered body and paint work that was done by Frank Brown Honda. About a month after we noticed a spot where the paint had bubbled on the spot they had repaired. Took it back in where they agreed they were at fault and would fix it for free. When the car was brought in and dropped off the service department called stating they changed their minds and decided it wasn't their fault and that she would owe over $550 for the repair. Tried to make an appointment 2 days in advance and was told that was not necessary. Brought it in the day before (Wednesday) (approximately 4pm) and was told it would be started on and finished the next day (Thursday) and that a loaner vehicle was not available. On Thursday I had not heard anything by 3pm so I called and was told that the technician had just gotten to it. An hour later Sammy called back to tell me what the vehicle needed, I agreed after being told it would be done Friday by noon and that a loaner was still not available. I showed up Friday at 11:45am and was told it would be done by noon since that is when it was promised. Sammy came out at 12:15 and told me they needed another 2-3 hours on it. After I complained that I had already missed Thursday and Friday morning from work he went to get me a loaner. I was loaned a vehicle that was old and very damaged on the exterior. I use Frank Brown because they usually do have loaners and their ability in the past to keep me informed at all times and quick work. This was continuous lies and misleading information. I will not be taking my vehicle, nor will I allow any of my employees to take any fleet vehicles to this dealership for servicing. It should not take 48 hours for Tire Rotation, Alignment, Transmission Flush, Transfer Case Service, and Differential Service. read more

I am a college student who has a honda and I brought my car into the service center because someone knocked my mirror off, anyway the guy who " helped" me was not very nice at all.. At the time my tire pressure light was on so I asked him to check it, and he said it just needed air...? So a few days later i go back to honda because my tire pressure light was on again, and I wanted to make sure everything was fine before i drove 6 hours with it.. He then finally said I had a screw in my tire... and then proceeded to tell me that I should just go to discount tire... he was very rude and clearly didn't seem like he wanted to help me.. I obviously went to honda because thats who I wanted to work on my car but I was told to go somewhere else because he clearly didn't want to work or help me.. All in all from now on i REFUSE to go to this place because of how rude the service guy was too me. read more

I thought the whole operation was beyond excellent. They treat you well while you wait and they are very competent and fair.

We raced to this dealership saturday evening after CALLING first to make sure an '08 honda was still available FOR SALE. We test drove it, loved it, and filled out papers. We were told the sales rep would even move it off the lot. He told us they didnt open til 10am monday (turns out thats when HE would be at work) and that he would contact the bank for our trade in payoff then. I called monday morning at 9am after speaking to our bank and getting the green light, and told the dealership to fax them the papers and such. 2 hours later, the sales associate, Isaac, calls and tells me they sold the car out from under us. I called my husband, who called to speak to a manager and was given the run around, and BS'ed until he just hung up on them. I am so upset about this, I dont think I will ever choose to do business with Frank Brown again. I advise you not to either.... We had a much better experience even with the sales sharks at Pollard Ford. At least there we were treated like a customer and not crap. read more

I was in the market for a minivan recently. I really wanted to buy the car locally and spent some time at Frank Brown Honda looking at the Odyssey. My salesperson did a great job showing us the vehicle and was very personable. I really enjoyed dealing with him and wanted to buy a car from him. We set up some ballpark numbers one day so that I could so some planning for the near future. I ended up moving faster than I expected and called in to set up a time to purchase the car from Frank Brown. They did not have the car on the lot but said they could pick up what I was looking for from another dealer through a trade. This was fine with me, as I knew it would take a few extra days. I came in to hammer out the details and do the paperwork to buy the vehicle once it arrived at the dealership from a trade. I sat down with the salesperson and he said he would do what he could to locate the vehicle and get it to Lubbock. At this point we had not talked numbers for the vehicle other than ballpark numbers including payments and interest rates. After speaking with his manager the salesperson arrived back in the office and said they had find a car a few hours away that they could pick up. I told him that sounded good with me. As he was walking away, he stopped and asked that if they got the car I would buy it for the number that he had down. This number was less then $1000 off sticker price. I told him I wanted to buy the car but not for that number. The salesperson immediately stopped and looked at me in shock. He asked me what I wanted to get the vehicle for. I told him exactly what I thought I would pay for the vehicle. He asked me where I got that number. I told him that I had done some research on the Internet and felt that what I was asking for what not unreasonable but I would have paid a bit more to get it locally. One of the websites I used was Kelly Blue Book, which had the vehicle at this fair price around $3000 lower than sticker. This "fair price" does not include dealer additions but that was fine. The salesperson looked at me with disbelief. He told me directly that he thought, "We may be wasting our time." This upset me because I had such a good experience thus far with this salesperson and to me that should never be said to a customer. I told him that I would just go to the DFW area and purchase the vehicle for that amount that I told him. He told me that he had just gotten back from a conference in that area and that I was not going to get that deal. The salesperson then stood up and walked to speak with his manager. He came back shortly and told me that I was crazy if I thought I was going to get that deal. He shook my hand and I walked out. The salesperson shook his head several times, which I felt was very disrespectful in the manner that he did it. I also never saw the manger or anyone else to attempt to make a sale/keep me as a customer nor did the salesperson ever come back with a number less than $1000 under sticker price. Less then a week later, I went to the DFW area and picked up the car on the lot for under what I wanted to get it for with better dealer additions than were offered by Frank Brown. This is the second time I have purchased a vehicle, the second time I have tried to buy a car from Lubbock dealerships, and the second time I have purchased a vehicle in DFW area. Things like this make me feel like I am wasting my time even trying to buy a car from dealerships in this area. read more

I feel compelled to write a review of Frank Brown Honda after recently buying a Honda Accord. I'm 58 and have always wanted to own a Honda. About a month before I bought it I went to Frank Brown to look at the Accords and met Angel who took the time to tell me about all the different trim levels even though he knew I wasn't planning on buying one anytime soon. When I came back to Lubbock I called about the discounts on the remaining 2016 Accords and 0.9 financing. I told Angel I wanted to trade my car in. Angel not only remembered me he knew the car I was driving when we first met. They offered me twice the trade in value than a Honda dealer in Dallas a year ago. There was no pressure of any kind. I made the deal in about 1 hour. I was completely familiarized with the vehicle by Angel. Aaron in finance was terrific he needed my title to my trade in and dispatched someone to drive to Dallas to meet my wife to get the title. This dealership gives 110 percent to their customers. The professional (non-pushy) sales staff, were sure to come through with their 'word' and kept their promises. We purchased a pre-owned Honda, which was in great shape. The sales staff made a very good deal and provided CarFax for the car we purchased. The finance people were nice, and non-pushy, the service, parts, and everyone one we dealt with - were all outstanding with great attitudes - offering the finest customer service. It was as everyone was on the 'same page' together, all to make sure that we were the customer, and that they wanted our repeat business. Took my Acura Nsx in for a routine valve cover gasket change thinking they would able to take care of it since its a job a local car care drive thru would be able to do was I wrong. I took my car here because Lubbock does not have an Acura dealership and I could see why. These guys at Frank Brown tried to ask Acura to open an Acura here but their quality FAILED miserably. These guys treated my Nsx like a guinea pig. They dropped the motor just to change the valve cover gasket and took over a month on it!! They did not cover the seats while working on it or the floor mats!! After setting my engine on a block of wood for over a month the oil pan started to leak and had a indention in it. I took these guys to court and they lost and paid for a new oil pan. When they replaced the gasket the head technician didn't even sequence or torque the oil pan bolts correctly and it leaked again! These guys don't even own a torque wrench! These guys are not qualified to fix any car at all and should not be able to carry the Honda name on their shirts. DO NOT TAKE your car here if you value your car any. They will say everything to get you in the door. They will act like the nicest people but they are not. Believe me.
