Oh my gosh. Dr. James Fiori was so helpful to me when I had vertigo. He took the x-rays and actually showed me what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also has it on his website. It helps to understand why you are getting chiropractic treatment and how it might help you with your daily living. He is quite spendy, but I do believe he is worth every penny of it. Three days after the initial adjustment, I felt different, straighter, but my body ached and was stiff. I got a massage at a local massage spa and the following day my feet ached. I had a follow up exam with Dr. Fiore and he checked the alignment of my body through a couple of tests and determined that my initial adjustment held. He did a minor adjustment to my hip and he sent me home to return in another three days. The next day (day 4) I felt an urge to stretch and did some upper back, neck and shoulder stretches. It's as if all the anxiety and tensions in my neck were released and my neck and shoulders started popping and realigning. Dr. Fiore stresses that a healthy body will cure itself and align itself. This was becoming self evident. I can once again do my yoga stretches pain free! On my second follow up visit, again, Dr. Fiore determined that my initial adjustment held and that no adjustment was necessary. He explained that to adjust someone when they don't need an adjustment is harmful and reckless and again stressed that Chiropractics is about minimal adjustments, to determine and accurately pin point the subluxations and to adjust the subluxations then allow the body to heal itself. We found Dr. Fiore by referral from my husband's sister. My husband went to Dr. Fiore because he was suffering from lower back pain. The pain was so bad that it was hindering his normal activities. After a couple treatments with Dr. Fiore my husband was back to his normal activities and was amazed at how well the treatment worked. He explained to me how Dr. Fiore works. He said it was different than any other chiropractic experience. He was right. The first visit Dr. Fiore spends time explaining the body and how he performs his treatment. It is called the Blair Technique. He only adjusts the first two vertebrae in your neck. And explains how the body's energy supply can be cut off when the head and neck, he calls it the "cup and saucer," are not aligned. Adjust these two and the rest of the spine falls into place opening up the nerves and life fluid that runs down our spine. He will not touch you the first day. He informs and educates you then he schedules an appointment for the following day or so. The next time you come back he does all kinds of tests to check your posture. Then he does x-rays on your head and neck. He uses only three pieces of equipment after your first visit. I am a runner, rollerblader, and cyclist. I started experience pain on my left hip and my right knee and frequently experienced lower back pain. My workouts were either shortened or all together put off because of the pain. It turned out that my cup was off its saucer and that I was weighing 20 pound heavier on one side which was causing the problem between my opposite hip and knee. After my adjustment I was instructed to cut all my workouts in half. Great advice! I cut my run in half and because my muscles were not use to their new position I was sore. I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. The restrooms at this provider's office were clean and well-maintained. You could tell that they cleaned them regularly. I really loved that they offered on-site X-Rays. It was so convenient, and I didn't have to spend any extra time driving somewhere else to get them done. I had to wait for a little while after I arrived for my appointment, but I've had to wait longer at other places. They were ready to see me when I showed up for my appointment. I have had many years of chiropractic treatment including the NUCCA technique. I prefer more gentle manipulations and a very holistic approach to treatment. I found just that with Dr. Fiore. I am beyond happy to have found Dr Fiore (thanks so much to Angela Sinett, Magnolia Acupuncture for referring) I have been suffering from neck & shoulder pain with constant headaches for years (3 years to be exact after a car accident). I have tried physical therapy, 3 spinal epidurals & acupuncture with minimal relief. Dr Fiore is extremely thorough...it is a process not necessarily a quick fix. I was referred to Dr. Fiore by a friend who had been going and getting tremendous relief for both herself and her mother-in-law. I was hit by a car at 70mph almost 20 years ago and have suffered with back/neck pain since then. I have always been a firm believer in chiropractic and had been experiencing some muscular relief from percussion therapy but the pain was not going away. I was tired of waking up with two dead arms and decided to give it a shot. After a series of very specific tests and xrays, Dr. Fiore was able to determine that my atlas and axis were subluxed. In laymans terms, my head wasn't screwed on straight and I was twisted. With one adjustment using the Blair method, my atlas and axis were put back into alignment and I could not believe the difference it has made! My pain level has decreased substantially, I have not had numbness in my arms now for a week since my first treatment, I am sleeping better, my posture has improved TREMENDOUSLY with no more shoulders rolling forward and my face no longer twists to the right. Since a freak accident broke my back 17 years ago, I've gone to seven different chiropractors and Dr. Fiore is the only one who has been able to fix my neck. Sure the other ones have taken x-rays and shown pretty much the same loss of curvature, displacement etc. but their methods were either incomplete (NUCCA only adjusts one bone), too gentle (that tapping thing didn't quite do it) or too gross (the crank and yank ones who sometimes make you feel worse and require dependency).
