I don't even know where to start when it came to dealing with the service manager, Jeremy! I work travel & was in Decatur working for the week. I purchased a new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe at Longview Hyundai 3 wks ago. 3 WEEKS AGO PEOPLE! BRAND NEW!!! Ended up at Lowe's parking lot after arriving b/c of a flat tire. Called roadside assistance for help through BlueLink App w/Hyundai as I am suppose to. Guy arrived sooner than the normal time, aired the tire up to see if it was a slow leak & it began to bubble up around the wall of the tire. It was then decided it was a defected tire (pics included). He followed me to Hyundai in Decatur. After speaking with Jeremy, the service guy, they would have to order the tire which wouldn't arrive until Wednesday, but they had a another brand I could get for $350. I told him NO! It was a defected tire & Hyundai guarantees defected parts/tires for free. My car was only 3 wks old. He told me a nail was found in my tire (not sure how true that is) which made it not under warranty. I called his BS & contacted my dealership & they were appalled at how I was being treated. My dealer looked it up & showed it to be a defected tire & needed to be replaced at no cost. Jeremy denied that & stated I would have to pay for a tire b/c it was not under warranty due to the nail. UGH! Mind you, they had put my spare on it already! Long story short, my dealership in Longview came to the rescue. They had a driver deliver me a rental car all the way from Longview, picked up my car, drove it back to their lot in Longview & will be replacing my tire for FREE! They are also going to check my other 3 tires to make sure they are good. That is what good customer service is. Jeremy, you need to take lessons on "good customer" service b/c what you attempted to do me was wrong on ALL LEVELS. SHAME ON YOU & how embarrassing that you work under the Hyundai name. My biggest issue is the service I have waited over 6 months to have my headliner fixed. It had 3 holes in the roof behind the rearview mirror. That was a factory defect. It was covered under warranty, I let them know and they had me in within the week. Well that "fix" left my headliner is a much worse condition with adhesive all over my car seats, it is not even connected in the back, dents in several places, finish rubbed off on my passenger visor, and dirty hand prints in the headliner. It has been this way for 6 months now even though they had me in a loaner and had my car for over a month "fixing" what they made worse. I've gotten excuse after excuse and been put off, blown off, and my phone calls never returned. This is ridiculous I shouldn't have to be dealing with this for this long after paying over MSRP for my car. read more

I had a terrible experience, There were just so many things that went wrong. I tried to work with the sales manager and his assistant, to no avail. When I went to the dealership, I really didn't know much about Hyundais and I needed guidance and assistance. I went to drive a Sonata, and then test drove some of the crossovers and SUVs. I loved the Santa Fe that I drove but I found out it didn't get good mileage and so I decided against it. I was told the Tucsons get better mileage, and that they are the "bread and butter" of what Hyundai sells. So I considered the Tucson, although it's not as big a vehicle as I wanted. I was told that if I looked at a FWD instead of the AWD I thought would be a better choice, that I'd get better mileage. I said getting good mileage was very important to me. No one told me that Hyundai makes a hybrid of both the Santa Fe and the Tucson and I could achieve my goal of having good mileage in a larger vehicle without sacrificing either the safety of AWD or additional space. We never got to talk about Palisades, which I really find I like. Trey found a Tucson with FWD at another dealership and brought it in for me. I signed for it, got home, and realized I don't like the car at all and it wasn't helping me accomplish the goals I had set. I had overpaid for something I didn't want or like. Seeing that I had overspent for a car I didn't want, I called Trey, the manager, and told him I was very dissatisfied and didn't want the car I'd come home with. His first go-to was to tell me that was too bad...the car I'd just paid too much for had depreciated by $5,960 in the couple of days I'd had it, and they'd be happy to sell me something else if I would blow the so-called "equity" (i.e., a straight-out financial loss to me, and a HUGE one to be absorbed in a matter of hours), then they'd trade it back in as a used vehicle and sell me something else. I'm not that dumb, although apparently they saw me that way. They told me to look around and see if I could find something I liked. Trying to save money, I looked at an Elantra, then decided against it after its arrival was postponed for days and I never got a chance to drive it. A friend told me she'd had a GREAT experience with a Hyundai dealer in Granbury and had bought a hybrid SUV with AWD and it got great mileage and is perfect for those bad weather days in TX. I began to ask the management team about the possibility of getting one of these and I was offered nothing but the Limited or higher trim Santa Fe's with AWD and the hybrid option in. color I do not like (red) that were on the Decatur lot at that moment. They refused to try and get a color besides the red that I don't like. I was told "unfortunately a hybrid is not something that we can accommodate as we don't have any available in stock or in transit and we're not able to trade for one." I was told that time was running out and the only thing I could do to try and save money would be to go there that day by end of business to sign a contract to at least reduce the interest rate (which would then cause me to sacrifice a $795 incentive). It was a no-win. I asked about buying a used car! I told Brad I wanted drive their used Santa Fe Calligraphy, stock #P18206. I was told, no, it's sold. Except today, it's still on the lot, still on the website, and Peisha just told me again it is still available, so I was LIED to. Every car I asked about that was on the lot, they had reason not to sell to me. Finally I had no choice but to drag myself back there and sign a revised contract that at least would lower the rate on the payment for the Tucson I don't want, don't like, and tried to bring back. When I met with finance she asked me about buying all the extended contracts and other stuff and I said, NO! I don't even want this car. I never wanted it and I'm not okay with this transaction or this situation. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I'll never shop at James Wood. read more

My brand new 2024 Elantra SEL is barely a month old, but a few weeks ago, I began having problems with my lights. After forty minutes of idling in the car, my safety features disable and lights start popping up. Call the dealership for an appointment and it takes them a week to get me in. I tell them that for the last week, every single day, my car pops up with the lights. Tell me it could be that the radar is out, bent, or a software update. I go into the dealership to get it taken care of, the service person doesn't come to me and greet me, instead I go to him. I begin asking when my car will be finished and his response was "at least thirty minutes". Well I would assume it would considering that most do. I had work and so I was trying to estimate when I would need a ride back. He had no clue and told me it could be today or take longer. Didn't mention a loaner or anything. Said he had none and made it feel like a me problem. Considering I just bought this car, I will not pay a single dime toward a new car that is having problems. He told me that whatever wasn't a manufacturer issue I would have to pay. He tells me, "if you hit a pole or ran over a big rock, you will have to pay if the damage is on your end". The way he said it was my problem. You're not going to tell me that my brand new car that has barely 1000 miles at the time of problem starting, that it will be my responsibility. I call back for updates and takes an hour and a half to get back to me, thirty minutes before I pick the car up. Ridiculous. Told me that they could not duplicate problem, but I sit in my car as I tell them for forty minutes and guess what pops up again after taking it to them?! This dealership has given my mother problems and now is giving me a problem. I will post pictures of what it does and how the problem they couldn't duplicate, happens to me! Something isn't right. Something got overlooked. Rude rude rude!! Will be taking my vehicle to get fixed at a different dealership. Just called and the one in North Richland Hills was much more understanding of my frustrations, walked me through the steps he'd take to try and fix it, and assured me I would not pay a cent. Not only that, but they'd squeeze me in on a Saturday when it will be busy for them. That is the customer service the dealership should have. I won't be pushed aside when I paid a pretty penny for this car. Do better! read more

So, I connected with Brad Bunch, sales manager and we agreed ahead of time on a specific vehicle and price, including a reasonable range of a trade in value for my car. Upon coming to the dealership, everyone was welcoming and friendly. There were no surprises in the negotiations. If this was my only negative experience at this dealership, I might consider it atypical, but it wasn't. I had an appointment for a "Check Engine" light. Previous to the appointment, I got a readout on the code. The error had several possible causes, one of which was keeping the tank full to lead the OBD-2 system to think the fuel level sensor was malfunctioning. I pointed this out to the service advisor. Nevertheless, they diagnosed a fault with over $1,000 in charges. The advisor was unable to reach the extended warranty carrier, so I agreed to drive back home (the vehicle was running fine). It's been a week, and I've heard nothing. Meanwhile, the car continues to run fine, and the engine light has not came back on. Now, I'm almost sure I caused the problem by keeping the tank topped off (rapidly rising prices). I could have been spent a lot of money for a problem that didn't exist. I was driving through Decatur on my way to Colorado Springs. The blower motor on my Hyundai Santa Fe stopped working abruptly and I absolutely needed my heater for my trip. I looked for the first upcoming dealer and that just happened to be James Wood Hyundai. We pulled in and they immediately said they would help us. They got our car in and out and were able to replicate our problem. They did not have the part we needed in stock, but our service advisor went above and beyond and called the dealership in the town we were stopping in for the night to have them order it so it would be there for us the next day. That kind of customer service makes me wish I didn't live 6 hours away so I could do all my business with this dealership. I have dealt with several dealerships in the past and never have I had such a wonderful experience. I couldn't recommend this service department highly enough! read more

bought our elantra from clinton bramlett, excellent experience. we are long past doing the old dealer experience, so i emailed several local dealers. most just gave the "c'mon in and let's talk". i wanted to know about what out the door cost to expect. clinton emailed back all kinds of info, price, minus rebates, options, and what they had, or could get. so we knew before we went there what to expect. the dealer closer to us was thousands more. we have since taken the car twice for service, and again, excellent experience. another dealer is closer, but when you add in the extra time needed because of construction, it is about the same. then there are other variables, like the roads are all beat up, and it is like going off road in a passenger car. hwy 380 from denton to decatur is new, smooth, and there are very few cars using it. speed limit is 70. i think average speed to the dealer local is more like 7. service manager brian doss did an excellent job. the second time we took the car there, it had a miss. brian and the tech working on the car kept us up to date on what they were doing, shortly after dropping the car off, the tech called, and told us they had reproduced the miss, but had to call hyundai technical for some assistance. i was prepared to leave the car overnite, but they fixed it that day, and it drives like new now. even got a nice wash, too. anyone in denton should consider the short, pleasant drive to decatur. we saved both money and time, and above all, had a pleasant experience read more
