2 years ago I was officially diagnosed with 2 herniated discs L4-L5 and L5-S1. Dr Zhong continues to be the best acupuncturist and the most honest and sincere doctor I've ever seen. In January of 2018, I was involved in a hit and run accident ( I was riding my bike near Sandy Beach when I car struck me from behind and then fled). The accident left me with a fractured scapula and three ribs. I was in a bit of pain, as you can imagine, and the doctors said it would take 4-6 weeks for the ribs to heal and 4-6 months for the shoulder to fully heal. It's March 2018 and after 6 acupuncture treatments with Dr. Zhong back in January and early February, my bones have all fused and I have full mobility with my injured shoulder. Dr. Zhong was a medical doctor in China, specializing in natural medicine. He has 30 years of experience in the medical field, and comes from a family of doctors. Because of his medical background, he is able to determine the underlying cause of many medical problems. He said that he's healed many patients with serious health problems with acupuncture and herbs. He showed me a binder with handwritten letters from grateful patients that he's cured. I broke my arm in August, and because it was in a sling for 3 weeks, I developed a very bad case of frozen shoulder. Physical therapy was excruciating. I wanted to cry. Try moving an arm that can't move...ouch! After one month of PT 3x/week, I still wasn't making any progress at all. My therapist felt sorry for me because I was in so much pain that he suggested I try acupuncture. My orthopedic surgeon referred me to Dr. Zhong. That was the best thing I did. After about 5 or 6 treatments, my range of motion improved dramatically. PT was so much easier, as I felt more relaxed with less pain, thus making it easier for my therapist to move my arm. So far I've had 11 acupuncture treatments, and I'm making progress every week. Now I can raise my arm almost 90 degrees and the PT exercises that was once so painful isn't anymore. First of all, I do not trust anyone who is not Chinese to do acupuncture. Second of all, I research the ABSOLUTELY BEST. Especially when it comes to my health. Dr. Zhong was a oriental medical doctor, the equivalent to an internist in China and is a 5th generation acupuncturist/herbalist. That's about as good as it gets. He was training since he was 16! Not a 4-year university...I hurt my hip which made it difficult for me to work, as I am a nurse and it is vital that I walk. I had to get surgery and went to him after to help heal faster. As he was a medical doctor, I showed him my images and although he speaks broken English, the way he was explaining the scan was similar to my MD. I know he knows the human anatomy and that makes me feel at ease because there are very few acupuncturists who have the knowledge that he does with Western and Eastern medicine. If medical intervention is needed, he never says to not do it. For me, I mainly use Western medicine and use Eastern medicine to supplement my health. It's pretty amazing how he can just look at me and tell me what's wrong with me. I always feel better after a session with him. Went to try my first acupuncture since physical therapy wasn't as effective for my leg. Have to say after my first visit the leg felt better compared to four visits with physical therapy. Dr. Zhong helped me with Shingles. From my left shoulder down to my left hand thumb area I was extreme pain and could move my arm. It's really sad that Dr. Zhong doesn't have lists and lists of 5 star reviews! He's a VERY skilled Dr! As mentioned before he's a 5th generation MDO physician and has combined MANY MANY years of practice, traveling back n forth from the US to China because his learning never stopped at graduation! He's such a sincere man and wants nothing more then to help his patients get relief from Whatever Pain or ailment they may be suffering from. I know for a fact that it's NOT about the $$ because his services are so cheap compared to regular Dr office visit costs! People complain that his fee of $75.00 is high! SERIOUSLY?!! How much is your pain and suffering worth??!?! That $75.00 fee is still way less then what you'd pay for prescription meds! Not to mention the office visit fee the physician fee the x-ray fee the MRI fee and it goes on and on and on! I'd pay $150.00 for a visit with him if it gave me relief from my pain that I suffer daily! Luckily he doesn't charge that much. I also happen to know that Dr. Zhong also does charity work once every week! And he charges ONLY $5.00 for the treatment! So clearly he does not do it for the money. He really does it because he truly believes in what he does. And let me tell you, not only has it worked for my back pain. Dr. Zhong is amazing. He can read what is going on with the minute you walk in. He is a professional at what he does and treats his patients with respect. He makes you understand what's going on with your body and what you must do in order to help the treatment become more effective and help your body heal tremendously. Dr. Zhong is currently treating tumor that's growing on my right shoulder. With the acupuncture and following what he instructs me to do has helped shrunk the tumor. I have a long way to go to heal completely but seeing results has given me hope than going to a regular oncologist who just wanted to cut me open with no actual healing to my illness. The oncologist seemed they weren't sure what kind of tumor it was because it took numerous MRIs and scans to find out what it was. To make this story short, I went through radiation for a month that resulted in making the tumor inflamed and bigger. I was supposed to undergo surgery after the radiation but seeing what the radiation did gave me second thoughts. The radiation was supposed to shrink the tumor but it did the opposite. I cancelled the surgery that was supposed to be after the radiation and did my own research for alternative healing. I found Dr. Zhong on yelp or more like he found me. I have been suffering from lower back pain this whole week. On the recommendation of friends and urging from my wife, I went to see Dr Zhong. Dr Zhong's initial advice was that I need to take better care of my body & health including more exercise. Admittedly, I had stopped taking my daily 30 minute lunch walks due to pressures at work. I need to get back into my routine. This was the first time I had acupuncture performed on me so I did not know what to expect. Dr Zhong's skill is excellent. As he was examining my back and asking me where it hurt, he was also inserting the acupuncture needles. I would never have known that was happening if my wife had not been in the room watching. She has seen acupuncture treatments before in Hong Kong, and was also impressed by Dr Zhong's skill. Even when he removed the needles after the electro treatment, I did not feel any pain and my wife that she saw no blood. After the treatment was over, I felt that I could move a lot easier. I was looking on behalf of a friend who was suffering from lower back pain. So much so that he was unable to move or walk. I highly recommend Dr. Zhong. He not only prevented my cold from getting worse and turning into pneumonia or a sinus infection, but he helped me get completely well really fast. I caught a cold after getting overheated and run down by being out at the beach all day, kiteboarding, and probably not drinking enough. Dr. Zhong described it as "summer flu" from getting overheated externally. I had a fever, chills, and body aches and exhaustion, and a deep rattling cough in my chest. I went to Dr. Zhong the next day and he gave me acupuncture and herb pills. Immediately after the acupuncture treatment I noticed that my chest had cleared a lot. My temperature stabilized and the next day I felt better, but the mucus was now in my sinuses. Dr. Zhong gave me another treatment and some different herb pills. He also gave me some dietary tips. The next day I felt 75% better and the mucus was starting to clear. The next day my energy was back to normal and I only had a little bit of mucus left.
