Holly's attitude, unprofessional and horrible customer service, left me with no words. Even thought I was really polite since I started talking to her. Unfortunately, my hair was severely damaged during the process to the point where parts of it were burnt, I came in for a specific color (balayage) but the results were nothing like what I asked for. Not only was the color completely off, but my highlights were so poorly done that they've started to tear and break my hair while I brush it. This has caused me a lot of stress. While I appreciate that the salon gave me back half of what I paid, because I had to beg for it, not fair what they've done to my hair. I believe this level of damage should never happen in the first place at a professional salon, emotional damage isn't something money can fix anyways. I'm sharing this review not out of malice, but so others can make an informed decision especially if you're considering chemical treatments. There's only three people working so it was a very long afternoon. The girls who are doing the pedi's were great. Our biggest problem was... THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE TOOLS BETWEEN CLIENTS! I'm used to going places that line the pedi tubs in plastic for each client, clean and inspect the tools, and use a brand new pumice scrubber for each client. None of this happened at Nails 4 U. They use the exact same tools as they used in the client before and the same scrubber. They do not line their tubs so you have to Hope that whoever cleaned the tub, did a good job. With my finicky tastes, I have entrusted Jamie with my hair care for over 10 years. I like her willingness to listen to my concerns, and make suggestions of her own. Jamie is creative and very skilled, can envision a target hairstyle and get you there in 2-3 cuts, if not immediately, depending on your current conditions. Scheduling appointments is easy, as Jaime is always willing to arrange her schedule for her clients. Jaime uses the same hair products that she offers for purchase, and gives instructions on how to use them. She also gives styling tips that are helpful. The salon itself is a beautiful environment, welcoming you to enjoy some time of well-deserved pampering. Kelli is the salon manicurist, who does a fabulous job. She is quick and efficient, offers manicures & pedicures (which feels so soothing!), and has a wide variety of nail colors to choose from. You can breath easily in this salon, as it does not have the overwhelming chemical smell present in other salons. You can easily tell these ladies have a lot of experience and are client-friendly. Jamie Angela Salon has opened in a beautiful, serene new space. The hairstyling and grooming support is top-notch as always. I walk out feeling pampered and beautiful, with a style I like and can easily manage myself. My sons (ages 19 and 20) emerge with cool new haircuts, great grooming, and great advice on maintaining their looks. They both choose to continue to go to Jamie even as they now pay for their haircuts themselves! The new space is in the basement area of a residence. If you have any uneasiness about that arrangement, put it aside. There is plenty of parking in the driveway and on the street. Walk down the wide cement stairway (with a nice handrail) to the right of the house. You'll find a well-maintained yard that backs up to a pond at the bottom of the stairs. What a gem of a salon! Just discovered it and wish I'd found it sooner. Walking in the first time, I was struck by the friendly, happy atmosphere and the comfortable, beautiful decor. The owner, Diane was great! Friendly and listened to what I wanted. She cut a little more than I expected but gave me the exact style I had been trying to get, where other stylists failed. She gave me a good tip on coloring and had no problem letting me play with my hair after the cut and she even had my coconut oil. I will definitely be back!!!!

Then we moved back to the area, and Diane styled my long hair (as it grew in) 3 times in the last year. Now I know why she is worthy of such extreme loyalty. She's REALLY GREAT, very skilled, as is her staff. She does expert coloring, too. Small place, maybe out of the way, but you get excellent, professional service and style. I've not tried the tanning, but with Diane at the helm, I'm sure that's great, too.

I rearranged my entire day, moved other appointments, and adjusted my work schedule specifically for this appointment. The salon called only one hour before my appointment to tell me that Melanie Saldivar would not be available because she was running behind with another client. This was especially frustrating because the salon had called the previous day to confirm my appointment, and I had clearly confirmed that I would be there. After I explained that I had already reorganized my schedule, they offered me a 2:00 PM appointment instead. I arrived a few minutes early and then waited for nearly 30 minutes. I had even skipped lunch to make it there on time. At that point, I decided to leave because there was no clear communication about when I would actually be seen. What disappointed me even more was that after I left, no one called, texted, or checked in to see what happened. As I am writing this review at 3:00 PM, I still have not received any apology, update, or follow-up from the salon. This entire experience showed a complete lack of respect for a customer's time. I planned my day around this appointment, only to deal with a last-minute change, a long wait, and no communication afterward. Professionalism and customer service were completely lacking. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon to anyone who values their time and expects appointments to be honored and customers to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.

I refuse to let anyone cut my hair except for Carol. I walked into You Have Style! for the first…read moretime when I was in high school, and have been going to Carol ever since. It's been about ten years since we first met, and Carol is just as consistently talented and wonderful now as she was when she was styling in Lake Bluff. My personal style is a bit unusual for a lot of stylists, but Carol really works with me and my aesthetic visions, all the while giving me a cut that I can style for more conventional settings. She can craft a high fashion cut for me that, with the right amount of paste and blowdrying, can be tamed into something I can wear when I'm teaching. Watching her work on hair is nothing short of magical. Her shop is beautiful and chock full of good vibes. It is in a convenient location with a lot of parking, also. Carol cultivates an environment that is professional as well as friendly. She sells high-quality, cruelty-free products for hair and nails, as well as beautiful jewelry and seasonal gifts. I currently live out of state, but whenever I am back in town, I make a point to have Carol do her magic on my locks. There is just no one else like her, no one who can match her phenomenal talent.
