I stopped by with a party of 5, and we were quickly seated. Despite the restaurant being busy and there being only one server, she did a good job being as attentive as she could. Most of my problems had to do with the kitchen. Me and two others in my party ordered the Buffalo Mac and cheese. Another ordered the beef tacos. Basically nothing came out super hot. My Mac and cheese had several bites that were straight up cold. The food came out fast, so i don't think our waitress left it sitting out. But because some bites were cold, I do wonder if the noodles came out of a frozen bag. The beef tacos were also cold. They remade the tacos, so that was good, but the were a bit bland. They did not have enough of the noodles left, so they could not remake the Buffalo Mac and cheese. However they asked me to pick something else. I went with the boneless wings. Those came out very hot and they were very good. It was just a very unfortunate start to the beginning of dinner. read more

This is a small diner like establishment, focused more on food quality than appearances. The restaurant was very clean, but you can see they are trying to save money by not making it look perfect. It's more like home. Will never be perfect, or Homes and Garden ready, but its home, perfect the way it is. I had the scallop plate (one of many blackboard specials). Portion was very large and they were cooked to perfection, definitely tasted fresh and not Sysco frozen. Dad (92) stuck with Chicken Tenders which he DEVOURED. Thought we'd be taking 1/2 of it home, he doesn't usually eat much, they must have been delicious. We are just visiting, he lives here, I'm sure they will be seeing him often. Son (19) had the burger with bacon, the little I saw of it it looked perfectrly done.. I caught a glimpse before he inhaled it. All of our fries were done to perfection, slightly overcooked to make a crispy outside and awesome inside. They all disappeared pretty quick too. I've been here a million times. I love it every time. There is something for everyone. Burgers, quesadillas, salads, seafood. Always a lot of nice locals around. Can get a little loud later at night on weekends with the regular bar drinkers and the small space, but definitely a go to spot. Patio is open all summer which is nice with kids and dogs! They are accommodating, will fix any mistakes no problem, (there is a custom tip option when paying with the hand held no need to leave 30% if you can't afford it) service is great, tons of smiling faces and joksters, owners often in the dining area interacting with customers. read more

This restaurant has many positives and negatives. However, the positives are so strong that it pushes my rating to five stars. This truly is a seafood jewell in the north country. On the positive side, the fried seafood is wonderful and the portions are large. On top of that, the prices are low in our opinion. For our fried seafood platter, we could not purchase the seafood at our local grocery store for the $34 it cost us. Our seafood was lightly breaded and fried perfectly. My wife, who is the biggest critic of restaurant food, said it tasted like the seafood came out of the ocean this morning. It consisted of a large piece of haddock, large shrimp, sea scallops, and whole belly clams. All of this was on a bed of fried onion rings. We feel this was better than similar dishes from our favorite seafood restaurants on the coasts of NH and ME. Now for the negatives. No one working at the restaurant wore a mask. They had signs strongly recommending that customers wear masks and most of us did. I know wearing a mask while frying seafood is not pleasant. However, we would like to see the person taking our order and the person giving us the food wear masks. Another negative was the facilities. It's a really old building. It was clean, but still not very attractive. We chose to eat outside and that was fine. Finally, the onion rings were onion strings. Those are not our favorite and they should have told us about them when we ordered. As I said before, a seafood restaurant should serve great food, a lot of it, at a great price. This one hit a home run with all of that. We will gladly overlook the few negatives we encountered in exchange for great food. We will be back. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is an absolute must! We came up to the area from Western Mass for the ice castles and stopped in for dinner. The waitstaff was friendly and on top of everything. Steak tips are A-amazing. I had the Southwest shrimp salad which was great as well. Would come back hands down. read more

Went to their new restaurant in woodsville. Generous portions, the boneless Buffalo wings and Mac and cheese were to die for! Prices were reasonable, and the staff was attentive, kind and friendly. Will definitely go back!!! read more

Had really high hopes for the place based on the reviews. Arrived at 4:55PM on a Monday the place was 80% empty and it's TINY, maybe 10 tables? Was seated right away with a party of 5. At 5:10 the waitress came back and asked for our drink order. At 5:20 she came back with the drinks, 2 mixed and 3 beers, at this point we had to ask for menus. At 5:30 she came to take our order and announced no whole belly clams or shrimp. The clams were the only reason we were there. At 6PM 3 of us were served and 10 minutes later the other two fried plates were served. What we did order was OK, I personally found the batter on the fried oysters too salty, my sister didn't like the scallops but the other 3 meals, Chicken fingers & 2 fish & Chips were decent. Would never go back with such service. BY THE WAY many reviews show pics of lobster ... no lobster on any menu. Time to try Mikey's again for some fried clams. read more

Lobster grilled cheese was one of the best things I've ever eaten! I hesitated due to the cost but it was worth every penny!

Went there today no haddock so Wife and I had Scallop dinner and food was great but price a little high at $33.00 each. Food was done well, and Scallops were fresh but now comes the pay out on their little hand machine they use gives you a choice of % tip 20% 33% or 35% and wife had to pick one she did not see where you could change it, so they got what they said was standard tip 20% so was $15.00 so I think that is a RIP OFF I never paid a 15.00 tip in my life also I do not believe the waitress gets all that $15.00. If you ordered a hamburger and fries you pay a 20% tip? Will not go there again or recommend the place to anyone my daughter has been there and said prices were a little high but did not say they had a standard tip that I guess you cannot refuse. I guess it's a place you need to wear a tuxedo. Two scallop dinners $90.23. Also need to let you know, no prices on menu they had you. read more

They nail classic New England "dairy bar" favorites: crispy hand cut fries, creative burgers, or on the weekends splurge on fresh local seafood. My favorites the homemade jalapeno poppers: unique, spicy, creamy & crispy! They round out the menu with diner comfort foods (spaghetti & meatballs, mac & cheese, specials like meatloaf) which i'm sure I'll be trying once it gets colder- they sell out of these often which is a good sign but eat early if that's what you want! Friendly skillful staff too, it's already becoming a hang out for morning coffee or at the small bar for a cocktail. Disclaimer: I live nearby, so i'm not impartial.
