    NY Strip steak
    Bill S.

We were very pleased with our recent dinner experience here. The food was good, so was the beer, so was our server (mostly), and so was the outdoor patio seating. We liked the Green State Lager, not too hoppy and very smooth to the taste. The French Onion soup arrived with an enormous chunk of cheese on top that was delightful and some chopped onions that were rather bland. Our entrees included the NY Strip, cooked rare as we asked, and Chicken Parmesan, quite a good conflation of tastes with the parmesan not overdone. Downside: our server was attentive but neglected to mention the cost of the steak ($50) before we ordered. Otherwise, as we mentioned, this was a welcome dinner.

This was my first time at Salt Bistro. The wait staff was very nice and we made a reservation in advance. Drinks were fabulous and the food was tasty. I'm excited that another good place has opened up locally and next to the distillery is perfect for pre-drinks then dinner! There were two things I would have changed. A ton of apps were out of stock when we were planning on ordering them. Second, the Shrimp Fra Diavlo is typically a red sauce with some spicy red pepper flakes. However, it was served with whole slices of jalapeños. It was wildly over spicy and not normally an ingredient served with this dish. This was also the case for two other dishes. However, this should not deter you from checking it out! The lamb bolognese was INCREDIBLE and I will return just for that.

    Old fashioned

Ice cold local drafts. Asked for crispy wings, cooked perfectly. Special was scallop risotto with small bits of bacon, so it didn't taste like bacon risotto. The seared scallops - on point and very sweet. Accompanied by grilled brussels sprouts. Excellent choice. There should be a line out the door at this place. Best kept secret from what I can see. I'm not one to leave reviews. This is literally my first Yelp review after many years of business travel throughout the U.S.

Everybody I interacted with - greeter, waiter, food runners, etc. - were friendly, neat, and professional, which along with the great food made a memorable dining experience. I had no trouble making a 6:00 Saturday reservation earlier that day but it did fill up while I was there so it was probably needed. Though there were some seats that remained open at the bar, so walk-ins might be accommodated there. It was a nice bar, with a very pretty stained glass table lamp on the counter and a very cool-looking bartender adding flair to the otherwise conservatively-attired staff. The menu is extensive and very Turkish. Even the wine list: every wine that I checked was Turkish. I know nothing about Turkish wine but the one I did try (many available by the glass) was enjoyable. I tried a cocktail too; a Turkish Cosmo, made with a Turkish pomegranate syrup. This was good too, tangy and not too sweet. For beers they offer ones from Turkey, Vermont, Mexico, and Connecticut. I was happy not to see any major American brands offered. I don't usually comment on prices, but they seemed slightly on the low side here, for everything: drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I am not complaining! I started with the Cold Meze Platter appetizer, recommended for 2. (Too much for 1 so I took some home.) Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Turkish Salsa, Hadari, and Stuffed Grape Leaves. Everything was very good, and the fresh-baked still-warm hadari bread it was served with was perfect with it. The Baba Ganoush was exceptional, chunky in texture and smoky in flavor. From the very extensive entree section I chose the Surf and Turf: skewers of swordfish and lamb, the latter cooked to order (it came out a perfect medium-rare as requested). The skewers, which also had green pepper and onions, was served with rice, bulghur, grilled tomato, a lemon wedge, and a salad of cabbage and pickled onions. Both the swordfish and lamb were marinated and had lots of flavor. The sides were good too. The portion size was generous and I didn't quite finish it, taking the rest of it home along with some of the appetizer. After finishing my entree and my wine, and taking in the ambience of this relaxing, blue-walled space, it was time for dessert. Among the 8 choices (a refreshingly large number) were 3 kinds of baklava. I went with the Fistikli Çikolata (chocolate, pistachio, and hazelnut) If, like me your experience with baklava has mostly been the junk found on the counter of numerous pizza houses (stale, dry, and overly sweet) this is nothing like that and will change your opinion. The three pieces made a fairly large portion but it was so good there was no question of leaving any behind. This was also offered with Turkish ice cream but I didn't get it that way. Many more things to try here. I hope to return soon.

Dips were delicious and even got an extra pita for them, chicken skewers were so juicy. Even the…read morestuffed grape leaves were just so good and everything felt homemade and a slightly different take from typical. Service was so warm too, would definitely come again!

My husband had the Lemon Chicken with Lemon Potatoes. I was excited about getting the Gyro Platter because the beef and Lamb was sliced off the spit. If you've ever had a GOOD Gyro, you know it has to be from the spit. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that has the spit and not the pre-sliced pre-packaged frozen gray imposter gyro meat! The Gyro meat at Yamas was EXCELLENT. My first visit I asked for souvlaki which is a traditional meat dish served on skewers. What I got was tough bits of meat that were flavorless and unlike any souvlaki I had in Greece. Second visit I gave them a chance with a gyro. They served slices of gyro meat spread around a plate with quarters of pita. French fries were cold and were covered by everything else. Hardly a Greek meal. Only positive was the Tzatziki which wasn't included as part of the gyro. Sorry folks. I was hoping for a Greek experience and only got decorations. Please do something before people give up on you like I have. Greek food has meaning. Try Gold House in Littleton if you would like a lesson.

Everything we had was delicious and even the picky eaters (grandpa/kids) found something they like. The owners/chefs at Zaytoona come from Jordan and Yemen I believe and the cuisine is an eclectic and unique mix of middle eastern food with some of the classics like kebabs, shawarma, falafel, lentil soup, and Kafta. My kids actually loved the lentil soup, but our fav. pre-main was the Muhammara although I wish they had given more pita bread to match the amount of sauce that comes with it. We tried the fatoush and rocca salads and while both were good, we preferred the latter. For mains we shared the mixed lamb and beef shawarma, lamb shish kabab (we had wanted to try the special slow cooked lamb shank but they were all out and the waiter said the shish kebab was just as good), and the fries. Everything was tasty and fairly priced. For deserts we shared the saffron cake, mango coconut like pudding, and my fav, the kunafa. The latter reminded me of a very crispy, perfect blend of salt and sweet mozzarella stick and was so so good. The pomegranate lemonade helped wash it down and I liked the tangy sourness of it. Our kids enjoyed the special mango drink. Service was prompt here and staff were friendly. The ambiance was great here and seating area is more upscale than I expected. Glad that this place exists in the Burlington area and I would love to come back.

The oil was infused with lots of crushed garlic, which left the oil itself so fragrant and tasting of garlic. Perfection. I ordered a Greek Salad with some grilled chicken added. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and their Margherita pizza. The Greek salad was magnificent... beautiful presentation, huge salad and lots of wonderful ingredients (mixed greens, marinated artichoke hearts, chickpeas, red onion, Greek olives, feta cheese and roasted red peppers), all of which I love. I always get it with Caesar dressing, just my preference, and I'm always glad I do. Their Caesar dressing was particularly delicious to add to the enjoyment of the salad. What was even a greater surprise was how much I LOVED my husband's pizza. He always offers me a slice, and I usually take one bite and say thank you. This pizza was so freaking good, I ate the entire slice. It was amazing. I think it was the pizza sauce because that pizza style usually is boring to me. This was AMAZING. We enjoyed the mussels gauzzetto and calamari fritti. The Mediterranean chicken was well prepared and tasty. We suspect you need reservations for prime dining hours on a weekend. The decor feels a little dated but the food is great. We can forgive the $2 for a quarter loaf of bread because it's only a few dollars and the bread was fresh and served with garlic oil, not like overpriced $10-$12 Parker House Rolls, but it's not a good trend to charge for bread. Service was good until we wanted to pay our bill - that took a little bit. We'll happily return.
