I was driving through town for work & this great spot popped up in my search of something tasty. I ordered the Ruben with onion rings. The rings were perfect & the sandwich toppings were spot on, only thing I'd say was that the meat was a bit tough. But the service & the dessert made up for it! I am from Indiana, but travel to NH a couple times a year and have always eaten here at least once each trip, since I've never been disappointed in their tasty food. However, this visit was exceptionally different enough to not warrant my driving from Lincoln to Woodsville for another meal. Because I arrived on July 3rd, ten minutes before their 4 pm dinner menu, instead of being able to order scallops from their 4 pm dinner menu without waiting, I ordered their lunch menu shrimp, mandarin orange,avocado salad ($17). At 4 I received my plate with nice, juicy shrimp; but also with only a few, bitter, thinly sliced cucumber chunks, 5 small mandarin slices and experienced a serious treasure-hunt for the couple teeny ,thinly sliced avocado pieces. Huge disappointment! The only positive was the pleasant waitress. It is probable there is new management or even new chef, but there was no excuse for a 'chintzy' salad..at $17, no less! I doubt I'll waste my time returning, since competition in these beautiful White Mountains is fiercely competitive. Disappointing. read more

Worst restaurant experience of my life. I was honestly baffled when i walked out. As a vegetarian, i always ask for the protein on a side plate so my boyfriend can happily enjoy it. When i ordered the chicken broccoli Alfredo i was informed that the kitchen goes through too much chicken to waste it so it was either have the dish with the chicken or without. They refused to put it on a side plate. I then asked "well im paying for the chicken so if i dont get the chicken, can i get a reduced price?" I was told yes and later was declined the discount and had to pay full price for the chicken THAT I COULDNT GET. Our friends went with us and one of them ordered the cajun chicken dish. His chicken was not cooked completely- we brought this up to our waiter and he said that the chicken was cooked to temp and another table got the same chicken and "they cleaned their plate". We never got an apology rather we were told we were wrong. My boyfriend's hamburger tasted freezer burnt and was cooked medium rare when he ordered it medium well. TO END IT ALL there was a credit card fee that we were never informed about when our bill was paid. Our entire experience was one we had never encountered... when we were walking out we expressed our concerns to the other party walking through the door and they turned around and went elsewhere. I genuinely don't understand how this place is in business. Please never support this business. read more

YUM YUM YUM! That is what I have to say about everything I tried here. The restaurant was a pretty decent size but they seemed to only have one side open as it was pretty quiet when we went. The service was nice as everyone in there was friendly, especially our server (sad I didn't catch her name). I started with a cup of the seafood chowder and my first reaction was "holy crap that's a cup?!" Because the portion was pretty big. The chowder was delicious and the perfect consistency. It had so much seafood and great flavor and was steaming hot when it was served to us which is exactly what I needed as a native Floridian. I had the CBLT as my main dish because I was sold on the pretzel roll and chose my favorite food, French fries, as my side. The CBLT was very good and served with a house sauce instead of mayo. I should've asked for more of it on the side because I love my sauce but truly the sandwich was delicious as is. The fries oh the fries were one of my favorites. They were cooked to a perfect crisp and didn't even need any dipping sauce. My husband got the Reuben and I honestly can't decide which sandwich I liked better because they were both so good. My sister got the bbq pulled pork sandwich and it too looked very good, especially that Texas toast bun. All in all everyone was pleased and I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. I'd love to go back to try their breakfast but have no idea If or when I'll be back to NH. They do have a full bar and LOTS of desserts that we were too full to try but sounded amazing. read more

Was hoping for so much better. Service was good, our waitress was very nice. We had popcorn shrimp for an app; tiny frozen breaded nuggets arrived almost instantly. Entrees: wife ordered scallops alfredo over pasta. She had indigestion and an upset stomach before we got home. I ordered the nigh's special; peppercorn ribeye. Truly an awful cut of beef, the fat and tendons engulfed fully 1/3 of the steak. Lower quality than a choice cut from a marginal supermarket. I mentioned it to our waitress, and pointed out the amount of inedible 'meat' that was left on my plate and she said she would mention it to the cook. There croissant breakfast sandwich is light fluffy and buttery, and the sauce on top takes it a step further than just a breakfast sandwich. We were going to be in Woodsville, so I was searching yelp for reviews on somewhere good to eat. Shiloh's got some excellent reviews, and for good reason! Shiloh is also our pup's name, so that helped influence the decision to go there. We got there around noon on a Saturday and they weren't busy, so we were seated immediately. Our server, Clarice was chipper and helpful. One of the reviews on yelp raved about the croissant with egg, bacon, hollandaise sauce, tomato, and chives (thank you, whoever you are!) This was served with homefries that were cooked to perfection - just short of what some would call burned. It was so delicious, but I just couldn't finish it all and I was stomach growling hungry when we went in. I'm glad I went with the recommendation, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make up my mind because there were so many yummy options. My husband got the happy camper, which he got with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and homefries. He is super fussy, but he raved about everything and ate it all. Breakfast is his favorite meal and they serve it all day long. The bacon is awesome, a lot of places serve bacon that doesn't really taste like bacon, but Shiloh's is the real deal. All this food, an Arnold Palmer, and an iced tea and our bill was $ 19.95! I couldn't believe what a great deal. We will definitely go back - and more than once! read more

Had dinner there, 4 people, the service couldn't have been better, thats the best I can say about the place. We didn't have high expectations, and the food didn't reach that level. The ribeye steak was not a fresh cut, looked frozen, and had way too much fat, about a forth of it, and too many tendons throughout. Worst ribeye ever! The Haddock Bruchetta, was not fresh, it had not set enough to dry, so it had a watery consistency to it, and the bruchetta toppings also didn't seem very fresh. The two Salmon dishes were ok at best. All plates came with a serving of corn with diced red pepper that looked and tasted like it was from a bag of Birdseye or some other bulk container of corn. Went here with 11 hungry guys and were not dissapointed. We called ahead 20 minutes before showing up and had a table all set up and ready to go. We had a super nice waitress who got all the orders correct, even with some tough customers. Everything was delicious. The portions were huge, and the price was right. For 8 bucks I got a great 8 oz steak with 2 eggs sunny side up, and delicious oat toast. Verrrry good. This place is kind of a diamond in the rough in the area. Everything was very well put together. The plates and flatware were even cool. Oh, and +1 for pulp free OJ. If I find myself in the area again, this is where I would go for breakfast. Four of us went to dinner on a Saturday night. Arrived around 6 and the place was fairly full but they seated us immediately. Beer served in frosty glasses and the huge sandwiches were made on homemade bread. I had a turkey Ruben which came with a choice of onion rings, fries, or mashed. Onion rings were cut a little large for my taste, but the Ruben was delicious. The turkey club was too big for my big cousin to eat, and my wife's Arizona open faced sandwich was large and very good. First off: The decor. Holy moly. I felt like I was eating at Grandma's house. And not hipster grandma, either. Like, born pre-1900 grandma. The walls were dark, dark green, with ugly purple floral curtains and creepy antique-like plates hanging on the walls. The floor was that fake fast-food chain style of wood. They could have done a much better job with the aesthetics. Onto the food! I had a Turkey Reuben, which really should have been called a RACHEL, which is exactly what it is. The bread was crumbly and stale, maybe anadama? It was gross and burnt. My fries tasted like they'd been taken from the freezer and dumped in a vat of old grease. They were too crispy and looked like burnt fingers, not French fries. They weren't yellow or gold. They were brown and dark orange, like a smoker's teeth. Disgusting. The lettuce in the "cole slaw" was old and limp. It had some weird pink smear of sauce which they passed as "Thousand Island Dressing". Seriously doubt it. The prices are high for the quality you are getting. I liked my soda, though, because it wasn't made there. Food was gross, service was mediocre, prices were high, decor was ghastly. Won't be back ever. Best place to eat in Woodsville is Sunny Garden. read more
