I think this retail center is good if you have mild loss, but probably not for higher loss than that. Each technician will hold the h aid up to their ear. When you get a great technician, worth it if you can book again with them. But I've had issues with understanding people speaking for over a year and technicians can't fix it. Streaming and zoom calls are good but not great. I went for a consult elsewhere and found out if you can hear streaming or calls but not people unless they are in front of you two feet away- it's a microphone issue. I'll make an appointment at Miracle Ear since my h aids are still under warranty and let them know what I need fixed. I'll follow up on the review with the results

I can confidently say custom earplugs are much more comfortable than the generic ones you find on Amazon or at Guitar Center. At Soundscape Audiology, you can even choose the colors, so it's easy to tell which earplug goes where. They also come with a zippered carrying case and a cleaning brush. My husband - musician ear plugs; me - swimming ear plugs. The procedure for getting molds of our ears made was fairly fast, not uncomfortable (just a slightly weird sensation), and the ear plugs were ready to pick up in 2 weeks. As someone who generally does not like having my ears plugged, these custom swim plugs (different colors too, to identify R and L!) have been a revelation. They are really snug and comfortable, don't fall out, don't let water in, allow me to still hear some sound, and I was told that they also float if they should fall into the pool. I haven't tested this. I highly recommend Soundscape Audiology! It was very easy to make appointments. Dr Thakkar was great - he explained everything very clearly and we felt safe and assured throughout the whole process. Note: no credit card payment. We paid by venmo.

That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.
