Today I tried to exchange (not return) a pair of unworn pants. I had removed the tags because I typically wear the same size, but having lost a few pounds, I tried these on and they were a bit roomy. I don't have a local Torrid so while traveling I brought them two weeks after buying hoping for a size down exchange. They refused despite me having exchanged multiple items in the past in similar circumstances. They have no real policy in place. I've returned and/or exchanged multiple items without tags over the years with no issues at all. If they had been consistent about this over the years I would be less bothered by it, but having had successful returns in the past, I'm frustrated with their lack of customer service. The pants were unworn and undamaged, just missing tags. I would have even paid a restocking fee for the tags. I have spent thousands of dollars a year at this store but now that I know my store loyalty isn't worth an exchange for a $45 pair of pants they will never see another dollar from me.

However, I still find Torrid overpriced for the quality of the clothing and find the clothes cut small in the bust, making most outfits not fit for me. But their Noir collection of pants are the best looking and most comfortable I have found, and I occasionally find a cute dress here too. Kind of hit or miss on the fit and always have to try it on - unlike a brand like Calvin Klein, Michael Korda, etc that is consistent in cut and fit.

Prices are comparable to Target and the difference is only the array of selection. Often there are miss matched items. This is part of the fun at shopping at Home goods. After telling me what size I am, they sent me a list of bras that would fit best. They were out of quite a bit of the bras I looked at, but I ended up finding two I wanted to try. They were on back order, but they sent me a quick email to let me know approximately how long I'd be waiting. It took a couple of weeks, but I received the bras today and I was blown away with how well they fit! No more issues with popping out of the top of the cup! They were also so comfy! I didn't know a bra could be so comfy! I still think at some point I'll physically go in for a bra fitting just to make sure I have the right size, but for now I'm extremely happy!

I went to the Centerville Utah store to return an Amazon purchase. The information for the return…read moresaid that any Kohl's associate could handle. I didn't see any signage for returns so went to the checkout area which is where all of the associates were. While I was in line at the checkout, the people behind me were talking about how they didn't see how this location stayed in business because there were no shoppers. When I finally got to the front of the line which took about 10 minutes, I was told to take my return to the back of the store. Again, no signage about where to take returns. I went to the back and found an area for returns although no signage to indicate it was for returns. As I was standing in line again, a woman walked over to a register that appeared closed and stood there looking at me. She didn't say next or indicate that she was open for business. She then looked at me and said in a sarcastic tone, are you ready? I responded to her sarcastic tone with are you ready? It is evident why this store or Kohl's will be going out of business soon. They have gone the way of Kmart; terrible or nonexistent customer service.

In any mall or mall-like entity like Station Park, some stores seem to blend into each other: The…read morewomen's frou-frou frou-frou boutique (Claire's, Francesca's, Hope Ave, etc.); the women's reasonably priced clothes and accessories (Maurices, Evereve, Lane Bryant, etc.); the outdoor store; the shoe stores with a little other stuff store (Nike, Famous Footwear, etc.); the accessories-centric store (Charming Charlie), the candle-centric knick-knack shop (Bungalow Blue), and so on. In the case of Tully's, it seems to blend in with the Van's and Nike store (because it actually also sells Van's and Nike's), and the Zumiez at Station Park -- as well as stores like PacSun, Urban Outfitters, etc. and other malls because of it is cool-boy and young-man, skate-centric clothes and brands. For similarish stores, having something that sets it apart -- such as strong discount prices or a unique core element -- helps vault it out of mediocrity. In the case of Tilly's, I really don't see that unique element. Let's focus on the positive ... Tilly's has A LOT of stuff. First of all, they have almost as many Van's t-shirts than at the Van's store and, oddly enough, some originals you won't even find at the big V. There are also plenty of options from brands like Levis, North Face, Quicksilver, Billabong, Volcom, DC, Fox, Roxy, Hurley, and Etnies. And if you like more casual-ware, you'll find a lot: t-shirts, hoodies, graphic tees and sweatshirts, shoes, penny boards and other skateboards, shorts and board shorts, backpacks, accessories (a lot of wallets, sunglasses, and watches) ... and that probably just scratches the surface. The prices are a bit high, but it's a pretty good selection of clothes worth checking out.
