I emailed Janie & Jack customer service after a zipper ripped off of a zip-up sweater that we purchased for my son last year. Let me be clear, he has worn this clothing item ONE TIME since it was purchased last December (2024). We washed it and followed all instructions (gentle cycle, tumble dry low) and the zipper still ripped off and is so damaged that it's not possible to repair it. The sweater is no longer usable which is why I reached out to them via email. I was asked for my customer information such as name, order number, etc. I provided this info. I was then told that since the clothing item was purchased "quite some time ago" that there was nothing they could do. I spent $60 on this half zip only for it to break after one wear/wash. I am incredibly disappointed in the lack of support from their customer service department but also in the obvious poor quality/craftsmanship of their clothing. It's cheaply made while being outrageously priced. Apparently 10 months is "quite some time" according to them and customers shouldn't wash items from them since they just fall apart so easily. I feel like Janie and Jack has gone down hill. I placed an order for a family vacation, which I spent a lot of money on, and never received my package. The customer service was awful only offering free shipping on my next order, and could not reship my order. I felt like I was not heard or offered anything as a valued customer. With the introduction of Qualyn into this store's team, she has brought such a refreshing presence. Staff are helpful and not snarky when returning items. My daughter loves to come in and she's always greeted with such warmth - always an extra plus for me. Since Gap has purchased the Janie and Jack stores, their policies have become more flexible. Quality has shifted a little but for the prices, I can deal with that. I'll definitely continue to shop here! read more

The staff here always try to deny return from customer. I returned my daughter's skirt because it's too big on her. The manager insisted saying it's washed and worn since the waist was bended. My daughter just tried it on several minutes, no wash and the skirt looks the same as it looked in the store when I bought it. I asked her that she could compare with other skirts in the store to see but she refused to do that and constantly said that I read the return policy. I bought many items here for my daughter, the store doesn't have fitting room to try on. And when you return, they will say the cloth looks like it's worn. How sly it is for this kind of customer service. I won't never return to this store. read more

Wanted to refund my order before it came, tell me to wait four days until it came and I waited four days and the order status changed to fulfilled and when I checked it, it said it was delivered and it had a picture of the package and apartment and I do live at an apartment, but that was not my apartment complex office it wasn't near where it was and I went to my apartment office and the filed a missing report and they said that they haven't gotten any packages missing or seen yet and when I tried to talk to customer service they said they couldn't do anything because it was already delivered and then I reported it to the police, but I already reported it and the next day when I tried to talk to customer service again. They ended the chat on me. I don't see the point in having customer service if you're not willing to help in any situation or if you're not able to refund anything after placing an order even if you don't want it anymore or even if it's missing at all. I was visiting from another state and purchased a gift for my granddaughter who resides in another state. The store did not have the correct size so the clerk ordered it on line for me. The next day, I received an email with a notification of a 25% discount promotion on that item. I contacted the Burlingame store to request a price adjustment and was advised by their store manager that the only way I could take advantage of that offer was to bring the item back to any Janie and Jack store during the promotional sale weekend. The gift has not arrived and it will not be possible for a return this week. Because of this unsatisfactory response, I contacted the main customer service number and was advised that they were sorry, but they could not make an adjustment. They suggested that I could purchase another dress with the promotion information and return the originally purchased item, thus creating an inconvenience for the gift recipient . This suggestion was not a reasonable alternative. Janie and Jack have unique merchandise, but with that kind of customer service, it is difficult to consider future purchases. Janie and Jack appear to be only interested in Janie and Jack and not their customers as evidenced by the number of unfavorable reviews posted. I bought a jumpsuit for my daughter (on Jan 5th, 2021) which we returned because of the big size for that they refunded my amount again I purchased (on 8th Jan, 2021) same dress but the dress has some minor defects so I returned that as well I shipped that dress to Janie and Jack they took our dress but they didn't refunded my amount I called to Janie and Jack customer service people they keep on telling that it will take some time for processing. Its August till we didn't get our money its just $75 but we decided not to purchase anything from Janie and Jack. Worst Janie and Jack customer service ever. read more

My review for this shop is gonna be basically the same as the one for Redmond Town Center, because my experience has been basically the same. Janie and Jack is great! Their shop is super cute and the people working there are very nice. Their clothes/baby accessories feel great, they look like they are made of quality materials, and they are always adorable. This is a great place to get presents. When they wrap the gifts up, the gift boxes are super pretty and look expensive, and the same goes for the shopping bag. But I generally can get out of there for about twenty bucks (if I don't go for whole outfits, and just stick to separates and accessories). There used to be a pottery barn kids in Bel square which was great for the same purpose, but I think they closed, so if that's the case, then Janie and Jack is the best place for baby/young kids presents at bel square. read more

We tried to purchase a number of items that were on 'sale' only to be informed the pricing was incorrect and it was actually 2.5 times what was stated. Simply wanted to use the bathroom in the store while shopping there and used the bathroom in the back that was not marked with any signs stating customers couldn't use it. One of the employees freaked out and very rudely said the bathroom was employees only even after I apologized. She continued to make rude and unnecessary remarks to my face I was leaving the store and even began repeating those remarks to the other employees who also began speaking in a similar way. Then she threatened to call security on me as I attempted to object to what she was saying. Worst customer service I have ever experienced and would definitely not recommend shopping there, additionally the behavior of the employees caused the store to lose me as a customer for good. read more

I placed an order (order #J05035668) on 6/8/23 for my son's baptism on 6/25/23. I this a blazer, shirt, pants and socks. The shirt, pants, and socks were going to come in one package and the blazer was going to come in another package. All fours items were indicated as fulfilled and I was charged for all four items. The shirt, pants, and socks arrived but not the blazer, so I called the company on 6/17/23, that is when I was told they blazer was canceled. So an item was canceled, I was told it was fulfilled, charged, and never told that items was canceled. Nothing was resolved on 6/17/23. I called again on 6/19/23 and was given a refund for the blazer but now I am suck with the other parts of the suit and was told on this phone call I would get a return label sent to me. I never received that label. I called a third time on 6/20/23 and was told it will take several days to get the label because so many others customers are in this same situation. The two big issues for me are 1) now I have to spend more money getting another outfit rush shipped from another retailer and 2) the company policy is to NEVER let a customer talk to a supervisor EVER. I was told this on all three phone calls. If I did not follow up, I would never have known the item was cancelled. The fact the customer can never have access to a supervisor under any circumstance is a major issue. This is a company that will charge your credit card, put nothing in the mail, and then will deny you the opportunity to speak with anyone who can rectify the situation. Also, I am very concerned they will not accept my returns because removed all the tags and package because I was told the blazer was in the mail. read more

I was at a retail store trying to get matching clothes for my daughters for Easter pictures I wanted to take could find the dress in the store for my 9 year old so the woman working there was going to order me she said let ring you up for the other items then we order the dress. I said ok, she call the store supervisor cause she didn't know how to do the transaction. the supervisor came and helped her my husband paid with his arm card when i got the receipt I realized that she had ordered the dress to the address I had on file without asking me if that was the correct addres. I let her know that's not my address she says is your fault you don't have the correct address the supervisor jumps into the conversation and says "I m sorry do you know someone in the house that could save you the package" I said no then "she asked me if I could to the house to get the package " I said no that house was 1 hour away. Then she said I can't cancel the transaction. well to make the stolet short she call someone to help her cancel and she was able to cancel the transactio. I ended up reordering the dress to the new addres. they cancel the transaction the next day because it was out of stock and I'm still waiting for my money to be refunded to my debit card as well as my husband. every time I call they tell me it takes a month for me to get refunded. My Janie and jack order was NOT received to my address, I have been trying to track the shipment via UPS and then USPS and it has been a whole mess. The package have been lost during shipment and nobody give me a good reason. This store has cute clothing that's well made. As for the cost of their items, their customer service, and the return policy they have in place: DONT SHOP HERE. I am a new mom, purchased a dress my daughter didn't wear and went into the store to return it. I was told that because I didn't have my debit card the dress was purchased with they couldn't do my return. So I attempted to come back a while later with the correct card when I was told I would only get less than half of what I originally paid. I understand that since I was beyond the number of days allowed, i would maybe only get store credit and was fine with that. Instead, the sales lady accused me of never coming in prior, that they never need a card to process a return and told me that 60 days was a really long time for me to get my returns done. Let me tell you that 60 days is NOT that long when you're a new mom, from a different city trying to make a second trip to a store that already sent you away. I will NEVER shop here again after being accused of lying and being treated like they don't value the business. read more

Terrible customer service -- I don't care how many times you say "I'm sorry" it is meaningless if you don't fix the problem. My 88 year old mother was in the hospital this weekend, and with my help, she ordered a 3 piece outfit for her 7 month old grandniece. The order was accepted and acknowledge. Two days later, they cancel the pants as no longer available. I call immediately and instruct to cancel the whole order -- its a coordinated outfit. Instead of doing that, they are still charging for the top and sweater and say if we want to return, we can mail it back -- placing the onus and time it takes on US - on my 88 year old mother and those that help her. NEVER AGAIN will we purchase from Janie and Jack. *It got worse. I went to the website and was able to order the pants. This all happened on the same day, with 2 phone calls and 3+ emails. Went in to do a return and the old lady at the count was on her private phone. She was just giving me this look the whole time she was on her phone so I said I need to do a return and then she decided to get off her phone. Honestly it was one of the rudest customer service moves I've ever dealt with. So then she opens my bad and goes you need to take everyone out of the shopping packaging and said oh I didn't know, I was just told you bring it back with the package and she said "no, take it out of the packaging"... like this lady really wanted me yo take it out of the packages before she started my return so I just looked at her and said can I speak to a manager she said I am the manager. So then when she started my returns she said she wouldn't return the dresses because the little diaper lining wasn't connected... I asked her how are you suppose to try the dress on the child and she said "I don't know, that's not my issue it's our return policy". Long story short, I called customer service and they did the return no problem. Love this store! It has gorgeous "special occasion" clothes for children 0-8 yrs. I would give it 5 stars but it is a little on the pricey side (unless you're one of the wealthy eastsiders). Their little girl outfits are as cute as the get and quality is great. They do have some great sales (their website usually has more than the store). I ordered a holiday dress, matching socks and shoes for my daughter. The estimate was that they would be delivered well in time for Christmas. I was surprised to hear that the order status changed a week later to canceled for the dress and the socks. No explanation was given. I complained and the response was that this was an atypical situation and they offered free shipping on my next order (when there wasn't going to be a next order). My next message was that the shipping on the shoes was delayed. Can anything else go wrong on a simple order? Meanwhile I ordered over 30 items from Amazon and every single one was delivered before Christmas. First of all I'd like to start by saying that I love the brand:good quality and cute design. Unfortunately, the customer service is horrible. As it is quite an expensive store, it's never been full, unless for those times when I was there. However, the sales people there do not pay any attention to you, not only when you come in... but when you stand next to them and ask a question... Today, I had the worst experience ever! I asked a question standing right besides one of the representatives-she ignored me, I said "excuse me, could I please ask you a question?" She rolled her eyes as if I was annoying her-I was shocked, nevertheless I walked further into the store. Saw another woman decided to clarify which products were on sale:"Excuse me, so there is a sale for 60% to what items?". She looked at me as if I was asking the dumbest question and replied:" It's up to 60%! Not 60% it is written there on that board you should-read it" with an angry voice she replied. I ended up buying 2 items-as I believe not to limit myself because of some people's attitude, they are just not worth it. Went to pay, the store was empty-as it was about to close, had to wait to pay as they were busy doing their staff. While paying I felt like I would really like to speak to their manager, I asked if I could speak to him/her. They told me that she died 2 years ago... I asked who is in charge then? They could not give me an answer, so I asked for their customer service number and their names, if possible. They were laughing while sharing this info, which made me sick! What killed me was when I was leaving the store they told me: " Have a good LIFE!" With sarcasm and laughter. -I wish this company to prosper, -I wish these two will treat people right, or be replaced by someone else, who will. -If you want to experience a good customer service- do not visit this store, as it will upset you to know, that people give you such an unexplained attitude, while you want to spend money there... -I had this experience while being with a friend- no kinds with us... I was trying to return an item and the lady at the checkout was visibly upset and started making racist remarks because it was taking me a little longer to find the receipt. A fellow customer had to intervene after which the lady threatened to call mall cops and security on me! I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received after placing an online order. I initially purchased merchandise intended as a GIFT ... I chose the option to have my purchase placed in a gift box and I included a gift message. The site also indicated that a gift receipt would be included in the gift box with my purchase. I proceeded to submit the order and when I received confirmation, I noticed there was no indication of a gift box, gift receipt or a gift message. I immediately called customer service - within 2 minutes - to voice my concern and requested they edit the order. Initially they said they could edit the order and then the customer service rep got back online and told me that she could not ... which I found puzzling and surprising. Then I requested that the order be canceled since it was not processed correctly. I was told they would submit a cancellation but they could not guarantee that it would go through. I was told to keep checking my email! I do not understand how I was not able to cancel an order that their website incorrectly processed when I called within minutes of placing the order. The next morning I checked my email to see if I had received a response from customer service. At this point I had called, placed an online request and emailed! To my dismay, I discovered that my PayPal account had already completed the purchase. Again I called customer service and the customer service rep confirmed that my account did indeed indicate a request for cancellation from the PREVIOUS day. She proceeded to inform me that the item had been shipped out TODAY and that there was nothing more they could do. This is completely unacceptable! I have never received such poor customer service. If Janie and Jack, Inc professes to be a high end clothing store, than I would expect that to be reflected in their customer service as well. None of what transpired yesterday and today is indicative of that. I am in dismay that I will now have to apologize to my friend and explain why the gift that I intended for her newborn son will not be arriving in a gift box with a gift message as I had intended, but in a factory issued cellophane bag instead! I would have preferred to have given Janie and Jack, Inc. ZERO stars but that option was not available to me ... so I will have to be satisfied with the one star .... although they do not deserve it! read more

I love this store!!! The clothes are classic. Broke my heart when my daughter grew out of this store. Possibly not a better store for stylish boys clothing. I'm actually glad I had another child (a boy) so I can keep shopping here. The service of the staff in the Bellevue Store has been 5 stars over the years as well. First I'd like to say that all of my experiences at the Redmond store has been nothing but positive. I wish I could same the same for the Bellevue location. Sadly I cannot. I have spent thousands at Janie and jack and everytime I'm in the Bellevue store they treat me so poorly it makes me uncomfortable just to be in this store. They watch me like I'm going to steal something. And I've spent a fortune there! The staff is just rude and cold and never offer any help. I went to exchange an item a few months ago because the item was too small on my daughter just to get a bigger size on the same item and they treated me like I was stealing. They accused me of my daughter wearing this item and I showed them that's impossible the tags are still attached and they made sure to get every piece of identification to make sure I didn't continue to return stuff. This was the only time I came back for any kind of exchange and it wasn't even a return! The final straw was today shopping for my daughter and was treated the same cold ways as always but when my daughter ACCIDENTALLY knocked over their metal mannequin they ran over I kept apologizing and picking up items and I was yelled at and they actually waved there hands at me and told me to go away. I was so angry. This is a children's store children have accidents all the time. My daughter was so upset she was sobbing and it took me a while to calm her down. How dare these sales girls treat me and my daughter this way. Aren't they suppose to cater to parents and children?! Yes, the clothes at Janie and jack are gorgeous, but next time if there is a next time I will go to the Redmond store where they treat me as they should helpful and nicely. I don't know if there will be a next time though. For anyone reading this and all the mommies out there that ask I'll tell them to NEVER go to the Bellevue square location. read more
