I've never had a sandwich be so utterly flavorless. Which, given that there was lettuce, sprouts, cucumber, turkey, tomatoes, and avocado, should have had a very fresh, vegetal, and meaty flavor. The only flavor came from the mysteriously sourced bacon bits that reminded me more of hot cheetos/takis than anything. If you have that many 'fresh' fruit/vegetables and it literally does not taste like there are fruit/vegetables, that is POOR QUALITY food! Where in the heck do the veggies come from? Cisco? Yikes, no thanks! Further, their online menu lists if items are gluten free but the menu they have in the restaurant lists NOTHING about allergens. Why would an online menu have more than an in-person one?! This was my first and last time here. I cannot get over the lack of quality of the ingredients. Just...how was there no flavor?! Terrifying. While this place is super clean, bright and tidy, the reason it loses stars for me is that the name doesn't accurately represent the food offered. Smoothies and açaí bowls with loads of sugar, cream-based soups like broccoli cheese and creamy chicken with lots of fat, Have'a corn chips boasting natural ingredients but containing seed oils. The sandwiches seemed wholesome but the vegan bacon bits tasted like pure chemicals. If you stick to strictly vegetarian items you may be in good shape but there are lots of vegan ingredients in their menu options. Vegan is not always better for you (and often highly caloric) because what they use as a substitute for meat and dairy is usually ultra-processed foods like refined oils, isolated proteins, modified food starches and heavy sodium. Probably okay if you ignore the "health bar" part of the restaurant name but I feel like it's misleading if you are really interested in healthy foods. The service was subpar as well. As a vegetarian, I ordered the broccoli soup but they gave me creamy chicken instead. When I went to exchange it, I waited a bit for someone to come over and there was no apology for the mistake. read more

My wife was really craving Jan's, it's one of her go to spots whenever she's in the OC and was happy to see one closer to us. I ordered everything to go since it's a bit of a drive. When we got home and started unpacking the food, my wife asked if there was another bag, her salad was missing the avocado cilantro dressing. She was pretty disappointed, and honestly, I get it. That dressing is one of the best parts of the Jan's classic salad. Driving two hours round trip just for dressing definitely wasn't happening. Everything else tasted great and was up to their usual standard, but missing the dressing kind of took the shine off the meal. Just a bummer after a long drive. read more

It is also high quality ingredients offering more micronutrients. That being said a SNACK SIZE SIX PIECE spring roll is 700 - 800 calories. Taste: the protein açaí bowl was absolutely delicious, the spring roll is their most popular but the tuna salad wasn't appealing after the second piece. I would say I didn't feel like I had a full meal(considering price). Price: you are paying a premium! These two snack size items came out to $32! I think this serves a specific audience.
