This was my time using Japan Airlines out of JFK and it was a very pleaseant and uneventful experience. Well the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I always have difficulty accessing their website. This caused me not to be able to request a window seat, ok and me waiting to the last minute to try and request it had something to do with it too, lol. Nevertheless, to my dismay the flight was full and I was in the middle seat for both flights traveling to my destination for over 20 hours, ugggggghhhh... Thankfully on the return flight home I was able to get two aisle seats. Surprisingly, my middle seat adventure wasnt too bad. Thankfully the seats were roomy, the leg room was bigger than I expected (still having flashbacks of Hawaiian airlines tight ass seat space, but I digress). Customer service was amazing, the airline staff kept smiles on their faces. The food, drinks and snacks flowed regularly, woo hoo. I lovvved those rice crackers and always requested more than 1 and they obliged with a smile. There was plenty of entertainment to keep you busy via your personal TV screens with music, movies, news or games. Now if you pay a bit more well A LOT more than what I did you can enjoy more luxury seating in first class with the seats that recline with leg rest as if you're in bed. Ahhhh one of these days, I will treat myself. :-) I would definitely fly with Japan Airlines again and again.

Bad news: Cathay called me super early in the morning (5:30am!) to inform me that my flight to Tokyo has been canceled due to the engine problem. Great news: Now I get to fly with Japan Airline, one of my favorite airlines!!Talk about blessing in disguise!! Woohooo!!! What I love most about JAL is its meticulous and gracious service from the ticket counter all the way to the cabin. I've flown with many different airlines in my life but JAL always impresses me most with its outstanding quality customer service. It's truly refreshing to be treated so politely and attentively and there's none of those attitude and aggression much too familiar to New Yorkers. Although I prefer Cathay's 45° cubicle seat layout which provides more privacy, the JAL business seat is quite comfortable especially in bed positions. With a down-filled duvet and pillow, I was totally relaxed and fell asleep instantly. Each seat comes equipped with a decent size multifunctional TV, but Cathay has a bigger awesome screen and big DJ headphones that are beyond compare. However, JAL always gets the priority baggage right unlike Cathay, and has the cleanest bathroom! Now, the most important category..... FOOD!!! JAL's inflight meal rocks!!! It's the BEST!!! Just see my photos, they speak for themselves. They are not only beautifully presented, but also sensational!! Make sure you choose Japanese style meal, it's so worth it, trust me!!! The vanilla mousse was EXCELLENT, it melted in my mouth ...mmmmm!!! Jewel-approved!!! JAL offers vast selection of food choices as well as good wines & champagnes and on-demand second meal service is welcome too. I completely pigged out more than I should, and kept going to the snack bar for more new snacks. Check out the chocolate truffles if they are available..... sooo good!!!! Another FTR!! Yay!!! Hehehe!!!

One of the best flight experience ever! The staff is very nice, helpful, and polite. We flew from NYC to Tokyo in Premium Economy, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the lounge at the airport as well. The quality of their food is much better than most others as well, especially after I used mostly Continental/United in the last several years, flying with JAL made it feel like I was a royalty. In comparison, JAL flight attendants were super sweet, the drinks (both alcohol and non-alcohol) were free, and tasty food and snacks, also free. It made our long flight to and from Japan very enjoyable!

Went on business trip from JFK to PVG connect at NRT, on Japan Airlines business class. The service was excellent from the moment you enter the plane. The business class airfare was the cheapest compre to CI, BR, KE and OZ... And the food was also very good (for in-flight meal). At anytime, you can order drinks, food and snacks from an remote control. I definitely recommend JAL Business Class for people looking for comfort, relaxing and good meal.

This (toll-free) number is open 24 hours for flight reservations, ticket changes, cancellations, baggage inquiries, refund requests, modifications, and other travel-related requirements. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. That changed with Royal Jordanian. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. Rather take any other airline that go through that hell again..

Boarding the disabled first slows the entire process when if they were boarded last with only checked bags and seating specified for disabled so they exit last it would improve the process for all the regular passengers. It is usually a miracle when the plane lands that many can now eagerly walk briskly off the plane. Also designated boarding rows are not consistently utilized by all airlines and should be.

We had to wait on the mechanics to check some things- which I was totally fine with because safety is always first, especially in the air. Then, we spent about 45 minutes waiting + taxiing to the runway, before the pilot told us we were going back to the gate due to said mechanical issues. Once we de-planed, we had to wait over an hour for a new plane to arrive at the airport to take us to Charleston. Walking around the JetBlue terminal at JFK airport, I saw most other flights were experiencing delays as well. The airline did issue us $12 meal vouchers on our credit cards, but by the time the voucher reached my email inbox, I was trying to stay close to the gate to avoid missing my (new) plane. I wish we'd been told about the meal vouchers as soon as we got off the plane so that we could have used it. Once we boarded the new plane, we still had a long wait to taxi to the runway and take off. We arrived in CHS about four hours late. The airport was still crowded at the gate, as the plane was flying back to JFK at 10:30-11 PM at night. The redeeming quality of JetBlue was the free in-flight wifi. I'm really glad the pilots turned it on as soon as the doors closed. I was able to crank out a few Yelp reviews and keep my airport ride updated throughout this saga.

FATTIES AND WOKE LISTEN UP…read more This is my second time flying Spirit and my first time flying it out of LGA. My first time years ago out of EWR was solid and I'm happy to report that they've only improved. Spirit is known for the nickel and dime bait and switch but reading is fundamental and they've seemingly abandoned their most pernicious policies. READ ON to learn how to get the most value of of this airline: They have a product called Spirit First which includes The Big Front Seat. It's the equivalent of a first class domestic seat on legacy airlines. Comes with unlimited free snacks, beverages, and alcohol. The seats are wide and pre-reclined. BUT WAIT - purchase of this experience also comes with a personal item, a carryon, AND one free checked bag. Gone are the days when Spirit would financially ruin you for having a bag that was 1/2 inch too long. I even have a specially sized Spirit duffel from yesteryear that was compliant with their old "underseat" baggage rules. Let it go - we don't need it anymore. They've normalized lol. Anyway no one sits in the BFS because Spirit flights are so cheap in economy class. The flight I took to Chicago would have been under $100 if I stuck to economy. However as I'm fat and value not getting DVT as I cross over the Great Lakes, I sprung for the full GFE. Listen to me: this same itinerary on domestic first class Delta would have cost me $805. On Spirit it was $337. Be cute if you want but there's nothing cuter than saving $500. In LGA, Spirit leaves out of Art deco Terminal A. When we pulled up I actually thought I was in the wrong place - I always thought Terminal A was for decoration lol. But it's the dedicated Spirit terminal. I got from my car to seated by the gate in 5 minutes. FIVE MINUTES. Bag drop was a breeze, security was done in an instant, and the gates are 100 paces from security. All of the airport staff and airline employees were super nice. On board the great experience continued. Fat and Woke Stuff: Traveling as a fat flier is so nerve wracking. Small seats, mean passengers, inaccessible everything. However the Big Front Seats restore dignity to the process. Be advised if you may need a seatbelt extender, don't book rows 1 and 3 of the BFS as those have inflatable belts. Spirit has a detailed webpage that explains this so PLEASE READ it before selecting your seats. Spirit had a bad rap in years past because of its money grubbing tactics. I think it maintains one because of how it has democratized cheaper travel esp on shorter routes - and people don't like those that they think do not "deserve" to move about the country or world freely. Let me speak plainly: Too dark and too poor. Notice how whenever there's footage of an in-flight fight or disturbance posted online people are like "MUST BE SPIRIT!" Whole time it's a flight somewhere in western Europe smh. My flight crew was mostly Black and Brown and returning to EWR on the way back, many of the passengers were as well. I dunno about you but being with my people makes me feel safe, seen, and cared for. This airline is an incredible value. The planes are new, staff is friendly, and the BFS rival any of the bigger players in domestic first class. The Spirit infrastructure is much improved too. There were tons of employees by the kiosks ready to assist and the app is simple to use. I will not hesitate to use Spirit First again for my trips to Chicago. Economy class, however, can go to hell. Ain't no way that little bit of seat pitch is safe.
