Window shopping here is really fun. They have an assortment of everything anime and have a great collection of Japanese home goods. The merchandise is pretty expensive, but it's understandable because most of their items are imported. One thing that stood out to me was how strict they are here. I noticed there are a bunch of rules they expect you to abide to: no food, no drinks, no backpacks, no purses, no photography of any kind. I wasn't aware of the signs outside their door because they weren't noticeable at all. I would've appreciated it if they had a bigger, more obvious sign at the front or if they had the staff notify their customers as they come in. Having staff follow you around and single you out to tell you to remove your bag or to not take pictures makes one feel guilty and embarrassed. As for my personal experience, one staff member used the loudspeaker to tell me not to take pictures. Man, did I instantly go red of embarrassment!!! Left immediately because I felt too embarrassed. I liked the store. I like the stuff they sell. Not a fan of their insane prices for merch, but it's expected. But I highly recommend you to become aware of the rules, or you may find yourself getting called out while you are trying to shop!

This place is getting much more variety it's nice to see old anime and the new selection all in one. They are slowly getting manga in which is amazing. The sucky thing is that it's still a small selection due to house and beauty products they sell. They also run out of the hood stuff soon due to it being low selection of them and are left with the less popular things. But it's a very nice store and friendly staff.

I visited here with curiosity.I saw Draemon which is super popular in Asia.I saw " Calpico"! It is Cal-piss in Japan.LOL I love both Calpico and Cal-piss. Especially, I love UCC coffee for 99 cents. Please try it! I was reading other Yelper's reviews who were most of the women.I was the only male customer, actually. If you have a wife or girlfriend who love Japan, please buy something here!

Prices aren't too bad in comparison to china town and 99 ranch mart. If anything the shampoo and such are about a dollar or so cheaper. They have plenty of options for toys/plushies and also carry a few home goods as well. The place has a lot of variety in such a tight space. We went during the grand opening and that was a nightmare. Lol. Waaaaaaaaay to many people but you hit pretty much everything if you're in the mood for Japanese stuff. Go to this store, hit up the market next door and then get some lunch or dinner at ichi ramen or try some of the delicious foods within the market.

They've since replaced all their fake figures with authentic merchandise from places like funimation and good smile company. Props for taking action!

I can only speak for the gunpla, but I'm fairly sure it's the best your gonna get in Houston for the huge variety of stock alone.

Everything was well organized and the turnout was pretty good. There were two groups, one for juniors and one for (young) adults, for fairness. Another thing I liked was that everyone got 3 extra packs instead of awarding it based on wins, given we're playing with pre-con decks + 4 packs that are all random. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, shout-out to Bryan (the general manager?) and the official judge for the event. Plus I had a great conversation with him and Michael(?) about MTG; they're definitely very passionate about board & card games. They have anti-scalping policies in place for Pokemon. As for the space itself, decent amount of parking (more in the back). They're very popular for Warhammer, so there's a ton of product for those who play, and several tables set-up with many people playing all afternoon next to us (the 'playing hall' is pretty large!). They also have an aisle with board games for sale, and a counter with TCG products. Restrooms are spacious and clean. All in all, The Forge is pretty much all you can ask for in a LGS; they're also independently owned! I wish I live closer, but I'll definitely be here again soon!

What really stands out to me is the hospitality. The staff is welcoming and gives you space to shop comfortably--you don't feel watched or rushed like in some other supply stores I've been to. It makes the whole experience much more enjoyable. The owner is so knowledgeable and welcoming as well. On top of that, their pricing is very reasonable for the quality and variety they offer. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to!

Therefore, the quantities are larger than what a person would need for their personal collection of nail products. I was looking for dip powders. They have a ton to choose from, all different brands and colors. Some brands have thermal options, others have glow in the dark. There is definitely something for everyone. Everyone. Most of their inventory is clearly priced, some is not. There are areas that have clearance items. I was looking for smaller containers of dip powder so my options were limited. However, there were so many male utensils and tools and those are sold in individual packages, which was perfect for me. I ended up buying a mix of powders that were on clearance and others that were not but were priced around $4.50 a bottle. The bottles are a little larger than the ones I had. I believe they each hold 2 ounces of powder so they should last me a long time since I only do my nails 1 or 2 times a month and rotate colors. Employees were staying busy but stopped to help when asked. Otherwise, they let you shop in peace.
