We purchased bentos from the food court, very long line but it did moved quickly. Food very fresh and tasty.

If you love H-Mart, you will LOVE Japan Village. Japan Village is a specialized Hypermarket in Brooklyn that has a mini food court and super cool market. Let me break this down into a few parts because there's plenty to say about this amazing place. The Sunrise market is small but packed with tons of imported Japanese frozen foods, snacks, fresh produce, candies, dinnerware, teas and even some body/skin care! I included a picture of the items I bought from Sunrise market but by far my most fave snack I purchase was the Meiji black chocolate bar. I read online it is the equivalent to hersheys chocolate in America but it tastes so much better. Richer in taste, good crispy snap and good quality chocolate. I'd go just to buy the chocolate bars honestly. The food court had a few options to choose from such as ramen, onigiri, udon, soba, Japanese street food and sushi. They also have some desserts such as ice cream and traditional Japanese desserts. In my humble opinion the food was okay. We got chicken Katsu curry, gyu don & karaage with fries. The karaage was my favorite. The gyu don was okay but a little fatty and greasy and the chicken katsu was okay also but I've never had it before so I don't have anything to really compare it to. I probably wouldn't eat at the food court again but that's okay because there's more than just food worth visiting! Next place worth visiting is DAISO!! Daiso is an Asian household goods store. It's like homegoods, dollar tree and Michael's on steroids. Everything is so cuteeeeee and adorable!! You could spend some time in there just admiring the cutesy items. Lastly, let's talk about the ambiance. It is so vibey, beautiful and clean. They have multiple seating areas outside and inside to hang meet up with friends or even to relax on your own during sunset. I highly suggest visiting before sunset so you can take in the beautiful views. The decorations add to the atmosphere and it's by the navy ship yard so you also get a view of the water. If you're thinking of visiting Japan Village, do it! It the perfect place to visit with your family, friends, a date or solo. Plenty to do, plenty to see, explore and try new things. 1000 out of 10 recommend.

This place is like a dream come true as someone who loves Japan and trying new dishes and new things. Stumbled on it randomly when looking for lunch in Brooklyn marathon weekend. I chose to eat at Moriya and it did not disappoint with the best "oyako Don" Will gladly come back next time I visit my sister.

Came to the food court without any specific restaurant in mind. I walked around and saw so many options like sushi, ramen, onigiri, Japanese curry. I ended up picking Japanese curry which was about $14. It took a while to prepare as they didn't have a specific way to let you know the order was ready. It was crowded inside so I sat outside as it was shaded and there were bathrooms nearby, although the bathrooms were not very clean. We also took the elevator to the second floor to see the anime store which had soooo many things to look through

Loved our visit to Japan village. Definitely needs a little tlc. But the market is awesome for all your Japanese cooking needs and the food stands choices are amazing too. Definitely recommend you visit.

This place is a one stop hub for all things Japanese. Need to shop for groceries? Head to Sunrise Mart. Looking for household goods or stationery? Daiso's right here. Craving Japanese food? You'll find a variety of vendors offering everything from takoyaki and ramen to kakigori, bento, and sake. In the mood for anime-inspired gifts? Book-Off has you covered. My main reason for coming here is that it's the closest Daiso to me but I always end up staying to grab a bite. Highly recommend trying the yakisoba, takoyaki, and kakigori! Also fun place to take your family as well! If you follow their instagram, they tend to post friends/family fun events.

Food: Japan Village, located in Industry City in Sunset Park, has various Japanese eateries, shops, and a supermarket. Sunrise Mart has many authentic Japanese products including fresh fish for sashimi, seafood, meats, snacks, housemade tofu products, beverages, frozen foods, ramen, pantry items, cosmetics, and dishware. The food hall section is made up of various options including Japanese sweets and desserts, ramen, udon, tempura, katsu, Japanese curry, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, omurice, sushi, onigiri (rice balls), and more. Food is pretty authentic, and I like the food hall for its variety, covering a wide range of Japanese cuisine. Behind the food hall and supermarket are other shops such as Panya, a Japanese bakery, a karaoke bar, and a Japanese BBQ restaurant coming soon. I would highly recommend the udon because noodles are freshly made and have a nice chewy, bouncy texture. Their onigiri is also delicious. Food is a bit pricey, and portions are small, but overall, the food is delicious. Service: Staff are friendly and welcoming! Everything is self-serve, and you find a table to eat your food after you order and get your food from the counters. Ambiance: There are several tables and chairs for eating indoors but also a lot of seating in the outdoor courtyard behind the main food hall. The place is huge, and it's very nice to sit outdoors when the weather is nice. The ambiance and vibes are great here! Overall, I would recommend Japan Village!

I came for the delicious food and was enthralled by BOOKOFF Ani-Lab, which had a vast selection of anime figurines, games, and Pokémon cards, among other items. No one harassed you as you browsed. The food stalls at Japan Village offered a wide range of options. I had the shrimp tempura udin noodles and a spicy tuna onigiri, and both were so flavorful I'm craving more. The place was neither too crowded, loud, nor too busy. The supermarket had fresh food. I got a red bean taiyaki, which I enjoyed. If I'm in the area, I would definitely go back to the food stalls. As you walk in, there are other restaurants and a bakery. There was no event scheduled on the day I visited, but you can check their calendar for upcoming events. You should check it out!

The ambience and the food is delicious. Also, you can find really cool foods here that I personally can't find anywhere where I live so it's a really nice place to go. If you wanna have a taste of Japanese food and also have a chance to shop for Japanese things And there's even a grocery store in there where you can buy a bunch of really unique/classic snacks and it's not Japanese food. There's a bunch of other stuff like Korean desserts, and food and other Asian things. I've been twice and I wish I lived closer because I would probably go every day. The staff were nice and friendly, and also the service was really quick!

I've been wanting to check out Japan Village for years, and just had not gotten the chance to go until now. Upon walking it, it was amazing to see that there was a supermarket as well as a food court of restaurants on the other side. I walked around the supermarket first -- they have a great variety of everything you'd find in an Asian supermarket: drinks, snacks, beauty products, frozen food, sauces, and a beautiful selection of plates! I felt like the layout was well thought out, as even if you decide not to buy anything, the only way to leave the supermarket area is by passing the cashiers. This makes the traffic flow in one direction, which I think is a great idea! I decided to get dinner at one of the restaurants, and got the washugyu don because I wanted to try something other than my usual go to, which is gyudon. I ordered and paid at the counter and it was ready within 10 minutes. There was plenty of seating so I did not have to worry about struggling to find a seat.

Such a beautiful space with so many things to do! Had such a blast while we were there and we would definitely go back again!

    Michael H.

My wife and I went here for some food and to take pictures. I got the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and a Spicy Tuna Mayo Onigiri. The ramen broth was VERY good. The pork and egg went well with the vegetables, I would've preferred larger noodles but that's on me for not checking. The onigiri was good, something I was very much looking forward to, but nothing special. The atmosphere was amazing, a lot of areas to walk around and check out, as well as their unique little grocery store. Service was a little slow, but was not a problem due to the many shops and stores in the Japan Village. Would definitely visit again and bring friends! Also FYI, the shops on the 2nd floor close at 7pm (not 9pm), so we sadly missed that.

    Fay H.

A must stop in Greenwood Heights if you love Japanese food! There is a small market and a ton of different stands so you can find sushi, onigiri, ramen, teas, etc. Tons of options for all dietary preferences!

I have been a huge fan of IC since Morlene, several years ago became Brooklyn Elite CM, highlighted it. Back then IC had a few shops, restaurants and some events. Today, IC has exploded for a variety of reasons. Let's take a closer look shall we? A. Dining/AKA Food Hall When I first started patronizing this huge space, there was Japanese Village, Sunrise Mart, Sahadi's, Colson Patisserie, End's Meat. Now, there is an eclectic variety of the most wonderful eateries. Here are a few Fawn faves: 1. Burger Joint: my newest obsession. The impossible burger is out of this world. Don't let the name fool you; these burgers put the Capital G in gourmet. Is it possible for an impossible burger to be heavenly? Yup! 2. Table 87: put that frozen Table 87 pizza back in the freezer, leave grocery and proceed to Table 87 in IC. The pizza is fresh and the dough is flying..The mushroom slices are out of this world! 3. Japan Village: I still have to dine inside but the California Roll to go is always fresh and delicious. Sunrise Mart inside JV carries the most delicious frozen treats, pocki, earthenware, fresh fish and more! 4 .Sahadi's: Breakfast Saj Sandwich is a Fawn Fave that consists of Eggs, Grilled Halloumi, Harissa Aioli, Greens, Arugula salad.. scrumptious! Brunch served Saturday and Sunday 11-3. 5. Taco Mix: taqueria serving scrumptious tacos, I love the street tacos. B. Shopping: Here's a few Fawn faves: West Elm outlet was the big draw for me when I started patronizing IC. The rugs and home decor have been schlepped from IC to Bay Ridge time and time again! The service is outstanding and WE was so popular it left Building 2 and relocated to s bigger beautiful space. Brooklyn Candle: attended an Elite Event this past winter and the variety of candles and scents are amazing! I purchased the Brooklyn and Maui scented candles and they smell out of this world. Daiso Daiso offers a one-stop-shop experience with over 100,000 products ranging from Japanese-inspired home decor to stationery and food. The offerings are plentiful and the service is very friendly. C. Special Events: IC has a monthly calendar that features a wide range of events to attend. From pub crawls, karaoke, pottery and crafts, you can find a plethora of activities and events to participate. Sahadi's in the past would host mini live concerts in their Al fresco dining area. As you can see, Industry City offers something for everyone! Industry City 220 36th Street Take R to 36th, 5 minute walj

The food comes out very fast. The cucumber was alright though I was not a fan of the WakuWaku sauce overly sweet. The cabbage was delicious but lacked flavor. Huge portion though. Then came out the skewers. The pumpkin was cold. I wasn't a fan of the washugyu & shishito one. And the scallop bacon was just eh, didn't really notice the bacon on it. Everything tempera one were my favorite. I loved the potato tempera it was perfectly fried. Esp. with the spicy miso sauce, it was fire, I was dipping everything in it.
