In all the years I've visited Industry City and Japan Village, I usually always skip the ramen and go straight for udon or the other places. I had Ramen Setagaya in St Mark years ago and it didnt impressed me then. But being that it was a rainy day, I decided to try ramen here. Arrived about 30min before closing after an AAPI Event at the Court Yard 1/2. Decided to try to order a couple of stuff since it's the first time dining here. I ordered: *Spicy Miso Ramen *Extra: order seasoned tofu on the side *Hirsoshi Pork Bun as appetizer My companions ordered *Black Garlic Tonkotsu DX and the *Classic Tonkotsu DX I thought the seasoned tofu ($2) was Inari (like ar Gohei Udon) but it was crumbled tofu with seasonings which was actually not bad. Great extra protein choice and vegetarian. The Hiroshi Pork Bun was actually better than I thought. It gave a refreshing taste and nice balance aganist the salty ramen. I tasted more lettuce (crisp & refreshing) rather than the pork (thin slices) and bready (because of the bao). All the ramen were salty. The Tonkotsu ramens were served with thin noodles while the Spicy Miso had thick curly wavy noodles (my favorite) so I was very glad to have that. One of my friend wished he had a choice in picking the thicker noodle as he wasn't pleased with the thin noodles in his classic Tonkotsu DX. Suggestion: maybe get to choose type of noodles? And make ramen less salty.

Honestly not the best ramen I have had but in the only ramen spot in Japan Village this is a must after lots of shopping. Ordering process was easy and the wait for the ramen wasn't long. I like that you can come back and grab a few things from other places before settling in with your ramen. I ordered the black truffle tonkotsu ramen and the spicy miso ramen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tonkotsu definitely melted my heart as there weren't any seats inside and we had to kick it outside for seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The spicy miso ramen is definitely spicy as well which is a good surprise! Definitely put up a good fight against the cold and honestly this really hit the spot. I prefer this over most of the other stalls in Japan Village and wholeheartedly say I'm grateful you are in industry city.

Such good classic ramen in the neighborhood. Love the flavorful broth and large portions, especially with the meat which is so rare! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little sitting area as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is my favorite ramen place in Japan Village. Setagaya Ramen in Japan Village offers authentic Japanese ramen with a unique broth. Their renowned broth, particularly the Shio (salt) broth, uses dried fish, kelp, and chicken for a delicate, seafood flavor. Setagaya Ramen's Black Garlic DX Ramen features a savory, salty, and subtly sweet broth, perfectly complementing the toppings and noodles. This rich and bold ramen blends traditional Japanese flavors with the distinctive taste of black garlic. My favorite is still the Black Garlic Dx Ramen. You order at the counter and staff was friendly and quick. This is a perfect spot for ramen if you visit Japan Village. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's not a lot of seatings but there's definitely lots of customers stopping by here for their delicious ramen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So I'm always skeptical of trying ramen I don't know why just am but I was in the mood it was cold wet and rainy. And the black garlic ramen bowl Omgish so delicious me and my partner got one to share she ended up getting her own. The pork pieces wow so delicious I didn't want my bowl to end I wiped in clean. I will for sure be coming back here when I'm back in this area. For sure must try don't skip it. Parking outside was difficult to find and you have to pay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wasn't so busy inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very nice and helpful service as well

I was staying at a nearby hotel in Brooklyn and came here for dinner. I ordered their classic tonkotsu ramen. With the thin straight noodles, it reminded me a bit of the ramen from Shinsengumi back home. I've had good ramen of various styles both in the States and in Japan. Some of the other reviews were a bit harsh. It wasn't the best bowl of ramen, but it definitely wasn't the worst that I've had. Unfortunately, these days with inflation, $15 for a bowl of ramen is considered cheap. Please keep in mind that ramen is inexpensive food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't come here with unrealistic expectations especially since this is in a food court and not a Michelin star restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here's a little history of this restaurant: https://www.setagayany.com/

This ramen place is located within Industry City Japan Village across from Sunrise Mart. You place the order at the counter. We ordered Spicy Miso Ramen & Classic Tonkatsu Ramen, you add drinks as well. There's seating however, keep in mind the place can get really busy and there might be guarantee seating if you come on a weekend. We came on a Friday afternoon. Ramen was delicious! Would recommend coming back! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5

I absolutely love the Mt fuji Ramen. My friends call it spaghetti ramen since it's basically tomato and Parmasean, but I love the combination of tomato and cheese with chili flakes in my ramen. I had it in japan before and it was my absolute favorite type of ramen style so I'm very happy to have this close to me at home in the states.

Affordable and amazingly delicious. I was craving ramen for the longest and this hit the spot. I got the classic tonkotsu and my cousin got the black garlic tonkotsu. We were extremely impressed to how perfectly charred and crisped the tonkotsu was. The broth was rich and noodles were al dente. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a small with limited seating but there is bar seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great and accommodating.

Conveniently located in the Japan village food hall (actually it's one of the first stores you see after you enter on 3rd Ave). Went with the classic tonkotsu which felt was fairly priced at $14. Ample seating. Clean. Fast receipt of food. Noodles were fresh. 2 large pieces of charsu In my order. Decent portion size.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant makes you feel like you're in an actual ramen shop in Japan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The booth was a cozy place, well furnished and overall, relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But nothing beats the ramen! I had the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen (my favorite ramen) and hands down it was gratifying! The perfect meal for a chilly day. The staff were friendly and fast; best service I'd ever experienced. Definitely worth the visit!

Look at the wealth of ingredients!

A very hefty and warm bowl of ramen infused with an incredibly flavorful scent of garlic! My total ended up being around 21 dollars for both the black garlic tonkotsu deluxe with a side of extra pork, which equated to a small bowl of ramen from the Michelin star ramen shop Tsuta at Dumbo. This ramen tasted 10x as good as the one from Tsuta and came with a wealth of flavorful ingredients! The picture speaks for itself and I couldn't have been happier with this bowl of ramen to keep me warm while I travel home during the cold winter breeze! Definitely a must-try if you haven't yet! Thank you for reading and good luck! (:

It's quite busy but the turnover rate is quick. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables and counter seating. But I've got to say I am disappointed by my overall experience based on how popular this spot is. You order from a menu you can write on, which allows you to customize your ramen selections (noodle thickness, broth, add-ons, etc). I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with spicy added. While the broth is pretty good, I think the overall ramen is a bit lacking compared to other ramen spots. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

First: got combo B which was the perfect amount for 2 people since it included an appetizer, 2 ramens, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Left very filled and happy. Would highly recommend their lemonade and Thai tea! The popcorn chicken is more batter than chicken, so it's good if you like more of a crunch. The tonkotsu and miso ramens were good, but not particularly notable. Kyuramen is a chain after all, so the food quality gives that same vibe as comforting when you're just craving some. Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. I thought the chances would be pretty slim, but I got a drink voucher my second time!

Overall, there wasn't anything special about the steamed dumplings. Iron Men (3/5): I was disappointed since reviewers said that the broth would be very rich but it did not have much flavor to me even after using their house chili sauce (+$2). I definitely tasted the Iberian pork undertones but overall, I thought it was watery and didn't have much flavor without the chili. The poached egg was perfect. The rosemary oil was very subtle (cool presentation as it was provided in a dropper!) The noodles were perfect--chewy and bouncy. I thought the 2 slices of pork were thin but tender, also more lean and not fatty (not as ideal so did not melt in your mouth). Expensive for a bowl with little meat ($23). I did not use the miso paste as I did not love the aftertaste, which admittedly could be why the broth lacked flavor to me! Nagoya Miso Katsu-Don (N/A): I tried a little of the dish. I thought the pork was very crunchy and had a great taste. Boyfriend said the dish was nothing special.
