And it was actually a relief that we ordered the Pancit Canton on the side to fill up on, which was a good dish with lots of calamansi flavor! The two popular…read moreItalian spots had massive waiting lines so I opted for IBR instead.It's a cheap, no frills Filipino eatery. I dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 8:20pm). There's two seating areas: sweating buckets in the front, AC in the back. Unfortunately for me, all the AC tables were full. The menu is up behind the ordering counter. You order and pay first. Everything is dirt cheap (40 PHP to 280 PHP). There's also a small breakfast and dessert menu (crepes, pancakes, shakes and halo-halo). - Pansit bihon (110 PHP) - this was a massive portion of noodles with bits of chicken, carrot, cabbage and a calamansi to squeeze on top. Decent and not too salty. - Steamed kangkong (60 PHP) - first time I've seen a vegetable only dish! It came with a side of salty shrimp/seafood paste (way too salty for my tastes). The kangkong was a huge portion but bland. - Arrozcaldo (40 PHP) - this was the best dish. Filipino style rice soup was perfect; actually flavourful and came with a whole egg. SOLD…read more Sava Beach Bar has two floors, so we decided to sit out on the second floor, which looks out to the water. Many, if not all here, seemed to be tourists. The bar definitely has a more modern feel to it with loud music playing on the ground level, couches along the wall and dim lighting everywhere. To take advantage of the happy hour, you have to get the same cocktail. We both ordered the Pina Colada which came in a faux coconut shell. It was one of the better pina coladas I've had, as you could tell it was made with fresh coconut and was strong on the rum. I would recommend it here. However, there's a solid list of cocktail menus on the happy hour deal, ranging in different alcohol bases. They do sell bar food here, which is mostly westernized (fries, calamari, etc...) Sava Beach Bar was a nice spot for happy hour, especially if you can get a seat that looks out to the water. Great cocktails and service.
