The bar definitely has a more modern feel to it with loud music playing on the ground level, couches along the wall and dim lighting everywhere. To take advantage of the happy hour, you have to get the same cocktail. We both ordered the Pina Colada which came in a faux coconut shell. It was one of the better pina coladas I've had, as you could tell it was made with fresh coconut and was strong on the rum. I would recommend it here. However, there's a solid list of cocktail menus on the happy hour deal, ranging in different alcohol bases. They do sell bar food here, which is mostly westernized (fries, calamari, etc...) Sava Beach Bar was a nice spot for happy hour, especially if you can get a seat that looks out to the water. Great cocktails and service.

If you win the toss, your drink is free, and if you lose, you just pay for drink like you were going to anyway. Such a great bar that it was certainly a highlight of my trip. And it was actually a relief that we ordered the Pancit Canton on the side to fill up on, which was a good dish with lots of calamansi flavor! They have eye-catching and refreshing tiki cocktails which they serve in such fun glassware. I had the "More Fun Nacpan" (330 PHP) which was a light, gin-based cocktail made with calamansi juice. This came with a fun cut-out of an orange shaped into a sun! The cocktail was of decent strength but it was most importantly yummy. For food, we ordered the "pork" sizzling sisig and, oddly enough, a Margherita Pizza. The latter seemed to be a big deal with their wood-fired oven in plain view. We actually relished this greatly and, although doughy, I rather enjoyed that extra oomph of yeasty-ness. The sisig, on the other hand, was strange. First off, it was definitely beef and they only dusted something crispy on top. I could not confirm if this was pork skin or what. They had a band playing live music during our stay; some English hits, but Tagalog as well. The best kind of stray dog was begging at our feet while we ate, so cute! You're not a dog lover if their presence bothers you! A nice little spot to relax and escape the sun for a bit. If you need a bathroom, there is one located behind this restaurant as well.

With my ever constant Mango Shake, we had a delicious meal with an abundance of veggies, something that is hard to come by while on vacation. If you do not want Filipino food, they even have a Western 'fast food' menu. Not a bad option when it comes to Filipino food and Filipino food you should have while in the Philippines. Skip the Western options and support the Filipino businesses!
